I cannot recommend the MUST team enough. I knew I wanted to work with a Korean hair and makeup team so I researched everywhere on google, reached out to 3-4 different places, and ultimately decided to book a trial with MUST due to their years of experience and reasonable prices for travel (I got married near Carlsbad, CA). After the trial, I knew I could trust them with not just me but my bridal party + moms for the big day. I planned my wedding without a planner. So it was a little daunting to try and set my timeline for the morning of the wedding. I got wedding makeup done for myself (bride), groom, and both mothers. I truly felt that it would have been better if I did my own makeup. She did not look closely at any of the 5 pictures I sent and I actually looked and felt like a clown. I wanted a soft Korean look with not much around the eyes and it was the opposite- glitter on top of glitter, lots of stuff going around the eyes that I did not want. The hair was bad too. It was literally just a bun with a bunch of hairspray after splitting my hair. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I mentioned my dissatisfaction in the middle, she just said it's because she didn't put airbrush on me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] But even after all of that it didn't look anything like what I wanted. I went home after and cried before putting on my dress because I looked like a disaster, it was nothing like what I wanted, and was my worst nightmare as a bride and it wasn't cheap either. Oh and my husband's and mother in law's makeup were also done pretty badly and they did not like it one bit. Overall, I really wish I went with another place because it felt very amateur here. I regret it insanely and did not feel beautiful at all on my big day. Spend your money elsewhere. *In response to the owner's message: I'm actually appalled. I'm just going to state the facts and that's it. Fact #1: I was never told about a "trial run". And a trial run does not make sense. Why would I hire a professional if they needed a "trial run" to get my desired look? Spending 1k to do a trial run and then spending another 1k for an official make up...? And also making a blatant lie about suggesting a trial run. Fact #2: My mom did not show any picture whatsoever. The whole process was this: they asked me what style I wanted and I sent pictures and they said they would do exactly what I sent them. There was no mention whatsoever about my "mom's suggestion". EVEN IF SHE DID, wouldn't a professional clarify with the bride of what she wants? Fact #3: Multiple mentions of tip. Was very uncomfortable and coerced into giving tip Also, the business owner has my number. They are SO good at working with your facial features and your skin/hair texture, and every time I get my makeup done with them I'm obsessed with the products they use. I always walk out of their salon looking glowy and fresh - never cakey or unnatural like I've experienced at other places! I also appreciate how the artists know how to work with my monolids without overdoing it on eyeshadow and eyeliner. Hello everyone, TLDR: Extremely dissatisfied , pressure about tip, and disrespectful service. I was a groom to be on November 29, 2025. My mom, my mother in law, and my now wife received services on that same day. The service I received was extremely extremely disappointing. First, my wife had a terrible experience. She asked for a particular style but did not receive it and instead they did whatever they pleased to her hair/make up. She wanted a light touch up with not much make up on her eyes but she received a lot of make up on her eyes. She was extremely not happy about how she looked and I was so excited to see her finally in make up. I was in need of local professional make-up and hairstyling for a wedding I was attending. I found MUST MakeUp Hair through Yelp, and was so grateful this studio was so accommodating with my event schedule. Communication was efficient and convenient. They required inspiration pictures and recent self photos so they could also have an idea of my face shape, skin tone, and hair length/type. When it came to the appointment, I was assisted by Mina for my makeup and Yongsun for my hair. What I initially described that I wanted (I tend to like a more natural makeup look) and what I shared as my inspiration (my inspo photos were much more glam than natural) contrasted with my skin tone/overall look (I have a fair complexion and dry skin), so Mina suggested a look (cateye with glitter) that highlighted my features without making me look overdone. I trusted her completely! And the outcome was truly amazing! Not only did the makeup make me look and feel 10 years younger, but it felt lightweight and as though I was not wearing any makeup. Note: Come in with a clean face, don't apply anything just before the appointment. Sidenote: Moisturize daily! I don't take very good care of my skin as I forget to take care of myself since I'm focused on getting my kids ready and out the door so I moisturize my face very infrequently. I was impressed by Mina's ability to control her hand while applying my eye makeup because I'm not used to eyeliner or false lashes, so I teared a lot. I eventually got used to it, but Mina