I am from out of town and I was scheduled with Sarah Dee. She is excellent! My hair is thin and wavy and she did an excellent job recreating the cut I showed her from a photo. It is easy to style and my hair looks fuller with this cut. I do straighten my wavy hair and I am able to wear it straight or wavy with the cut (reverse bob with longish bangs). Another plus is that this girl does not smoke/smell like smoke so you will not leave there with a head smelling like an ashtray. read more

My family and I had appointments at Dry Bar on a Sunday before a wedding we were attending, and when none of the stylists showed up, you could say we were in a bit of a bind. Couture Salon is one of the only salons in Charleston opened before noon on Sundays. We ran in as soon as they opened, hoping they would help us. I was visiting for the weekend and in desperate need of a haircut. Salon Couture had immediate openings on Friday afternoon and they were flexible in accommodating my last minute reservation. The salon is in a spacious second floor locale with nearly floor to ceiling station mirrors and a comfortable atmosphere. Thomas did a great job with my wash, cut and dry and was a good conversationalist. The total was $60, which is what I would pay in Chicago, and seemed high to me. Do not go to this salon the stylist KATRINA LAWYER will rob you blind !!! She is the overweight black woman and stole 500$ from me. I spent 1,000$ on tape in extensions here to get hair that improperly installed, installed in the wrong color to match my actual hair, and only half my head was completed. The day of my apt was the first time I saw the hair I had paid 600$ , which she assured me would be perfect color/texture- but instead it was 4 shades too light for my hair. When I tried to voice my concern Katrina snapped at me making me feel uncomfortable to ask questions. When I asked her to dye the hair the correct color she quickly demanded that it is not allowed to dye the hair the same day as installation. She even said "go call the company I know what I'm talking about it is not allowed to be dyed the day of" I have since spoken to 15 other stylist that works with these extensions and the company and she blatantly lied to me so she could steal my money that day installing the wrong color hair I let her install the hair as I was anxious I spent so much on it, she only did half my head of hair. She covered the top part by styling it so I could not tell she only did half my head. I was happy with the results even though she was hiding the true way it looked from me. With this I tipped her 400$ in cash. When I noticed the next day half of my hair did not have extensions I messaged her, she freaked out and told me to no longer contact her and blocked me! She blocked me everyone !!! I was so upset at what a big tip I had left her and how much money she stole from me. Since then I have gone in for consultations with stylists all over Charleston, Atlanta, and Columbia getting a consult before I choose who will fix my extensions. They told me she installed my hair completely wrong and that they can by dyed day of:. I am now spending more money to take out everything she installed and reinstall it. Please don't go to this salon, Katrina lawyer ruined my whole month and stole more money from me than I could have imagined !!! read more

I had my hair done today and it turned out great! I was able to call day of and get in to get my hair cut, colored and styled. Jennifer took great care of me and my hair and made it look awesome! She listened to what I wanted, sympathized with my frustrations, made suggestions, and I left with my hair looking like it never had before. Requested an appointment with Angela for a blow-out, based on Yelp reviews. The salon (on second floor, fyi) space is fabulous and the receptionist is really sweet. So far, so good. You know how you can only tell if the blow-out is going to turn out well after the stylist turns on the hair dryer? This time, I knew Angela was going to be great even before we reached the sink. I went in there to get my hair colored by Carol on an agreed price. She passed me off to Angela Walts who messed my color up, burned my scalp trying to fix it, and gave me the wrong, much darker color over all without any of the highlights I asked for. Then she gave me the worst haircut of my life by chopping off what I had worked hard to grow out and not evening out the hair around my face. I was never apologized to and I still had to pay for services that I didn't get. If you value your hair and self esteem never go here and especially to Angela Walts. read more

Worst blow out I've ever had!! I made appt here online because it was near our condo. I was from out of town, so found this place by Google. The staff was all so busy chatting with each other they couldn't be bothered by customers...of which there was none but me! I had my appointment with Angela M. The shampoo was torture as she roughly dug her fingernails in my scalp. I'm not even sure she put conditioner in my hair as she pulled half of it out while brushing it wet! She scraped my head as she dried it flat to my head. I had a headache when I left from the rough treatment & had to go back to my room to try to do something with it to be seen in public! I later found out there was a blow dry bar down the street. Wish I would've know that! Do yourself a favor & do not subject yourself to this place! :-( read more

I'm from out of town i wanted to get a haircut..even though the canopy sign outside was torn i went on anyway....I got an appointment w Carol who i found out is the owner. After getting a huge recommendation from a stranger for a hairstylist, I was eager to visit this solon. The online reviews were good and I am new to the area and desperately needed a great cut. I have a short trendy haircut and find it difficult to find someone who can do something a little edgy with out getting it too short. I was hopeful but never had the chance to find out. I had a 9:30 appointment. and arrived at the address 420 king st. right on time. I searched safari on my smart phone and its the first thing that popped up. I fed the meter all my change and proceeded to walk in but discovered that they were not at this address. I quickly telephoned and the receptionist said that they were at 302 king. I explained that the internet had them listed at 420 and that I had fed the meter all my change so I would walk as quickly as I could to their address. Being new to the area I was not familiar with how long that would take but It seemed to be only 100-ish address numbers so I figured it couldn't take long. I was 11 minutes late for my appointment when I arrived. I walked up the steps and smiled apologetically at the receptionist whom I had just spoken to on the phone. She asked me to wait and disappeared in the back. I wondered around for a moment and when she came back she asked me to reschedule because I was late and there would be another client in 30 min. and they did not want to do the haircut. I was gobsmacked!!!! I am not easily offended but the tone of that request made me feel like the moment in Pretty woman when the pretentious sales ladies in the boutique made Julia Roberts give up on shopping! I explained that I had hired a sitter and was paying for this time and that she might have told me this on the phone a few minutes earlier and saved me the walk and humiliation of a face to face reprimand. I have to assume that the stylist - Carol (who never had the courtesy of making an appearance) was the one requesting my reschedule, however it would have been much more professional to do it herself and at least make an effort to come out and meet a new client. I was so upset. I did not make another appointment. They obviously are not interested in customer service. I find going to the salon a relaxing and pampering event and this was humiliating, rejecting and stressful. They made no effort to retain my business even after I was nearly begging for a haircut.
