Salon EDGE is the right name for this tiny two-chair salon -- the hairdressers have edgy, punk pixie cuts of several bright colors; edgy tattoos; kindof-edgy 90's-Hot-Topic type outfits. The wall décor is crafted or from the DI, making for an authentic South Jordan Utah experience. I chose this salon over H2O at Fashion Place because it has better reviews and cuts hair at less than half the price. I went in for a trim and for help with some new clip-in extensions and my stylist Vanessa seemed new to cutting extensions but listened to all of my suggestions, even if it meant a lot more work and time than she probably anticipated. Aside from my special procedure, she and her sister working had a lot to say about products and hair care without seeming proud or patronizing. Everyone's their friend whom they want to help. They have a lot of regular clients, which is a good sign, and they actually introduced me to any new people walking in, which is the first time I'd seen that. It's more than a salon. People hang out here even after their appointments to chill with the stylists and order Jimmy John's. I had a positive experience and it was a great price for the labor she put in. She got it done. The place just isn't exactly a fashion show. read more

I debated for a long time before posting this review. I went with Linda and honestly she was so friendly and she did offer to fix the job which I elected not to do. So I feel guilty even typing this out. I asked for an appointment for a haircut that day and was told I could book one with Linda which I did. As it turns out my haircut was placed in between another girl's processing time, not what I was expecting for a $35 hair cut. I had also stated how long it typically takes a stylist to do my hair because I have a lot of hair and it takes a good hour for a normal hair cut on me. I asked for a trim and layers not taken too far up, keeping the layers no higher than my chin and the overall length just barely above my shoulders. I said I wasn't entirely picky but I needed to make sure it was long enough overall to pull into a ponytail. I came out with a weird form of an A cut bob up to my chin that looked cute when she curled it in the salon but when I flat ironed it the disaster of the hair cut became apparent. It was so short I couldn't pull it up in a pony tail and the layers were really chunky on one side of my head with some weird pieces sticking out and really well blended on the other. Basically not what I asked for at all, I am not sure if she was distracted by the other client or I just didn't convey clearly what I was looking for. After straightening it out I realized it wasn't even at all. I have been thinking of doing a pixie for a while, and since ponytails were now out, I went to a different stylist and just cut it all off. I kept it at a two star because honestly Linda was very sweet and I think she knew something was wrong when I walked out because I got a text message the following day asking how I liked my hair cut. I explained I wasn't happy after flat ironing it and she did offer to fix it at no cost but at that point I already had another stylist booked. I suppose it did give me the courage to do the pixie but I wasn't quite ready to take the plunge at the time. read more

I had a wonderful experience here! I got about 12 inches cut off of my hair and got a pixie which I had been wanting for years. Linda did such an amazing job and I am in love with my new hair. She made sure she was clear with her communication to make sure we're both on the same page. Needed to find a new stylist but was so scared of a bad cut that I hadn't done anything new and interesting with my hair in a long time! So, decided to try out Salon Edge and luckily Linda had an open appointment! She was very patient with me and friendly as I explained what I wanted. I think she could tell I was a little nervous to be trying a new person, but she did a great job and was very thorough and even gave me tips on how to style my cut. Andrea is so friendly and outgoing, she really makes you feel at ease. I had highlights, cut and style. My hair is black, Andrea put caramel highlights and I have blonde in as well. She really took the time to try to figure out what I want with my hair, I'm indecisive but she walked me thru my options and gave me a better idea of what the possibilities are. I found my new hair stylist! Andrea is great! She's friendly and welcoming and knew exactly what to do with my hair. She did a great job lifting my roots to achieve the blonde color that I wanted. She did a great cut and took off 6 inches from my hair. Their salon is a little hard to find. It's a small shop with two chairs and stylists. It's really cozy and clean. I definitely recommend Salon Edge and will be returning in the future! :-) read more

I randomly found this place because it was close to me and my normal hairdresser was all booked up. And I'm very glad I found them! It was honestly one of the best hair cuts I've gotten in a long time! It only took about 30 mins when my other person takes hours! I went and saw Andrea based on her yelp reviews and she was great! She's easy to talk to, great at what she does and super fast!!

Vanessa was kind enough to take me last minute and on a Monday . The salon is a bit hard to find but once you go there you won't forget . It's located inside a building with other salons. Vanessa was able to match my color perfectly and was fast and efficient. The trim was great too. I will come back for a full color and highlights for sure . She was friendly and the salon was clean a neat . Highly recommend! read more

If you aren't familiar with this place I beg you don't go. She will mess your hair up horribly and you will have to pay her again to fix her horrible cuts. If she is rushed she won't care and the quality is horrible. The stylist was Andrea. She has no clue how to do a melting ombré, it was not blended at all and I ended up going to a higher end salon and every single lady there said my hair was butchered. I wouldn't recommend family or friends here, please find a place that cares. read more

So I decided wanted to get haircut and colored after work but unfortunately I didn't find any hair salon that opens around that time so I was searching through the web and found out about this place. I gave them a call but nobody answered, in fews minutes later I got a text from Andrea, I asked her if I can get service today she said she's not able to do it today but her other stylish named Linda said she will do it tomorrow, from what I see on the reviews she didn't have much reviews as much Andrea but I was desperately wanting to get my haircut so I decided to give a try with her. Linda texted me asking what kinda haircut and colored I want to do and we set the time. The next day I went to the place the salon itself was inside the building so it took me a bit to find it after 10 minutes Linda showed up she friendly introduce herself and apologized to me for being late. The salon was in the room it was small but cute with all decorations,had chairs for 2 people, one of my favorite was the chandelier in the middle. For my haircut I asked for long layer and to fix my chopped hair like, and for the hair color, to do me some blonde highlights since my hair was previously colored she warned me about not able to achieve the color on the picture. Her work was quick and smooth I also had great conversation with her. Final resort on my haircut and color I liked my haircut because it was no longer chopped hair like and had layers like I wanted as for the hair color I didn't like it, she did ombre hair but it was way far from the actual hair color I wanted she said if i want to achieve the color that I want I have to come back again to get the color but of course I have to pay again so she recommended me to use purple shampoo to get rid of the orange/brassiness. The next day I notice that the color was too orange and seems like doesn't blend as I was going to text her Linda texted me asking how I was feeling with the service I told her my honest opinion she kindly offer me that she will fix it. Few days later I went again to get my hair fix she added more highlights on top so it looks more blendable and toned my hair to make it no so orange. I'm giving out 4 star because she had to fix her work but other than that her work service was great she was very friendly, she offered me candy she put them in front of me and told me to have as many so I did lol that was favorite since I love chocolate! she made me feel like she does care I will definitely will be back again to her. thanks Linda you were wonderful! read more
