Salon Divo is an amazing hair salon. Since moving to Alexandria area, I always come here to get my hair cut. Their service is very nice, friendly, and welcoming. This is definitely going to be my salon while I live in the area. Highly recommend this place! The establishment has parking available near building and is in a main building. Very clean and warm inviting salon. I pay $60 every time which isn't bad for the quality! I usually schedule by email or over the phone (they respond quickly) and I let them know if I'm running late. They're very patient and accommodating. Sometimes I wait because I'm running late (not their fault), but they attend to me right away when they can! read more

I went to this salon on a whim based on Yelp recommendations and didn't even choose the stylist, I just asked for whoever was available the next day. Came in yesterday upon a friend's recommendation for a haircut. I am picky when it comes to my hair and won't let just anyone cut my hair. When I enter the salon, I was greeted by Divo with a warm cup of tea. He asked me how I wanted my hair cut..showed him the pic and cut it the way that best suit my face structure. I love it! He really took his time (over an hour) and was very meticulous at every detail. Being a new customer, he gave me a discount but I ended up paying him the original price in tip because he deserve it! I also met his wife who is very nice. When I left everyone chimed in on giving me direction back home. Friendly, professional and clean salon I highly recommend it! I found Salon Divo after looking for a place that offered numerous services and had great reviews. I first went to Salon Divo for a SMS manicure. I was able to make an appointment the same day I called, and the amount of time the nail tech spent with me was great and appreciated. I've been to other salons where I get SNS and added tips and my nails break even a day later. My nails are amazing even after a few days! I felt confident with this location, so I (nervously) booked my first brazillian wax. I had Lee who walked me through it and did an amazing job. I ended up adding half leg and eyebrow tweezing. My eyebrows have never looked so good! Prices are great considering so many salons and spas charge a lot more for the same services. I will be back! read more

You know how you go to the salon and you're trying to explain to the stylist what you want and they ACT like they get it, but well, they do not. I have found the perfect stylist Lyn is the BEST! She listens. She gets it. I always get a perfect cut and perfect color every single time. She knows my hair type, which is wavy and chin length. Her fingers just know where it's too thick and where it needs body and how to expertly cut my hair so that the ever present frizz is at bay! I am constantly complimented on my color, which is a dark brown with auburn highlights. Experience counts , and you can just tell Lyn has it. I strongly recommend Lyn! Hi, I rarely plan ahead for managing my hair, if I do, often I don't bother keeping the appointment. But, I was ready for a major change...needed that decades-old shoulder length layered bob to be transformed into a new perky short cut. The summer heat and my wish for a more carefree and athletic appeal; I dreamed of a funkier and fun short cut! I made the appointment 2 days ahead, for Friday evening...enough time for me to get used to the idea of CHANGE and really embrace the transition OR retreat back into the age-old and highly acceptable shoulder length bob that demanded a 45 minute, stair-stepped approach to hair products, various combs and hair dryers. Two days was just right, I was there, I was not making just a hair choice; but a statement (to myself) about freedom from the entanglements of a mediocre, predictable hair bob; looking forward to a birthday that will bring me into a new decade...albeit is still several months ahead. DIVO was perfect, despite the end of his day, nearing week's end, he met me, "head on", ready to guide me into a new look and transformation. He infused an artistic approach to the job; he put to rest the decades old, safe bob and gave new life to the perky short waves! I love it; but, I can also say I loved the spirit, experience, time and care DIVO gave. I suspect he knew my request was a little something more than a hair cut, I think he was glad to be a participant in helping to make a transition into something new, something untried and something of a new perspective on life! Called this morning and they were able to fit me in. Divo is excellent. I showed him a few photos of what I like and some of what I do not like. My hair was well past my shoulders and he gave me a great pixie cut. He used scissors , but mostly a razor to get great texture for my very straight and fine hair. When he finished, I asked him to go a little shorter in the back and with my hairline. Divo took his time and my hair looks great! It's always nice when the stylist has time to listen and you don't feel like they're rushing to the next appointment. So glad I found someone who knows what they're doing! I'll be going back when it's time for a trim. read more

Had a very unpleasant experience at Divo salon. Divo gave me a long bob, which started out fine. Then he grabbed the razor. I quickly said, "oh I don't want any razoring," to which he responded, "I know, but just right here." He then dragged the razor down the front pieces of my hair with no further discussion. I was stunned and felt very violated that he didn't listen to me at all and used a razor when I specifically said not to. I wish I had walked out of the salon right then. I sat there almost in tears while he dried my hair. I think he may have gotten a clue that I wasn't thrilled as he was drying my hair, because at that point he asked if I wanted a drink. Shouldn't he have asked me that when I walked in not when he's almost finished? To top it off, he used thinning shears on the ends of my dry hair, which I also didn't want. Everything I've read about razor cuts suggest they are terrible for fine, thin, frizzy hair, which is exactly what I have. I specifically told him I wanted a cut to give me volume, so why did he use thinning shears? There's nothing worse than a stylist that does whatever he wants. read more

Wonderful staff they do serve wine as well which is always a win win. I got the tropical pedicure. If you want the reflexology make sure you let them know because only one nail tech does that. Over all I and my friend who did the callus treatment pedicure were happy. read more

I've known Divo for a long time, before he opened his own shop. I ALSO worked along side with him and I personally know he's an amazing stylist. My sister and I both get our hair done by Divo, and we can not be anymore of the opposite of each other. My hair is fine and super straight, while my sister has thick strands but A LOT of it. Divo is an artist in cutting and coloring hair. He listens to what you want done, and makes suggestions as well. I love that, as I go to an expert to cut my hair so I don't need to micromanage the cut. I've been going to Salon Divo for over a year, and know I can trust that I'll love my hair when I leave. My hair is fine, thin, and brown, with some gray. It needs a great cut and color to have shape and texture. Divo is focused and "in the zone" when he is cutting hair, and he is like that every time he cuts hair.
