I've been going to Theory for a while now and I could not be happier. Makenna has been my stylist and does an amazing job on my curly hair plus coloring I've had done. She always listens to what I'm thinking of doing and will always give her honest and professional opinion on it. (Which is great, because if something won't work with my hair the way I'm hoping it will - she def lets me know!) She is so polite and makes the appointment so relaxing. My daughter gets her hair done by Scout. She adores her. Scout listens to what she'd like and helps her understand her hair better with cuts, how to take care of it and more. My daughter always leaves extremely happy after her appointments. If you're looking for a fun place to get your hair done, I would def check out Theory Collective. Extremely disappointing experience, especially considering the owner herself performed the service. I paid over $300 for a partial highlight and left with hair that was visibly stripey, poorly blended at the root, uneven in tone, and much darker/brassier than requested. There were yellow and greenish sections, muddy areas, and an overall unfinished result. This looked nothing like the seamless neutral blonde I asked for or what I have consistently received from many other stylists. I contacted the salon promptly within the timeframe listed under their Service Guarantee. Instead of taking accountability or offering a reasonable resolution, Ashley insisted no refund would be given under any circumstances and stated that the website reflects this policy. However, the website does not state no refunds. It states that they stand behind a guarantee to make concerns right within 5 days. She said the most she would do for me to "make it right" is put another gloss over it. A gloss does not correct poor blending, stripey foil placement, or hair that did not lift properly. Those are service execution issues, not minor toning issues. What is most concerning is that this response came from the owner. When the owner is unwilling to acknowledge an obviously poor result or stand behind premium-priced work, it says a lot about the business. For over $300, I expected professionalism, skill, and customer care. I received none of those. read more

The salon is roomy and comfy; the stylists are top-notch and always pleasant and professional; check-in / check-out is fast and easy; and great styling products are available for purchase. I've been through quite a hair journey since COVID hit (I can't lie, even before that! I didn't want/couldn't afford to mess with my hair often). I was living in CA and I was doing my own color for almost a year, so my hair wasn't in the best condition due to bleaching I've done on my own. Kirsten was thankfully upfront about what she could and could NOT do with my hair. She has done my highlights and cut multiple times throughout this past year (2020). In September (2020), I was hit with COVID, I have been experiencing a great amount of hair loss plus hair fragility since then. I went back to her just before the holidays for tape-in extensions- Kristen and partner, Ashley both agreed that it was not a good idea based on the current state of my hair.. but they agreed that it might be possible to add a couple small extension on the back of my head. Kristen gave me a hair treatment that truly transformed my hair like I've never seen before. She also added a couple extensions in the back and sent me home with a treatment to use over the next 6 washes. I have only washed my hair once since but I can't wait to go back. I sincerely appreciate the care that Theory Collective takes as a whole to ensure that they do a wonderful job and are honest about their outcome of treatments. read more

i will never be coming back to this salon again. they did not go over ANY pricing with me and i believe they took advantage of me being 16 and not knowing much about how a salon should be. i showed kristen my inspo picture and it looked the same as if left when i came in. i was charged $246 for a highlight that she ONLY put on my roots. she never discussed what she was doing to my hair and then proceeded to do extra things to my hair that costed money. she was talking with another worker (will not identify her because she was the sweetest person there) about doing a root tap which costed extra. she never consulted with me on if i wanted it or not. i have been to two other hairstylist and they have never treated me the way that they did here. kristen was VERY rough on my head and i'm not even tender headed. i was in the salon for 3 hours because she was trying to fix my "damaged" hair(i've been using olaplex for almost a year now and none of my other hairstylist have ever mentioned my hair being damaged) this place is out right ridiculous and kristen needs to go back to hair school and learn how to treat her clients. i ONLY wanted a PARTIAL HIGHLIGHT and i was charged an absurd amount for things i did not ask for and things i didn't even know she was doing to my hair because she never consulted me on anything before she started. also i forgot to mention my hair is 2 different types of blonde because she only got my roots and not the ends of my hair. she was also complaining to another employee about how she did not like the product she was using on my hair...why would you continue to use the product if you don't like it and don't think that it is good??? read more
