I have been a loyal client and have referred her tons of business because I knew she was starting a new business out on her own. But after yesterday, my opinion has changed dramatically. Her business has increasingly been going downhill and her behavior toward her clients worse and worse. Yesterday she told me to BLOWDRY MY OWN HAIR. The only reason I obliged was because I was in so much shock. She took me an hour late and then went 2 hours over time when I told her I needed to be somewhere 15 minutes later and had to meet a client of my own. List of shocking behavior: 1. Insulting me 2 appointments ago as to why I went a few months without seeing her. I considered leaving her then. I should have. 2. She has no respect for your time. Increasing wait time (up to 1 hr). She turned away a client and made her come back 3 hours later. 3. Double booking and forgetting to schedule you in. (This has happened twice.) 4. Only cares about your money. She told the client before me that her credit card machine was broken but took mine 1.5 hours later after confronting her about her unprofessional behavior. 5. Her work has been getting worse. My haircut is not as great as it was a few years ago. There are many other better colorists who blend better than her and know how to do balayage much better than her. Dont waste your time here. I dont know why I kept going back. Her haircut is okay but you can find better. Her techniques and styles are outdated. I was shopping around for a new stylist, but I only went back because I was hoping my suspicions weren't true and I was used to her at this point. But suspicions of her unscrupulous behavior were proven correct. Debrah doesn't care about her clients. She has no integrity. And her work no longer warrants what she charges. If I am giving you my money, I expect respect. I asked around to see if I was imagining things. I felt so hurt and undervalued. But everyone agreed with me. You DO NOT treat your clients like this. Your client is there by CHOICE. And we also have the CHOICE not to be your client anymore. Don't get so comfortable that you feel you can disrespect people like this. Let this be a lesson. Be warned.

We felt welcomed immediately and were offered something to drink. Tanisha was so nice and funny. She definitely knows her stuff and took so much time listening to what both of us were looking to have done. Tanisha explained all the different types of extensions that are available, which ones would be good for my daughter's hair, and the price for each. She had so much patience and answered all of our questions with kindness. She made sure we had all of the necessary information that we needed to make the decision that we felt would be best, and at no point did we feel pressured to go with the most expensive option, like we have at other salons. I am also beyond thrilled with my haircut and blowout! My daughter and I will be going back to Tanisha in 2 weeks to get our hair colored, and then about a week after that, my daughter will be getting her extensions. The prior owner was also a great-qualified person and clearly looked for someone to bring this shop to a new level. Karina and team has done that. She is not just a store owner but an active stakeholder in this community and it shows all around. You see this magnified in her smile. This is a big bright shop and you can see that all the people here are comfortable being part of this "electricity in the air spot." There is no parking lot but plenty of street parking both on Jericho Tpke and the surrounding roads. I came here for one topic and wound up sitting in the chair for a haircut... it was not planned. Karina just makes you feel so comfortable and is definitely a detailed oriented perfectionist. From what you see here, her entire staff follows that same model. I could not recommend Willows Cove Boutique any more. They are truly a gem of a store in our great community. Karina is also involved in other area of philanthropy with our local Kiwanis Club which just goes to increase her value and a shop owner here. I scheduled an appointment online for a wash and blow-dry, with the advertised price clearly listed as $38. Upon arriving for my 12:00 PM appointment with my two young daughters, I greeted the two male employees at the front desk. Neither acknowledged my greeting. When I informed them that I had an appointment, one responded in an aggressive tone, asking "For what?!" I clarified that it was for a wash and blow-dry. He then demanded "How many?!" and when I said it was just one appointment, he loudly instructed me to "Go wash!" while pointing toward the back. As this was my first visit, I asked for clarification, and only then did a female employee approach me. The female staff member asked to see my hair, as I was wearing a head covering. My natural hair texture is soft, manageable, and would not take longer than thirty minutes to wash and blow-dry. However, upon viewing my hair, she immediately stated that the cost would be $100--more than double the advertised price. When I asked why my service would cost $100 when the posted rate was $38, she replied that "this type of hair" required that charge. At no point on the website or during booking was it indicated that pricing was "starting at" $38 or that texture-based surcharges applied. I refused the discriminatory upcharge and chose not to proceed with the service. I have attached both a copy of my booking confirmation and a photo of my hair for reference, to illustrate how unreasonable the $100 charge was. In addition to the blatant price discrimination, the staff were unprofessional, dismissive, and the premises smelled strongly of cigarette smoke--further reflecting the lack of professionalism. This conduct is unacceptable. It reflects racially discriminatory business practices and constitutes false advertising. I will be pursuing further action, including filing a civil complaint. This type of business has no place in Lynbrook or any community.

I got nervous because she was going in pretty short and haphazardly but she seemed like she knew what she was doing. & then she blew dry it, I hated it. I spoke up and pointed out the areas that looked nothing like the image. It was shaggy, choppy and quite honestly the curtain bangs looked like how when I tried cut my own bangs.
