I came in to town because tomorrow is my nieces graduation. I have not had time to get to the hair salon, but I really wanted to get an appointment prior to tomorrow. The Hair Gallery is conveniently located near the hotels here in Arlington near the bridge, and so I walked in to see if they could take me. The staff was very friendly and Fatima was available to cut my hair and touch up my color. Fatima listened to my wants and needs, and did my hair exactly as I wanted it to be done. It turns out she is the owner; she's terrific--courteous and professional, and highly experienced. Another aspect of the salon that I really liked is the high quality of their products. The processing time for the base color was only 15 minutes! I recommend The Hair Gallery and would go back if I am ever in town again and have a need for hair services! read more

This felt like a Great Clips haircut at triple the price. I came in for a simple trim, but the service was rushed, the attention to detail wasn't there, and the stylist seemed only half tuned in. No heat protectant was used before blow drying, my hair was pulled repeatedly, and I had to step in and explain how to fix choppy, uneven sections that should've been caught without me saying anything. The haircut turned out fine, but only because I advocated for myself the entire time. For the price, I expected a much higher level of care and professionalism. I write this review for ADRIANNA who was my stylist for my new do. I am so happy to have finally found a hair stylist with whom I feel I will be faithful to. Adrianna welcomed me and we went over hair colors. I wanted quite literally a purple pie man hair color but she politely (and not pushy) recommended a more subtle color which I am absolutely thrilled with. Having totally created a hair disaster in December 2008, there was not much Adriana could do for me in terms of changing my style dramatically, but for the first time in 8 months I feel my hair has life back into it! As for her personality, she's a gem. As odd as it sounds I feel like she actually cared about the well being of my hair and me as a person. She didn't push me aside and answered every question I had. I mean, EVERY SINGLE QUESTION. We even went over a plan for next month's hair color, hehe :-) The cut and color went quick. I *LOVED* the blow out she did. It wasn't just some boring, flat hairstyle. Oh hell no. She totally hooked it up! So much that I would go back if ever I needed a hair style. The salon as a whole is beautiful and there is street parking available... with meters so bring coins. The receptionist was nice and welcomed me by asking if I would like some water to tea. It was a very nice salon. I also saw a women getting a pedicure done and can vouch they sanitize their nail equipment. I also want to give this place big time kudos for being wheelchair accessible as so many salons in this area are not. I just got my haircut and I was very annoyed that the person who cut my hair didn't ask before using product or deciding how to style it at the end. I think she thought she was doing something nice for me when she decided to start blow drying it with curls, but I realized what was happening too late to ask her to stop. It took forever and my back was really hurting. I had to dump my water bottle over my head when I got outside to straighten it out. Bottom line the hairdressers should ask what you want and not assume. Oh and I forgot. As I got there, I got a phone call call asking me if I could come in a half hour. I told them I was already there and so they said it would just be a few minutes. I ended up waiting a half an hour anyway. read more

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! I purchased two products for a total of € 58.99. One of the two products was a shampoo, worth around €20.00, which arrived with a completely broken dispenser and a lot of product leak. The main problem was that the product clearly needed to be wrapped on pluriball in order to face a shipment. I, therefore, contacted the customer service asking to return the product, but they replied by issuing me a proposal for a € 4 voucher on my next purchase, as if they knew that they could have never re-sold that product and did not even intend to send me another shampoo without making money on it. Needless to say, the voucher was a useless proposal, as I will never buy from their site again. I recommend buying from other platforms to have a much more serious experience. read more

