I hate to leave this review as my initial contact with Salon Le Mae was such a positive one, but alas.... I was relatively new to the area and needed a new stylist, ASAP. After reviewing some options online and making a few phone calls, I quickly settled on Salon La Mae. The reason? I was so impressed with the brief yet thorough consultation I had with the lovely young woman who answered the phone. She asked what I was looking to achieve and quickly recommended the salon owner for my first visit. She even went so far as to give me the owner's private number so I could forward her pics of what my current style looked like and what style I was aiming for. I was told this would better prepare for my initial visit. Nice, right? And I must say, my initial visit was quite good. It was right after COVID re-opening, so many safety protocols were in place. I especially liked how they provided me with a disposable mask so that bleach wouldn't ruin mine. Jamie was very thorough with my consultation and processed my color beautifully. She struggled a bit with my balayage, and I left with more of a highlighted look rather than an ombre appearance, but it was still quite nice. She also struggled some with the flat iron beach wave I requested as far as styling. But not a big deal whatsoever. My biggest complaint was the noise. It's a chatty place and very loud. I like to relax during my salon visits and it's next to impossible to do at this location. The conversation and language could use a slight 'cleaning up' as well. So, onto the following visits. This is where the pleasant waters started to murky some. I called to schedule a root touch-up and was promptly provided an appointment on a Saturday, which I requested due to my work schedule. The night prior to my appointment, I received a text from Jamie stating that she double booked the following day and needed to reschedule my appointment. The soonest she had open was an evening, the following Tuesday at 6:00. Although it was just a few days away and I try to remain flexible, this was frustrating. After a 9-hour workday, I would have to get approval to leave work 15 minutes early and sit at the salon after being away from home all day. So overall, my second appointment was surrounded in unfortunate circumstances and felt rushed once started. Now to my third and final 'attempt' at making an appointment. I called the salon several times one evening to schedule and could not get through. The only option I had was to leave a voicemail for my stylist who would call me back to schedule an appointment. That call never came. I gave it a few days and decided that I should probably admit defeat and move on to another salon. I did and I'm content. Salon La Mae is a laid-back place and just fine for a quick hairstyle needed by a client with a fairly open schedule. Just not for me. read more

Can't say good enough things about this salon. Everyone that works there is a sweetheart. Beth cut my hair and blew me away. I had a grown out bad haircut and she blended it in and somehow magically made my hair look longer. She always listens intently to what I want and doesn't just do whatever she wants like a lot of stylists do. If you have long hair and get nervous about too much being cut off, Beth's your girl. She stopped and asked several times throughout the cut about my opinion on what she was thinking to do next. Couldn't be happier with the outcome. Thanks, Beth! read more

I am new to the area from out of state and I was overdue, very much overdue a complete overhaul, haircut, style, color/highlights! Well I did use google and many salons came up, but something other than the consistent high reviews led me to chose this salon. I would call it instinct:) Well I can say it's the happiest and most transformative haircut and experience I've had at any salon and I've been to a lot, all over the US and Europe. Beth was the transformer! She is a master stylist! She even went out of her way to ask for photos of what I was working with and looking for well in advance so I felt like we had a plan before I even got there, which made me feel very confident and relaxed. She took her time, nothing was rushed and she made sure I left not just happy but I am over the moon with my new style. She took years off me with a shaggy lob and highlights! I am a fan and client for life! Thank you so much Beth! All the staff Reiley and Jamie were super friendly and welcoming. I felt like I had a day out with the girls. Great experience. I was visiting from out of town and Jaymie and her daughter were kind enough to fit me into the schedule last minute due to another cancelation. I had one of the best hair styling experiences ever! I love spending time with all the wonderful ladies at Salon La Mae. It is like one happy family. I not only get a great haircut, but great ideas and information as the conversation flows so easily! Brenda ALWAYS listens to what I want, confers with others to make sure I get exactly what I want and never pushes me to do something I don't want (I've had this happen in the past and I appreciate her listening to exactly what I want). Brenda is always concerned that I am happy with my color and cut and will take the extrra time to explain how to style, show me tricks or just talk with me. I just left the salon and I am one happy girl. I went in with scraggly ends, flat roots, an old red tinted brown I was trying to grow out and the desire for a beautiful balayage. My natural hair color was matched and my roots were fixed, my hand painted and blended balayage were perfectly executed and I was involved in every step ensuring I got my ideal result. This is the best place to go if you want your skin to look amazing. The herbal esthetician is a miracle worker. She uses all natural products that she creates herself. After a couple microdermabrasion treatments and a few weeks of using her products my skin looked amazing. I hadn't had a breakout for a couple months until I actually ran out of the face wash she gave me. Like literally a direct correlation. My favorite part about my appointments isn't even the facial but how relaxing it is. She plays soft music and uses aromatherapy. When it comes to getting my hair done, I'm a walking ball of anxiety. I hate going to salons because I've always had bad experiences, and the stylist never really listens to me. However, Brenda at Salon La Mae took such amazing care of me. She let me explain my background, what I was looking for, analyzed my reference photos, and talked me through exactly what she was going to do before she did it. I have very long and thick hair, and was coming in for layers and curtain bangs. Brenda stood behind my chair for an hour and half and would not budge until I was sure it was exactly what I wanted. Brenda cut, shampooed, blew-out, curled, and styled my hair for SUCH an affordable price, and now I realize how much I've been getting overcharged my whole life by other salons when the experience was so much worse.
