I love my beautician...Gloria. she always makes me look beautiful. The shop is clean and organized. Parking is in the open Barclay Plaza. Prices are very fair. I've been coming here for years because I followed Gloria when she moved. They offer several services besides color and cut, ie nails, waxing, pedicures . Free coffee and tea. Shop is remodeled within last 2 years. Busy shop. Make appointment. Also barber is here. Very friendly people. Nice place to unwind and feel good. Not very upscale but prices reflect that. They do not have enough stars to rate this salon!!! I have been going to Lindsey Holup @hair_by_lah for years and she is my hair god! When I started going to her I had dark reddish brown hair and she slowly and safely transformed me to the blonde tone I am and love today. I have been icy blonde as well as many different tones and each time I leave in love. The front desk is also so kind and helpful, I know at times I am the worst to get in for a touch up but they always manage to get me in. I would be lost without Lindsey and this salon. read more

This salon is amazing to go to for hair, but nails... not so much. I got my nails done about a week ago, and somehow, 3 acrylics already fell off. I understand this place is move commonly known for their hair, but I wouldn't ever go here for my nails again. I have gotten my nails done SOO many times before, and they have never EVER fallen off this early and this easy. I have had my nails stay on while working, doing dance, doing drama, etc, but I did NOTHING, and they already came off. I would 100% go here for hair, but nails, I waste my money here again. read more

Came here 2 years ago for Lindsey, asked for a TRIM, left with 6 inches cut off!!! My hair has never grown back. I never really leave reviews but I can't believe the one haircut I got would ruin my hair forever :( I regret tipping a generous $40 when I left in hysterics. They couldn't even do anything to fix it because she cut it all off! Not that they were kind or even tried to help. ***edit*** 3 years later--my hair still has not grown back. Have gone to hands on for years. Showed the hair stylist a picture of what I looked like and came out orange and brassy. Went home and cried because of how bad it looked. Contacted the salon to get it fixed and they refused to fix it. They made me send pictures of my hair and claimed that I got it fixed and it looked fine. They refused to fix it. They offered me a free product but told me I can't come back to the salon. $200 later I will never go back there. Customer service is HORRIBLE. read more

I should have listened to my friend when she told me to NOT to go here because her stylist Frankie ruined her hair by dying it a color she did not choose off the palette AND left the dye on too long so that she was left with a scalp burn! And guess what, THEY STILL MADE HER PAY FULL PRICE! Why did I not listen?! Folks, go elsewhere! I had a haircut before Memorial Day weekend and could not even leave my house! It was uneven and she was annoyed when I asked her to even it so the sides match in the front. Definitely not what I asked for! I think my 8 year old could have done a better job! Hands On Salon is a great experience. Franki is an amazing stylist, and I love how they take before & after photos! I came in wanting to be blonder, and she delivered! I went to another stylist afterwards (Metro Salon) and she did not do as great of a job as Franki! Lindsey is an amazing stylist! I've had bad luck with stylists in the past, but I am so glad I found her! The salon is clean, the women who work there are always friendly, and making appointments is quick and easy. I got a mani pedi from Nicole. Firstly, the pedicure was done without any interest and she didn't even scrub my feet or do anything but soak my feet. Then when she got to my hands, I asked for square shape and she made them all crooked. The tip was straight across but she almost made my nails crooked and hexagon shaped. When I asked her to correct it, she said it is the shape of my nails and not her fault and to let her finish before I criticize her work. Well. She finished. And still diagonal nails. read more
