The bride checked out Michelle's work and decided to hire Michelle for herself (no bridesmaids/mothers/girls). Michelle did mention she has a partner, but we didn't go that route. The bride did the bridal trial with Michelle at a studio in San Gabriel. On the wedding day, the bride asked Michelle to push back an hour so she could sleep in more! Then Michelle came back later before the reception for a touch up for the dress change (for an additional fee). I believe Michelle made the bride look SO GORGEOUS. I still can't get over how good she looked!!! Michelle did the hair soo well too. I highly recommend Michelle for Asian faces! (The bride has monolids and did not use eyelid tape for double lids.) I got her service for my Christmas party, but her makeup made me look older, and worse than my regular makeup and had to remove all her makeup before going to my party. I told her makeup didn't look good on me, but she was forcing to say "it looks good on you, what's wrong with you?, your eyes are small anyway, you want me to do surgery for you?" From my experience, she wasn't talented and as a makeup artist, you should be able to choose the right makeup look depending on every kind of eye shape.. However, I wasted my money for nothing.. and received an insult from her calling my eye shape is not good.. plus, she was in a hurry, and she just wanted to finish in an hour (1 hour) and didn't even wanna help me to fix her makeup right before my party. Because of her, I was late for my party, cuz I had to remove everything and redo my own makeup by myself. She was really easy to communicate with, so prompt in all her correspondences, and very accommodating, which I greatly appreciated given the little lead time I gave her. I had a giant cystic pimple under my nose and she was able to conceal it perfectly. Long overdue for this review but better late than never! I booked Michelle to do my makeup for our engagement session back in September. We flew in from out of state and went straight to get my makeup done at 11am. I was soooo tired from the flight and had bags under my eyes. Michelle did such a great job! My makeup was very natural looking and you wouldn't have known that I was up since 3am that morning. Michelle was so nice and made me feel very comfortable. She also did a little touchup on my fiancé. I was really worried about not finishing our makeup or hair in time because our photo shoot location was in Santa Ynez. However Michelle and her assistants made sure everything was done in time. We drove to Santa Ynez for two hours, the photoshoot was another two hours and then drove back to LA for another two hours. I told her what time my event started and she made note so we could be there on time. Once we showed up to the beauty salon, her associates did our hair (my mom got a blow out and I got beachy waves) and she did our make up. I thought I must have caught the artist at a bad time because such lack of professionalism is unheard of, but apparently others have run into similar situations. Confirmed for a trial date, a day before I sent a text to confirm only to found out she's out of town for an emergency. called it a "misunderstanding", said "i thought our date is". understandable personal things happen, but totally unprofessional. after confronted with text evidence agreed to reschedule, never followed up. refused to refund when I finally took the initiative to reach out well before the wedding. how do you expect me to believe you set aside my wedding date when you couldn't even honor the trial appointment... deposit is to protect artists from changed minds not to scam customers. sincerely hope the artist treats other people more respectfully. read more
