I went in to salon Gardez hoping for a miracle. The night before my engagement photo shoot I got a big flare up on my face. She's SUPER patient when we try to make an appointment with my hectic schedule and most importantly, she is absolutely amazing at doing my eyebrows. I always leave with perfectly shaped but natural-looking brows. With her recent move to Salon Gardez, I made an appointment to have her cut my hair and it was the BEST decision ever. I've been wanting to try a new hairstyle but didn't want to make a drastic change and Santoshi definitely helped me achieve that. Stephanie is my go to Girl for hair. I was tired of my old stylist not paying any attention to my needs and never really getting what I wanted. I had high hopes for this place because someone recommended it to me but they weren't very professional. It was my first time there so I was looking to talk to someone, instead you leave your number and they get back to you. Well that took them awhile. When I finally booked my appointment I was told that I was suppose to text them at arrival and wait in my car until they gave me the clear to go in because of covid. Well I did. I got there on time and texted them. I got a automatic message saying they'd get back to me shortly. I have been coming here for 6 years now and they're the best. Everyone is really nice and professional. The establishment is always kept clean (i.e. No dusty bottles that are on display for sale, no hair on the floor for long periods of time). Angie is amazing! I have so much hair and I've done so much with it (done black dye from box dye, self shaved my hair at home) and she always knows what to do with it to fix it up. She goes with the flow and does what you want. The prices are modest for the effort that goes into their work. I've been to other salons and this one has never disappointed me. Take in mind that I walked in with JET BLACK HAIR ...So I knew that this was going to be a challenge. I had been dying my hair black for 20 years . I was a little bit nervous at first, but after amazing work from someone with experience. I got exactly what I wanted.. They used the best products and they left my hair looking shiny and healthy I would also like to add that during my visit there a bride-to-be was there and they did her make up and they styled her hair and she look amazing. Came across this salon via a Groupon deal. Haircut, deep conditioning treatment, and blow dry/style for $39. I arranged to get serviced by Janeth. Upon arrival, I waited 30mins for her to attend to me since she was with another client. She took me to get my hair washed where I was placed in the most uncomfortable and awkwardly positioned washing stations with a huge TV BAM, in your face. It hurt my neck and there was no way to get comfortable in that position. But I was stuck there for a mediocre shampooing and deep conditioning for 15mins. Afterwards, she took me back to her chair where she proceeded to cut my hair. I asked for a short bob and if she could flat iron it. She did a quick and accurate job. She was minimally nice nothing above and beyond. Not sure if I'd go back, if so, perhaps with another stylist? The decor is clean and modern and the music was good so kudos for that. read more

The workers are also really friendly and will make sure that you are extremely pleased with your results and I most definitely was! I cheated. Yes, I have once again cheated on my stylist over at my usual salon in Long Beach. And as horrible as I feel for cheating on her I can't say I regret it. I was driving back and forth all day only having to drive some more later that night totaling in over 100 miles and I just could not for life of me get myself to drive to Long Beach for a hair cut. Then again I just could not for life of me go out to GNO without a hair cut as my hair had grown so much that my hair would fall flat and not hold any volume. So I yelped. Honestly, for me, making an appointment and coming here was a gamble. I seriously contemplated on just either canceling or flaking out of my appointment because I felt it was so risky going to a salon that doesn't really have many pictures of their work and not many recent reviews from clients either. I don't know what it was, but something just told me to bite down those feelings of anxiety and go. Angie (coincidently the same name as my regular stylist in LB) was my stylist, she was very helpful and friendly while making my appointment over the phone. She was even more friendly when I called while stuck in traffic to tell her I was going to be 15 minutes late. Well, turned out to be more like 20 minutes when I got there, but she didn't have a stink face or stink attitude (which I would have deserved because it was my bad). She washed my hair and using Pureology shampoo & conditioner, I don't really remember how I liked the shampooing just because I was busy watching TV the whole time (a plus if you