By its appearance, the salon fools the customer in thinking they're entering a high end place while reality is the stylists and management are third rate. Despite its polished, upscale appearance, the experience does not live up to the image being sold. The salon operates with a noticeable nickel-and-dime mentality, charging extra for services many salons include as standard. After being a customer for a few years, they decided to charge me for hair color by weight! That was the straw that broke the camel's back! I would happily work with my stylist again in a different setting, but I would not return to this salon based on how it is run. The owner and management should focus less on appearances and more on transparency, training, and customer experience. read more

I want to acknowledge that the stylist, Helvy, was incredibly friendly, attentive, and communicative throughout the appointment. She checked in with me often and made the experience pleasant. However, this appointment was supposed to be a correction from a previous haircut I received last week from Rasha, and unfortunately the result was still uneven on both sides in length and thickness. The stylist wasn't able to achieve the look shown in the four photos I provided, and her boss needed to step in to finish the cut. Although the haircut was now even on both sides the front pieces are now 2.5-3 inches shorter than what I wanted and showed in my pictures so I will have to pin the front of my hair back for a couple months- definitely not the look I was going for with Thanksgiving and my birthday within 10 days. I absolutely DO NOT plan on going back to this salon. read more

My 11-year-old daughter had an appointment for a trim and style with Rasha, it was her first time seeing her. While my daughter's hair was cut, she says Rasha didn't have time to style it the way she wanted. I returned from traveling today and saw that her hair looked choppy. My daughter also told me Rasha made comments about her hair thickness that made her feel uncomfortable. I took her back to the salon the next day. The receptionist kindly offered to have her hair fixed at no charge, which we appreciated, as Helvy has always done a fantastic job. However, when Rasha came over, the tone shifted. She questioned our concerns, insisting it was "layers," and remarked that my daughter's hair had been "flat" yesterday so she didn't know what happened to it today. She repeatedly said, "But you wanted layers, right? You said you loved it, right?" She then told us she could fix it right away. My daughter shut down and became visibly uncomfortable, so we declined and left immediately. Since leaving, my daughter has been in tears, saying Rasha tried to deflect blame and made her feel small instead of addressing the issue with care. We will never go back! People who work in salons should know how to read the room, especially when working with children. The lack of sensitivity is heartbreaking! read more

RUDE!!!! Management is rude, the girl that cut my hair was nice. The cut was good, but WAY OVERPRICED!!!!! When I called in early November for a hair cut they told me the stylist that cut my hair before is booked til January...... WHAT??? who waits 2 months for a hair cut or calls that far in advance. That BS! I will not be returning. The reason for my comment about mgmt being rude... I took my 84 yr old mother there to get her hair done, the owner was rude to us and when we left never said a word to us and practically slammed the door in my mother's face while she went outside to water the plants at closing. She will be old some day and I hope people are just as rude and ignorant to her. Bitch!! You are not all that, your salon sucks and you should not charge the prices you do, this salon robs people. Today was my first appointment at DSK. Callie cut my hair. It turned out great. I'm very happy with it. While she washed my hair, she massaged my scalp. It was very relaxing. She was very polite and understood the style I was asking for. Management has a policy that you can't add a tip to your card purchase. You have to bring a check or cash. I wish the person scheduling me over the phone would have mentioned this to me. Luckily, I had enough cash on me for a tip. I read on their website that they offer a discount to first time customers. The front desk clerk did not apply it to my bill, even though she asked if I've ever been there before. I didn't realize this until I got home. If you go, make sure you double check before they charge your card. I think I'll return and ask for Callie. read more

The salon was clean however, the front desk was a bit slow to acknowledge me. I felt like the appointment was rushed which really is a reflection of management there. The price would be ok if I got what I wanted . Defiantly paid for what I got. My hair looked fine when I left curled but in its natural state strait it looked choppy and uneven. read more

