As a nail biter with very short nails, extensions tend to break easily. If my nail has broken they always fit me in quickly and fix it free of charge. I'm so highly disappointed in the manicure and nails I got from this salon. I went with my grandma and mom who got pedicures and they loved their pedicures however I got my nails done I actually wanted acrylics but wasn't really given an option when we walked in. These nails were $90 + dollars and we spent almost $300 all together and this is just unacceptable. I hate leaving bad reviews but I feel this is unacceptable for the price it costs I really could have done them better at home myself. It's only been 6 days and 2 nails have popped off and one is falling off. When I got the nails done they were lumpy and uneven almost every nail. I'll provide pictures. I hardly ever get my nails done, but I was going to see one of my favorite artists perform live and wanted to look nice. The concert was on a Wednesday and I made a nail appt at 2pm that Monday. I waited for about 45 minutes to finally be brought to a seat and have someone start on my nails. I showed the nail tech a picture of a nail design I liked and asked if she would be able to do it. If not, no biggie, I had a back up design. But she said she could definitely do it. As she was working on my nails I struggled to hide my displeasure. I'm not too knowledgeable about nails but these were some sort of gel equivalent to acrylics. Their shape was very wonky and the surface wasn't smooth. She filed my real nails very roughly, which caused one of them to start bleeding. A few fake nails in I stopped her to confirm that my nails were going to look like the picture I showed her, to which she replied "this is the process." The end result was nothing short of horrendous. I could tell the nail tech thought so too because she kept saying "wow, so pretty" in a blatantly fake tone. They were not anything like the design I wanted- that she insisted she could do. I honestly think she was trying to gaslight me or something because when I tried to say (politely) that it didn't really look like what I asked for she said "no, this is the style." On top of the messy looking paint job, the edges of the nails were rough and they were very poorly shaped. I debated asking her to redo them right then and there. I didn't want to seem mean, but they were just horrible. But there was a line of people waiting for their appointment and only two other people working, so I knew there was absolutely no hope of getting my nails fixed by her or redone by one of the other techs that day. I asked if it would cost extra to add a minimalistic design to them in a last ditch attempt to save them, and she said no. I had her add a silver line down the middle and a day later it's already faded and is barely noticeable. The nail tech told me the cost: $85. For these?? After I handed her my credit card for processing she asked me very loudly from across the room how much I wanted to tip her. Every person in the salon turned to me the second she said that and of course I had to do at least $10 or look like an AH. I walked out at 4pm livid. I couldn't afford to get my nails redone else where, so I knew I'd have to go back. I called the salon the next day and asked if they could fit me in that day for a touch up before the concert. I blatantly said they didn't look like something anyone would pay to have done. They squeezed me in for an appt in the middle of the day (so I had to leave work early and not get paid). The new nail tech looked complexed when he saw my nails, to say the least. He apologized for the way they looked and even called the nail tech who did them asking "what is this?" He told me he only had 30 minutes before his next appt, so he wouldn't be able to redo them entirely. But he filed them down as best he could and smoothed out the surface. I had him paint them a plain, solid color. They still weren't perfect but I was satisfied with his work. It took hardly any time for him to do the extra filing and smoothing of the nail so I have no idea why the lady I saw the day before couldn't be bothered to do that. He then gave me a gift receipt of $9 which he said was for the "design" that the lady I saw previously charged me for. So after the lady told me she wouldn't charge me for the nail design, she went ahead and did it anyway. I gave the gift receipt to someone else. I will not be going back. To anyone considering getting your nails done here, save your time and your money and go somewhere else. They are unprofessional and overpriced. read more

Beautiful salon! It has a bright, open feel to it which is rare in my experience for nail salons. They have a pottery collection which I didn't (but should have) inquired about. The pottery was modern and beautiful. I wonder if they were by local artists. I was nervous to get a manicure given the obvious, but sanitation is of utmost importance to them. They wear masks, face shields, and gloves. There is hand sanitizer everywhere, and social distancing is enforced for customers. There is also tape on the floor to keep people apart while waiting. My pedicurist was quiet at first but we managed to strike up some conversation while she worked away at my feet. Even with a basic pedicure you get a paraffin wax on your heels, which I told her I'd never experienced. The guilt I felt for indulging in a pedicure was melted away by knowing I was helping out this quiet salon. I recommend giving them a try. read more