I came here in a pinch to get my nails done. At first they didn't have time to accommodate me but Patricia some how found time to fit me in. Patricia is very talented at what she does and you can tell she has the kindest heart! She even educated me on what types of gel I should be using on my nails compared to what I had on previously. Quite possibly the worst haircut I've ever had and the most expensive to boot! First off, I made an appt with the specific stylist I wanted after taking the time to research based on yelp reviews. When I got there, they tell me that the stylist is running late because the previous customer arrived late for her appt. That was the first red flag! Basically my time and money was not as valuable as the previous customer. I should have walked away right then and there but you make the appt, you take time off from work, it's been 2 months since you've had a haircut, we've all been there before, might as well get it over with. The stylist I ended up with didn't smile at me even once, in fact I don't remember anyone in the salon having a really cheery disposition at all. Perhaps they prefer female clientele over men or perhaps they were all angry because it was the day after Valentines Day and maybe they all got dumped by their boyfriends the night before. I don't know but the unwelcoming vibe was pretty palpable from the moment I walked in and lasted until I left. The haircut itself was terrible and if I hadn't been paying attention and on top of my stylist the whole time it would've been even worst. In the end I still ended up with uneven sides and really barely a haircut at all. I'm just gonna wait till it grows back to even it out because it probably wont even last a month anyway. Just wanted to post my experience and maybe save others from an equally bad experience, especially men. The search continues! I tried this place based on the Yelp reviews. I hate to write a negative review but this place left a bad taste in my mouth. I got highlights and low lights and the stylist was great - she knew what she was doing and the color was fine. However, the minute she finished the color application, the service rapidly declined. The shampoo assistant was terrible and there was no massage (or even hot water) to speak of. After shampoo, I went back to the chair where the color was done and was sitting waiting when my stylist started yelling my name from the opposite side of the salon - I kind of thought I was hearing things at first - then realize this was meant for me i.e.: she wanted me to come to another chair. It sounds small but I found it kind of rude - suddenly I felt like I was an inconvenience. Then I was told a trim - not even a cut - would be $60. Then I was informed just DRYING my hair - which is baby fine and would take literally 5 minutes - would cost another $30. I said forget it, she offered to dry the front to see the color (which was kind of impractical since we did the whole head) and I went on my way. I have never received color without having the stylist dry it to actually SEE the results. As I mentioned, the skills of the stylist were fine but the customer service was definitely sub par. I bet Miracles (around the corner) will blow dry your hair - especially when it's to 20 degree weather outside. Not to mention a 45 minute appointment cost me $110. Not ridiculously high but not budget either - which is what it felt like to me. I give it two stars instead of one because it was fast (color was done in 45 minutes) - but then again, without a blow-dry or decent shampoo, there really wasn't anything else to spend time on. Also, to her credit, the stylist told me about the extra changes before she dried by hair. Bottom line: try somewhere else. read more

When I left the salon, my hair had a horrible scent like a burned out sewer. I had to wash it 4 times to dilute the horrible scent. The cut Adriana gave me looks shapeless and choppy, like somebody chewed it off. I tried to be as polite as possible in pointing out that I didn't like how my hair was just hanging down like a curtain with the same length all around my head. Her response was to take out the scissors and do some willy-nilly chopping -- which resulted in it looking wildly uneven and chewed. I got out while I still had some hair left. I had to go back to have them fix a highlight job that was so sloppy, there were roots showing immediately after it was finished! Still not fixed after they supposedly fixed it. FAIL!!! read more

This review is LONG due but in short I'll say... I LOVE THIS PLACE! First of all, the staff are very friendly! All these ladies look they have experience, and all are very welcoming and sweet. They were kind enough to squeeze me in on such a busy day before my trip. I called these other "top" hair salons in the area and all were unfriendly and stressful sounding over the phone, plus they were too busy, EXCEPT hair gallery. When I first came in, I noticed the quiet yet professional ambiance they have. They even offered me water since it was such a HOT day. My hair was washed and massaged by this very kind lady (can't remember her name, I will have to ask again when I go back, but she was lovely) and she really made me feel so comfortable. I mean, just the hair washing was that good!!! Then, I got my haircut by Marlene, who knew somehow exactly what I wanted and even did it better!!! I even posted a picture of my cut! In the end of the day, I noticed how soft and well-cut my hair was. It still is even after almost a month!! Such a gentle touch by these ladies. Like the previous (and only!) reviewer, I can only speak to the skill of Lulu. I've never had my haircut by anyone else there, and I've never had hair color or any nail services done there. But I can recommend Lulu for haircuts with 100% confidence. She's taken my hair through some somewhat drastic changes -- from a shoulder-length, all-one-length-'do to a very choppy, shorter and edgier look and the change was so seamless. I'm not timid when it comes to my hair, but any change can be a little nervewracking. She really takes the time to listen and advise me, and tell me the easiest way to style my new haircut. The rest of the staff is nice and welcoming. It's easy to get an appointment and I've never had to wait more than a couple minutes upon arrival. Turnaround time is quick, but I never feel rushed. I have no problem getting a haircut on my lunch hour. You get brief scalp massage prior to shampooing, which is a nice way to unwind midday! The salon is modern, clean, well-lit and reasonably priced, particularly for DC-area. One note for product junkies (which I'm not): I don't think they use super high-end products there, but no worries, it's not Suave or Herbal Essences. I bought some KMS products there that I love. read more

I came here to get a pedicure and a blowout Pedicure - I had Lea and she was very personable. I really enjoyed her conversation. She's pretty good at giving pedicures. I'm a little particular and I normally see the same lady but she was on vacation so I decided to give someone else a try. While I wouldn't replace my normal lady I would go to Lea again if my normal lady was out of town and I needed to get my toes done. Hair - Her name was Lulu I believe and I am also particular about my hair. Most people make it look frizzy which is unacceptable I think when I'm not a pro and I can get it straight. Lulu was on point and not only made my hair straight but it felt like silk. She took a little longer than normal but that was because she was meticulous and it was worth the wait. I also received a 5 min head and neck massage with my wash. I will definitely be coming back here for a blowout. read more

