Fouziya has been doing Magic Sleek for my hair twice a year for about 3 years now, and I'm so lucky I found her. I've tried other chemical straightening methods but magic sleek is the only one that doesn't completely flatten my hair and leaves it healthy and straight with a little body. Salon L'eau and Tasha made a mistake when they underestimated me. They sold me faulty, bleached, damaged machine-weft extensions under the false pretenses they were genuine 24-inch, blonde, HAND TIED extensions. Tasha also installed these extensions with too large of beads that has caused my immense headaches, as well as hair falling - YAY! I have given Tasha and the owner immense opportunities to make this right. They have refused and they have crossed the line. You can damage my hair (that grows back), but don't you dare accuse me of lying. Salon L'eau and the owner NEVER offered a refund!! Tasha never worked with me on a refund. Everyone at this salon has been UNPROFESSIONAL and downright RUDE. The only reason why I received a refund was because of my credit cards. I saw Kate at Salon L'Eau for balayage, and she is by FAR the best colorist I've been to in DC. I've lived here my entire life, had my hair colored for 20+ years by 10+ different colorists, and not one was nearly as good as Kate. She's skilled, professional, she listens, and she knows how to execute what you want. I provided pics and a general description, and she understood immediately. She accomplished exactly what I'd been looking for, and it honestly looked even better than the pics I'd shown her. I saw her a month ago and never in my life have I gotten so many compliments on my hair. I am SOO happy to have found her, I really cannot recommend her highly enough - I can't wait to go back! Update: The salon reached out to me after I posted my review. Apparently my email to them had gone into spam. I spoke to Carlos and he was very empathetic about my experience. He refunded me for my cut and offered to help pair me with another stylist and give me my next cut for free. I went back a few months later and got a cut from Elisa, who was fantastic. The stylists here here are amazing and spa is fantastic. The prices do seem to have recently gone up. I wish the front desk was more welcoming and friendly - they are often not accommodating when asking for changes and are not apologetic if they make an error on scheduling, etc which has occurred. Parking is a nightmare. Nothing will guarantee that you will be able to arrive on time to your appointment even if you arrive 20 minutes before the salon location. For sure you will have to park illegally as many people do. This situation will not give me the peace of mind that I need at the moment of visiting the salon. I use the services of the following hairdressers. My experience: - LoAnn the owner is great for haircuts but she does not know how to handle and dry texture hair. LoAnn has a great personality but I feel that she doesn't have resolution skills. - Tasha is great with texture hair (Hair-Color, Blow-Dry, and others) but Tasha R is a very inconsistent person with your appointments. She has some extra professional activities outside Salon Leau meaning that the salon customers are not her priority so she will cancel your appointments one after the other without any notification and consideration. You will not be able to count on her for any personal event in your life (birthdays etc). I believe her ways of treating a good customer are rude and unprofessional. EYES WIDE OPEN LoAnn how can you allow an unethical hairdresser to play with your business revenue and reputation. - Kate D: Stay away from this hair-dresser. Very rude, arrogant, and lack professionalism. Do not care about customers' suggestions. Work with angry manners on your hair (Burn me more than twice with a flat iron and blow dryer). I got the vibe from her that she only likes working with white people's hair. On May 26, I call and talk to Carlos, Tasha gives the confirmation a week ago of some specific days for my appointments in June. When I follow up today from 3 appointments only one. Never notify me. The same mess. I truly believe there is some double standard behind all this. I just cancel all my appointments (around 10) and I will not be returning to Salon Leau. There are too many great salons with better principles and hairdressers in Georgetown. Places with better manners and better customer-friendly business hours. The text was too apologies for the situation of her busy schedule and her views on some points that she did not agree with me regarding my review here. The only person that has a chronic cancellation issue is your hairdresser Tasha. She cancels my appointments one after another because of her traveling and other out of salon activities (very often). That is rude and a lack of professionalism from both part from her as the hairdresser and from you LoAnn for not caring enough. Tasha does not care about engaging and holding YOUR clientele. And regarding Kate, she needs to go back to school to re-train herself again on how to treat customer hair properly and also needs to go to a charm school to polish her manners. I moved to DC in January 2022 and have a very bright red balayage. I went for a consultation two weeks before and told the stylist specifically what I wanted and even gave her the formula my hair stylist in Texas used to get me to my red. I went today for my appointment and I'm very sad. It's so much darker. It's not even a little bright. It's almost an auburn and I wanted fire engine red. And my haircut isn't the greatest. I was even more disheartened when I told her it's not as bright as I usually go and she said they didn't have my color. I totally get not having the color in stock, but she could've told me in advance. We could've rescheduled or I could've gone elsewhere. I spent so much money to be unhappy. To spoil myself, I added a pedicure. Both were fabulous. The outdoor space is lovely - really relaxing. The people are so nice and understanding. And the services were great. I thought I had my stylist picked out based on her 13 years experience, well written bio and a few stellar reviews. I was bitterly disappointed, because she let me walk out with a chin length chop, as if I had overgrown bangs. My entire hair was at mid-back length when I entered the salon and I did tell her I wanted my hair to be one length. Also, the layers she cut make my hair fall to the front, which I specifically told her I do not like! She left me with the feeling that she was over confident and didn't listen to me, even thought I gave her a lot of information about my hair and what I wanted my hair to do. I left the execution up to her because I relied on her experience. My guess is she might have done a better job if I came with a picture. To her defense I did ask for bangs and then changed my mind and just wanted a few framing layers. But I had no idea that would translate to the unmanageable mess that doesn't even flow with how long the back of my hair is. To make matters worse, I called a day later to try to get it fixed, but she wouldn't take me that day and the next available appointment could not be scheduled until four days later (she was available on three days later but at a time I could make it). Luckily I can at least sweep the chunk behind my ear. She did seem like a nice person, we had a great chat (my friend mentioned that it might have been distracting) and she did color my hair the color I asked for. I hope Valerie has better luck and becomes an immaculate stylist, she does seem to like what she is doing. But at $95, I really expected more quality, lesson learned. Kate D is an amazing stylist - she has done my hair for years and I have very thick and coarse hair. She has such a calming and attentive manner about her and very strong technical skills for work with my ethnic, difficult hair. Just when I think she has outdone herself with an amazing cut for me, I return back only to be more thrilled with my next style. She has also given me such a range of styles - She has helped me go from a beautiful caramel, to a deep chocolate brown, and even an amazing blond balayage. I cannot praise her work enough. Very nice salon. Well organized, lots of natural light. I wanted to change up my color a bit, so I had the roots tinted and some high and low lights and then a trim and blow dry. I felt like the stylist, Kay, listened and took account of what I wanted. Quite expensive but not outrageous for the service and ambience. I should also mention that when I originally went in to see the salon and make the appointment, the owner was in reception and showed me around and made suggestions for stylists that would suit me, which was a nice touch. read more