Best salon in Madison and towns around. Not only do they offer extensive nail services (with a LOT of color choices), but also waxing, lash extensions/tinting, massages and facials. If I could give 0 stars I would. By far the worst gel dip manicure my friend and I have ever gotten. Informed owner of how bad they were. Spent another hour getting them "fixed" by owner. Still can't out horrible. Color not right, level is uneven, cuticles neatly bleeding, top is not smooth. To top it all off, we still paid for this horrendous manicure and never got the hand massage or anything of that nature. I will have to go to another place to get them fixed just so I don't embarrass myself. Will never go back. read more

I've probably been to more than 10 different nail salons in my life and this one by far left me the most uneasy. I watched everyone working there coming and going. Everyone working seemed miserable and robotic more so than usual in places like this. It made me wonder if the employees were being treated fairly. I paid close to $100 for a spa pedicure with some neon green powder in the water and a 5 min shoulder massage from someone that didn't seem to be trained in massage. This place put up a huge red flag for me. I hope everything is above board here. I will not support these types of nail salons anymore. Had a really wonderful spa pedicure! The sap is already beautiful but they had a ton of christmas decorations and christmas music, it looked fantastic! The man that did my pedicure did a great job and was friendly and smiling. I have been to Oasis for a manicure many times and I've always left happy! The staff are extremely friendly! Even for a walk-in the wait is never long. The manicure is basic (no paraffin wax) but good quality and fast. When you go to the drier to dry your nails, your manicurist gives you a little courtesy shoulder massage. read more

It's quite a peculiar alliance. Therefore if you haven't completely signed on, you may want to go somewhere else. But if you are on board with this treaty Oasis is a lovely place to get a good, or sometimes great predicate - and a place to get a mediocre or if you are very lucky a good manicure. will not return. I went last Saturday for a pedi and full set of nails. On the 4th day a nail popped off after I showered. On the 7th day 2 more popped off and all were loose enough that I could pop all off. The woman who did the set (possibly manager) was very rough several fingers bled (I understand this happens sometimes but this was more painful then I've experienced) . I paid in total $110 for 4 days of having a full set...not too mention the French polish was chipping a lot on the first day. I have been getting my nails done off and on for 10 years and never had this happen but this was my first visit to Oasis so I'm guessing they use the lowest quality materials. I will stick with salons in old saybrook that I'm familiar with. Don't waste your time and money here...it looks better then it is. read more

I will never go back to Oasis again. The manager Sue is a very unpleasant human. The way this woman treats customers and employees is unacceptable. When I want to get my nails done I expect a relaxing environment and Oasis is anything but relaxing. Sue is constantly yelling at her employees and makes a point of only speaking in Chinese which leaves you wondering what they're saying throughout your whole experience. Although I cannot understand Chinese I am fully aware she is not a respectful woman. Oasis treats their customers like its a factory and practically rushes you out the door. The last time I was there Sue did my nails and she literally yelled at me and pushed my hand. If you want a great nail experience I strongly recommend Villa Nail Spa in Guilford. They provide great service and even include a massage while your nails are drying, you will also never encounter Sue there. read more