get a bit awkward not knowing if you should chat with the stylist or close your eyes or whatever..). I'm so used to going to my regular girl who knows exactly what to do when I tell her to give me the usual that I didn't think to bring a picture for Angie. Thankfully I know how my mass of fine hair acts that I know exactly how I want my hair cut. As I sat having Angie work her magic, I was put at comfort with Angie's friendly, outgoing personality. I'm usually talkative, but when around new people I tend to get shy & timid making for a very awkward first meeting. But not with Angie, she's awesome! As she shampooed my hair she had asked me if I was going out that night and when I told her that actually I was, she took the time to blow dry my hair (round brush, curled ends & all) then, she gave me beautiful, big curls like Kim K. Awesome customer service if you ask me! Would I come back? Yea maybe... Although, I think I might try out all the stylists just to see before I commit. First of all they use Pureology & Moroccan Oil hair products as well as Redken hair color. Honestly, try finding a salon that uses all 3... I've been looking for years until now! Price for a haircut is only $35...around this area like Fullerton, Brea, Rowland Heights, Long Beach, Orange, etc (at the higher end salons, not mom&pop $10 ones) they charge from $45 - $90 for a haircut. And sorry to say, I don't find most of them worth the money because the end results and products they use aren't even at the level they should be at for those prices...I wouldn't even pay the $35 that Gardez charges at some of those places! read more

When you find a good stylist, you become a client for life. i have threatened to become Gil's stalker if he stops doing hair! Not only that, but my mother, my husband, my teenage daughter and teenage son are all Gil's clients. The man has cut my kids' hair since they were tots. And that is no easy feat. Both my children are autistic. Gil has been utterly patient and kind to both of my children and they trust him completely. They will see no one else. Gil's a color genius! If I could give this place 10 stars I would. I showed up to the salon about 6 weeks ago with the most disgusting hair on the planet. I needed beyond corrective treatment, then color and I really wanted highlights. Danny, I believe Henry and Janeth were a bazillion, gazillion times professional, kind and so incredibly patient with my insanely complicated and non compliant hair. They explained to me that in order for me to not leave the salon bald as an eagle that I would have to come back a few times to let my hair rest (my hair is baby fine / thin and fragile). This was not my first rodeo in a salon so I kind of understood the process and was happy to oblige. I paid for my treatment and what I wanted and they never, ever charged me again. I showed up again two weeks later, and they duked it out with my color again and by this time the disgusting faded red was laughing at us; but Danny, Henry and Janeth were determined to turn my frown upside down. I showed up for my third and final appointment; at first it seemed like the poo poo faded red was going to get the last laugh, but then we decided to move on to Plan B which was risky but these guys are total professionals; after the lengthy bleaching process - they gave me a Keratin treatment and another Argan oil treatment at no extra charge (because they genuinely care about the integrity of my hair). Although I did not get exactly what I wanted (their Beauticians NOT Magicians) - I definitely walked out a happy camper and a life long client. I live in San Gabriel, but I would be an idiot to go anywhere else. It is worth the drive. They are super duper nice, professional, but more importantly integrous. It is hard to find businesses where integrity and customer satisfaction really is their #1 objective, but at this salon they have nailed it. The prices are very reasonable especially when they are determined to give you the look that you want, plus they give you complimentary wine, coffee, water or tea and the decor is very nice. Janeth who is a licensed stylist would wash my hair also and she would dry my hair out and prep it for Danny. Sarina's seems to be a bit of a premadonna and because this salon DOES attend to you hand and foot, but they work as a TEAM. I made an appointment as a FIRST TIME client with Danny. I arrived at my appointment on time, I was told to have a seat and my stylist would be right with me, 15 mins. later, I was still waiting. During the time I waited, there was no acknowledgement from the stylist who was only a few feet away from where I was seated. I keep a very busy schedule, but I always make sure that I arrive at my appointments on time. I became highly annoyed, and walked out. I have little to no tolerance for such unprofessional behavior, especially given the fact that this salon's prices for services are high.
