I stopped going to Deco Nail Spa because of the owner/manager. My family gave me a gift card to the spa for my birthday one year. After a mani/pedi, I used all the cash I had on me at the time to tip the woman who did my nails. When I paid with the gift card, the owner/manager insisted I pay the sales tax in cash. He refused to take the sales tax out of the gift card. This was very bizarre and I questioned why they had this policy but the owner would not explain and kept repeating "Cash only for tax. No gift card." I'd used gift cards here in the past without this issue and told him this, but he kept shaking his head. I had to ask the nail tech for some of the tip back and use it to pay the sales tax because the owner absolutely insisted. It was so awkward and off putting - I've never heard of such a thing in my life and I haven't been back since.

You sit down and they bring you a dusty box of colors for you to choose from. I picked my color while she started filing. Granted my nails were already short, I don't know how it's possible that the technician made them shorter. Generally, I get my nails done about every 3-4 weeks so I'm pretty familiar with how nail salons normally do manicures. The way she was filing and buffing my nails was a little strange and as I look at my nails now, she really didn't clean up anything. I still have little hangnails and jagged edges to my nails. Now for the actual color part, as the technician painted my nails she got quite a lot of polish on my skin which I thought was fine because she would just clean it off. Well, keep that in mind for later. She continued painting and then putting into the light for a regular gel manicure. When she was done, she took the polish on my skin off by filing it. Yes, filing it. So after my nails were already painted she decided to file my nails again. Let me tell you, I have never experienced before and quite frankly I think it doesn't work at all. The edges of my nails are now sharp and there is still polish on my skin. Oh, and my nails are even shorter. For the end she put some green scrub and lightly rubbed it in. then she told me that I had to go up to wash it off. I mean that's kind of strange. Going to the sink with the nail technician to wash the scrub off in cold water. It just seemed so weird. I had my phone and keys in my lap that I had to pick up while my hands had some kind of scrub on them. The total was $32 + tax which is a little more expensive than my other usual place, but nevertheless I paid and got out of there. Looking back at my nails right now and all I see are air bubbles, Mars and a waste of my money and time. Go to another place!

First , the women doing my nails burned the side of my foot with a stone , I jerked back but didn't realize how bad the burn was till I was drying my toes. Prior to leaving , we got stopped at the door for not paying when I clearly did and then the women proceeded to ask me where her tip was which I find highly unprofessional. I had left my purse with my cash in the car and just grabbed my small wallet so I planned on going out to grab her tip ( which as a waitress that lived off tips , I tip rather generously ) but after being accused of not paying and being held at the door and then rudely asked where the tip was I decided I wouldn't be leaving one. Needless to say after this experience I will not be returning.

I haven't gotten my nails done in a long time however I had gone quite frequently in the past to an amazing nail technician and place. One - it's very cold in there. Not too pleasant when you're sitting there for nails, and wearing fairly warm shoes. Two - the "quick dry" spray doesn't dry. Not to put your coat on isn't an option in the winter in New England. Having a place to dry your nails needs to be in place or atleast communicating to your client just sit here for x more minutes then we can check them. And lastly a smooth looking nail is expected when you pay for nails. I do my nails all the time at home the only different is that smooth finish you hope to achieve by a nail technician. The simple nail art did come out beautiful. Honestly, the salon itself is a no for me altogether with a less than average experience. I don't recommend it. I can be more specific of other issues but I honestly don't like leaving these kinds of reviews. I think the salon owner needs to pay more attention to details while there are far too many nail salons to choose from that capitalize on one of these issues. A decent gel manicure and regular pedicure at a pretty low price for the quality of work. But clearly, the level of service has decreased since after the height of the pandemic. And I can understand on some level--things are rough for most at the moment. But I would have appreciated any sort of effort or care. My pedicure turned out pretty well. I would have liked her to have left my toenails a bit longer; she cut them quite short and did not ask for my preference. The leg massage was quite weak and didn't do much other than rub the lotion in. The heel smoothing also was quite weak and didn't do much. The paint job was actually quite well done, nice and clean. Hopefully it lasts for a bit. She just generally seemed to not want to be there. After my service was done, the tech silently led me over to the drying station and walked away. I sat back to relax a bit, and happened to look to the front door--my nail tech was leaving for the night. I hadn't tipped her yet. Another tech had to put oil on my cuticles. It was a honestly a pretty depressing experience. I hope this isn't the norm. I won't be returning, unfortunately.