One of my best friends recommended me this place and Adriana as a hairstylist a while ago. Back in 2010 I had a long blond hair which in her opinion were damaged. As a result she insisted on cutting it really short. Fine. But I will never do it again. A few months later I asked Adriana to fix the color. As a result instead of dark ash blond I became gold blonde. Thank you but I didn't ask for that. So, of course, I changed a hairdresser. What happened at my friends wedding was the last straw. That's why I decided to leave this review. My friend, the one, who, by the way, had been one of her regular customers within all this long 4 years had a wedding last month. Congratulations, by the way! She asked Adriana to style her hair for a big day. They agreed on a day and time and what happened as a result ??? Yes, right, she didn't even show up! My friend was trying to reach her sending texts and calling "Hair Gallery" but never got a response from Adriana. I just got my fourth haircut from Fatima and I love her more everytime! I always ask for something different, showing her a picture of what I like and she always delivers. She will tell me though, if changes need to be made, like you should get shorter layers, longer bangs, etc. This last haircut and style was the best yet! She uses no product but manages to make my curly hair smooth and shiny with her magical blowdrying skills, and the style lasts for several days. The salon is bright and clean and everyone is friendly. They provide change for the parking meters if you need it. Make sure you bring cash for the tip as you can't add it to your total if paying by card (my only complaint). Overall, I like this salon a lot, Fatima is a great stylist and the prices are reasonable. read more

I went to Hair Gallery today for the first time with a friend for a mani during lunch. For $20, I'll definitely go back when my nails need a quick pick-me-up. Hair Gallery is small, but very clean. Only one nail tech, but she was very pleasant and did a good job. My nails needed to soak to remove some leftover gel polish and that was an extra $10 which I think is a bit steep. Since I don't get gel very often, I won't have to worry about that extra charge a lot. The salon offers OPI and Essie polishes, but doesn't have the best selection. Lots of reds and darker colors I wouldn't normally wear. There was a pretty good selection of lighter pinks and nudes and that suited me. Would like to see more purples and fall colors other than red. Tips are cash only. Leave about 30-40 minutes from start to finish. Very good first experience! read more

Adriana is a master of her trade - After dying my hair a dark, chocolate brown for a few years, I decided to go back to my natural blonde color. Unbeknownst to me when I first decided to dye my hair, going dark to light is no easy feat. Nevertheless, over the course of three hours and a follow-up highlighting appt, Adriana managed to coax my hair into a color that is both flattering and close to my natural roots. As an added bonus, she gave me a gorgeous cut that is just as flattering when I let my natural waves flow (read- when I'm being lazy) as it is when I spend time styling my locks. Okay, I am a Miracles girl. I have been there a couple of times and just couldn't get over the price so I kept going back. This week I HAD to get my hair highlighted and cut. My stylist at Miracles was booked so I had to look elsewhere. I'm glad I did. I headed down the street to Hair Gallery. Right before my cut I was nervous. I have had some BAD highlights before and I really started stressing. As soon as I walked in, Adriana put me at ease. She was very friendly and chatted with me a bit about what I wanted. She got the color ready and went right to work. They have these steam dryer things. Well, I loved it. They don't fry your head like normal dryers do. And then it was time for the shampoo. Oh. My. This woman knows how to wash hair. Sure, I have had the massages before when they wash your hair but this was phenominal. Wow. Then I got to see my color. I LOVED it. I'm not picky about my cut, just as long as its not too much and she just made me look and feel great. I will definitely go back. It was not busy but I did have an appointment. The only con I would say was that I wasn't used to pricing like that. Miracles is just so cheap, to go back to that kind of pricing may take me a bit. The staff was so friendly and my appointment was on time !!(yes I've been in DC for five years and some of the best salons always make me wait for atleast half an hour). Ive had long layers for a while and I found a picture of Nicole Ritchie with thick long layered bangs. Going to a new salon and asking for a completely different look I was very nervous. Fatima gave me the perfect color (pretty close to my natural hair color) and the cut was just amazing! I didnt even have to ask her once to adjust it, trim it - The moment she started cutting and while my hair was still wet, I could tell this was a very good haircut! Based on reviews from this site, I went to Hair Gallery and made an apt to get a cut by Lulu earlier this year. I wanted to find a salon in Arlington, which is harder to find a good one then you would think. I got the best scalp message with the wash and a great hair cut too. Lulu is very talented and gave me a great short bob... and you can't beat their price! I have been back again and got another great cut. I haven't tried color but probably will this summer... and will update then. But I have a feeling I have found my new hair stylist in Lulu... she is great!! Highly recommend her! read more