knew exactly what to do to create an even cat-eye look and encouraged me to blink my eyes to avoid my eyes from getting dry. She is very skilled! Yongsun, or Sun, is a talented hairstylist and compliments Mina's makeup artistry really well! They are a good team/duo together! I had sent hair inspo photos of two similar styles, and Sun understood the concept: a textured bun, which might sound simple but she worked her magic with my hair length. I have very long, thin Asian black hair with outgrown layers that reaches my mid-back and usually doesn't hold curls well. (Quick note: Come in to your appointment with clean, dry hair if possible. I literally just showered before going to my appointment so my hair was a little damp. She dried it out for me, but if you're crunched on time, it helps to have dried hair already.) How she was able to pin up my hair and create the volume I wanted in the bun--without adding any extensions--was amazing and she exceeded my expectations. Last minute, I had bought a floral hair comb that I wanted placed in my hair above the bun, and she did that for me too. Until the last minute when I got picked up, she worked on the hair strands that were framing my face to try and keep the curl in. She knew what to do, and I trust her completely. Overall, I was very pleased--and still am--with MUST MakeUp Hair and their ability to make me feel and look beautiful. They are passionate about their work, and it shows. Even if you're not sure what look you are looking for, trust the process, have faith in them, and seek their guidance. They will help you, and the outcome will be perfect. I appreciate that they book appointments only, because you don't feel rushed and they can attend to you. Finding the right make up and hair for our family photo shoot was already stressful enough in finding the right photographer but also make up and hair specialists to help wrap all things up together. Director Sung was kind enough to take on all 4 of us for a 2 day shoot. My wife and kids each were looking for a certain look and they all got what they wanted....and more. In fact, she knew exactly how to make things "pop" in the pictures for all of us. We felt incredibly comfortable and felt very welcomed. Let's be honest, photo shoots can be a daunting experience and even can be stressful. However, Must MakeUp and Director Sung were super kind and professional in making this process as painless as possible. As for me, I had fears of over-make up and crazy Korean hairstyle which I expected many other asian make-up places would choose to do.... only to be proven completely wrong. My make up was very natural and in the final pictures, it came out better than I had imagined! My now wife got her hair and make up done here. The hair and make up was okay but my wife told me that they had a mandatory 20% tip policy. It's my understanding that tip is extra and it's given upon the buyer's discretion. I find it very odd that a tip was demanded and they wouldn't run the credit card unless the tip was added. It kind of felt like a scam. Please understand that tip is not mandatory and that it is simply optional. Demanding tip and not processing payment until the tip was added is not professional. The M.U.S.T. team did a fabulous job doing hair & makeup for bride, groom, family and our bridesmaids, tailoring the makeup style to each client while bringing out each person's natural beauty. The team was punctual, friendly and a pleasure to start off our morning. The team really makes you feel beautiful, not just through makeup, but through their genuine positivity. My hair & makeup was completed at 11am, and the wedding festivities finished around 11pm. Both the hair & makeup stayed in terrific shape even after 12 hours. Very minimal touch-up was needed (some lipstick due to all the kissing photos) and just a small bit of powder (due to smiling all day for photos). They put together a custom touch-up kit for you, and this was all I needed. We had three makeup & hair artists come to our Airbnb to get ready in Temecula (Sung Park, Jiae Song & Esther). Was a perfect start to our morning. 100% would recommend if you want to look and feel beautiful in a stress free manner. And the lashes are done by Jenny (The Better Skin Care & Lash). I got a recommendation from the LA must makeup by sung team for eyelash extensions with Jenny at the Fullerton location. Jenny is very meticulous and detailed. I'm pretty picky about the direction of my eyelashes, the thickness, distribution etc. Also during covid I just felt uncomfortable being so close to anyone. She wore a mask the whole time and the room is clean and has a comfortable chair area. She made sure I was at a good temperature too which can honestly make or break an experience if you're cold or hot. I've got to say although it is a bit of a drive from Irvine I am definitely going back if/when I need refills or decide to do them. They're a good balance between visible/wispy but not too overdone and the ones I got are soft not stiff and not heavy. It's day two going on three and I def even rubbed my eyes during my sleep I feel but more than 90% still on. I've gone to alot of eyelash extension places in the past where they fell out too soon/right away but so far so good.