What a strange experience I had at this place today. I called ahead for an appointment for a mani-pedi. They asked if I could come in 20 minutes and I agreed. Showed up a few minutes late but then proceeded to wait for 45 minutes before the owner finally put me in a chair for pedicure. I was not in a rush so didn't worry too much but they didn't even acknowledge the delay. The owner started the pedi until one of the women finished with other clients. She did a great job but it felt rushed. She put my color away and was surprised when I said I was there for mani too. Mani was fine and I was looking forward to the massage that the promise with each manicure. I had asked to add an eyebrow wax so I figured they would do it after. Nothing! Also I am used to being asked to pay before mani so as not to mess up polish but no. I tried to stay at the dryers as long as possible but I had been there for hours already. Of course I messed up my index finger paying! But I wasn't going to get them to fix it. I tipped the women well because this seemed like an issue with the owner. Had a massage here. Not sure if I would call it that though. Worst ever. 1 hour Swedish. The person could not have been licensed. I laid on my stomach the entire time. Rough, too hot towels, head covered, table uncomfortable and heated to the point my thighs were burning, so much oil I almost fell when I got up onto the dirty tile floor. I got a gift certificate and decided to use it to get a pedicure. I walked in the salon and waited and after a couple of mins I finally got hi and I stated I wanted a pedicure. I waited over 15 mins and finally they said to go to the chair. I had Gel on my toes and was told they charge $10.00 to take it off... I have never been charged to take the polish off at other salons. My pedicure was rushed and the man doing it was very rough with everything he did. I won't be going back. I came into this salon about 2 hours before having to go to work. I saw a couple of people in there so I was getting ready to leave because I didn't want to feel rushed. The woman closest to the door assured me more people were coming to work and to have a seat. After thirty minutes she had me sit at a station. The station had all the old paper towels with nail clippings, and cuticle cuttings on them. Ten minutes after that when someone sat down she didn't even change out the paper towel before starting to work on me. She wiped off her supplies instead of sanitizing them. I should have ran but at this point I didn't have much time left to go elsewhere. I hadn't been able to get them done yet that week and I wanted my nails to get fixed up and look professional upon returning from maternity leave that day. So I opted out of cuticle work, I had a shellac french manicure which the lines ended up being crooked and sloppy looking by the end of inspection. I even had another lady switch out to apply the top coat because another customer came in. She didn't inform me or try to fix it. I had a gift card to go to their shop in Guilford and I feel bad my grandma paid money to this place! Totally not worth the money, more expensive than my regular place. You couldn't pay me to go back! Also after 4 days my nails were already chipping! Shellac should be good for at least 10 days when done properly usually it lasts longer! read more

This place is shoddy at best. Terrible job on my pedi - one foot has nails cut too short, other foot normal. Big toe got cut on an angle and is crooked... I was stabbed under the toenail with the instrument they use to clean nails; it throbbed for about 10 minutes. Oasis easily accommodated our last minute request for three mani-pedis. The pedicure was long and relaxing with a lovely massage. The manicure was a bit more basic. Our technicians were friendly and professional, and worked carefully. We did not feel rushed, unlike other places I've visited. I got a UV gel manicure and regular polish pedicure (total ~$70), and I'm waiting to see if they stand up to the test of time. Overall, a great experience. read more

WILL NEVER BE GOING BACK HERE! Went in today with a friend, both of us wanting a pedicure and acrylic fill. They were happy to accommodate us as we were the only customers there. First was our pedicures which was pretty basic. But no time was taken for the foot massage about 2 minutes a foot-- when we are both used to AT LEAST 5 minutes a foot, not to mention the pricing was way more than I have ever paid for. They charged us $30 per pedicure! Now for the real kicker. We both sit down for our acrylic fills and things seem to be going well. Jennifer doing my friends nails. June doing mine. As June is filing my nails she cut me once with the file, which I can let slide... things happen. But then as she is rushing filing my nails down she cuts me again!! Not only did she cut me twice. But she didn't even do what we asked for when we came in. June started to put nail glue all over my fingers and proceed to dunk my entire finger into the acrylic powder... that is not how you do it. Jennifer didn't even use acrylic powder on my friend she just put nail glue all over her nails and filed them! So now our nails are done horribly, filed crooked, and not what we asked for and as my friend is leaving a 10% tip (which is being nice after a horrible experience) Jennifer has the AUDACITY to ask her and say "that's it? Only $6?" HOW RUDE COULD THEY BE?! As someone who works in the service industry I understand tips, but I would never make a comment like that to any customer! Very happy with my manicure. While I have worn gloves while washing dishes, I am very hard on my nails and clean a lot w/ two kids and a dog! I never thought the manicure would last thru Thanksgiving. My manicure has lasted 2 weeks so far...I did an additional coat of clear about a week into it. I do have a few chips --- I am touching them up and adding more clear coat. I actually think I'll get a 3rd week out of them. Service was friendly. My first time there. My last two visits for mani-pedi left me disappointed and unhappy. I had been a customer for 12+ years beginning when location was next to Nicks. As other reviewers commented, I always felt pampered and relaxed when I left. No more! I experienced both times what might best be described as a "bum's rush". The last straw was having the manicurist start my message, but leave to watch the manicure of a favored customer next to me, a one shoulder massage is not satisfactory.