I had my first ever appointment at Hair Gallery this past Saturday with Adrianna. I've tried a couple other hair salons around Arlington and have not returned, however I will be returning to Hair Gallery. The salon is really nice...clean, calming atmosphere and while they don't have a parking lot, street parking was not difficult to find (on a Saturday afternoon at least). My appointment started right on time with a nice head massage and thorough hair wash. Adrianna asked me what I was looking for in a cut and really examined my hair to decide how best to give me what I was looking for. I have thick, frizzy hair and she knew exactly how to deal with it. Conversation was easy and didn't interrupt the cut (I've had a couple different hair stylists stop cutting my hair to stand there and talk, making for a very long appointment!) I was in and out in 45 minutes which I love. I do not want to spend an hour and half at the hair salon! The wash and cut cost $60 (excluding tip...note: they only except cash tips) which seems like a fair price for this area. read more

Got a haircut with Adrianna today. It was $60, including shampoo and blow dry, before tip. (And don't forget, cash only on the tip, as others have mentioned!) Quick, no wait time, friendly staff. I was in on a Fri afternoon so it was pretty quiet. The scalp massage is minimal, maybe 2-3 minutes before they shampoo, but it's a nice little touch. I have thick, straight hair, and lots of it, and Adrianna was careful not to give me layers that would make my hair poof. I wasn't thrilled with how she cut my bangs (a little too short), but otherwise am satisfied. I was in and out and 45 minutes flat. I'm used to the stylist spending just a little more time on the cut, but overall can't complain. I may try to get Lulu next time, since everyone raves about her, or head over to Miracles, which is half the cost. read more

Being new in Arlington I have gone to a few places to get my haircut. Recently I came across Hair Gallery in Rosslyn. Being a young male in a professional work environment I have always gotten easy in and out, traditional style haircuts that did not cost a lot. The price at Hair Gallery was only a little more than I was used to (~$28) but the delivery was so much more than I could have asked for. My stylist Adriana took more care than any other hair stylist I have had in the past. She was methodical in her approach and took the time to make sure it looked perfect. My short hair can be cut in 15 minutes, but the hour of massaging, shampooing and cutting my hair went above and beyond expectations. Rather than going to easy way out and just using sheers, she texturized my entire haircut with razors. Finding a hair stylist that fits me is extremely difficult and after today, I have not only my new go to Hair Salon but my new go to stylist. The only reason why I am hesitant to write this review is that I am nervous everyone else will try to book with Adriana. All in all it was a great experience and I will surely be back soon. read more

I would call this closer to a 2.5 star rating. Tried this place out today after reading the reviews suggesting it was a good place for people with long hair. I have nothing but great things to say about the color (Adriana definitely understands subtle, natural looking color) and about the salon experience overall. What I am really disappointed in was, after making it clear in a number of ways that I did NOT want any layers above my chin, that I need to be able to pull my hair back for yoga, that I wasn't looking for more than two inches off the length, that I DO NOT want any layers above my chin....yes that's right...the shortest pieces of my hair are now above my chin. On the one hand, hair grows, no big deal, on the other hand this isn't Hair Cuttery and there was nothing complicated about the request. To give credit where it is due, Adriana did her best to show me a way to style my hair so the too-short part would not be as noticeable, but respecting my initial request would have been greatly preferable. I *was* the last appointment of the day so it is possible she was in a rush. Typically I have found stylists who specialize in longer lengths are more conservative, and ask for more input before taking off significant length. read more

I have been going to Hair Gallery since 2011 and have been seeing Lulu. I also got a haircut from Adriana once and have had my eyebrows waxed there as well. All good experiences! Lulu is a great stylist. I have very long and thick straight hair and have always had a hard time getting the right layers to make it lighter. Lulu immediately understood my issue and gave me all around layers that I love. She checks her work and makes sure your length is even when she is finished. She always gives me a fabulous blowout and I walk out with light, bouncy waves. I definitely recommend her! Adriana did my hair when Lulu was on maternity leave and she was fabulous. I asked for sweeping bangs and they were perfect (i often worry they will be too short). Would also recommend her as well. The shampoo experience is especially great because they take their time and really work the shampoo in. At the end of every shampoo, I've always received some sort of brief neck/shoulder massage. I have also had my brows waxed there and they were always very even. The room is clean and everything is fresh. Overall I recommend Hair Gallery. It took me a while to find the right salon but I was instantly pleased when I stepped in there. Parking is on the street but I have never had a problem getting a spot at a meter. I am usually in there for no more than an hour. Will definitely be sticking with them for years to come! read more

I needed a quick gel mani by the apartment and found this place on yelp. I was easily able to schedule an appointment that same day with Ruth, who is a jack of all trades for the salon. She does manicures, waxing, and massages, as I learned. She was very sweet and very meticulous, which is appreciated for both a manicure and my eyebrows. I wish they had a slightly bigger gel color selection as I was trying to compliment my already painted toes, but all in all, I left a happy customer.