I got a haircut and asked for a trim and got all my hair cut off! DORA SHOULD NOT HAVE A JOB A THIS PLACE!! She is rude and absolutely TERRIBLE BARBER, DOES NOT CARE WHAT YOU WANT, and JUST CUTS ALM YOUR HAIR OFF! I won't be able to go out in public for a few days because it is that bad! I went to this salon b/c it looked modern and posh. Unfortunately, although DSK appears to tout itself as an upscale place, it does not live up to its word. At first, the management/front staff is very friendly, but that fades quickly. Jenna is phony and rude! Most of the stylists are very young and inexperienced. I discussed with my stylist on the phone what I wanted for my color, and everyone said a single process would be fine. But when I got to my appointment, I was told I'd have to pay extra for a double process. She used a brush to yank and rip the knots out of my dry hair; it didn't occur to her to wet my hair and remove the knots gently. Then, she added my color and told me to wait in the drafty reception area by the register, and never informed me that there was a designated area with snacks and drinks for clients. While I waited, I browsed the retail area. I found a Gucci bag I thought I liked, but when I went to pick it up, I smelled petroleum and instantly realized the "designer" items were all overpriced, counterfeit knock-offs (isn't that illegal??) I recently started going here to check out their line of purses and clothing. I bought 3 or 4 things and then saw a knockoff Chanel wallet after shopping there a few times. The wallet was $70, so by no means a cheap knock off. I had it for 2 days and the zipper busted. It was not overstuffed. I went back in and told them. I said I'd be willing to exchange it and try a new one. The girl said some woman sells them out of their store and offers no returns or exchanges, even on damaged items. I told her I know the owner from a mutual friend and she promised she would call me. After almost 2 wks, still no call (typical of businesses..no making money, no care). She refused to exchange it. So here's my real issue. As a business owner I would tell this lady you fix this for my customer or you can't sell here. I'd also have my staff warn people it's all final sale. Lastly, even if she can't pull some strings and exchange it for me she should refund me partially. She made money off selling this garbage at her store. This is a small, independently owned salon that depends on locals like me. Terrible customer service. Overpriced, overrated and inhospitable. read more

I've had many bad experiences at this salon, the first incident I had was when I took my duaghter there in 2016, we went in for a tiny trim and they chopped all of her hair off. The next problem I had was recently, again I took my daughter back there for a blow out and flat iron and the stylist did not say a word to her the whole time she tells me and on top of that her hair became curly and frizzes after one day. Poor customer service (by management)...I went in early am to get my hair colored(platinum) and cut, after the color I went to get my hair cut that's when we (the sylist cutting my hair) noticed there were some patches of hair color that were "off" and very brassy is some areas. The stylists said well lets go back to the colorist to "tone" it.We we did a few times and the result was acceptable from what I could tell and I went to pay because it was just after 3pm and I just wanted to leave. The worst part wasn't the color but it was when I went to pay. I was charged the highest price I ever paid-just for color $150!! I've never paid that much for just color, when I asked for management she said I had to pay each time to correct the color!! huh?? She also denied seeing anything wrong with the color!! Mulitple stylists agreed it was off. Listen I understand things go wrong and Im okay with having things go wrong and fixing them the problem is paying to correct it!! I left unhappy and with a huge disappointment and dent in my wallet! ***at least the bleach didn't burn me like it does at other salons but then again maybe that's why it didn't work as well!! read more

Terrible experience. First it took them a week to get back to me with bridal package information. The salon called me to confirm my wedding trial and gave me the wrong time. When I showed up at the time they confirmed they said I missed my makeup trial and they were unable to accommodate me. They put zero effort into my hair trial and when I left the whole thing fell apart within 15 minutes. They curled my hair and the curls were only at the bottom two inches- I have never seen anything like it. I can't believe this place is in business after the disgusting experience I had. I went to get my hair cut and colored yesterday and, having never colored my hair before, I was very hesitant. I have significantly dark hair and was seeking for a change so I told the stylist that I was considering adding color and depth. She suggested coloring it a reddish brown that, once she died my whole head, only showed at the root. I went back the next day since I was unhappy with how much I paid for such a subpar color job. Not only did the staff accuse me of not having "virgin hair", which I made it clear that it was the first time I'd ever died my hair, saying that's why the color did not take. They additionally made me pay to have the rest of my hair match my roots, only this time they used a lightener on my hair- which they should have done in the first place. The customer service this time around made me extremely uncomfortable and I am confident in saying that I will never return. read more

I will definitely be back! Upon my first experience at Salon DSK I was greeted immediately with warm friendly faces and a beautiful open atmosphere. The salon it's self is chic and done in an upscale style in black and white and CLEAN. My stylist-Ashley Trymbiski was awesome. After greeting me at the entrance and taking me back to her station she offered me a beverage and talked to me about what I came to the salon for. Since I'm going through a grow in phase we looked at a few pics and decided on color then I went back to get my hair washed. Again, everyone was pleasant. Hair color and cut both went smoothly - Ashley is a warm, friendly person who wants to please you and give you the style you are looking for so she does not rush! I felt like a new person as I left.
