I've lived in Orlando for 1.5 years and haven't really tried to find a salon for color/highlights but I WILL be back to see her in the future. When I first walked in, my first impression of the salon was how clean it was and Donny's station was so organized and neat (an ocd dream!). Something I admired a lot. I really liked that he explained everything he was going to do to my hair in details, such as texture, cut, style, and what products/recommendations would make my hair look and feel good. Like she had to rewet my hair with a spray bottle to blow dry it because the blow dry took so long because she wanted it pin straight and flat even though I told her before she started cutting that I don't like my naturally curly hair blown pin straight or hanging down in my face. I asked to keep my length, layers in the back that started at the crown of my head and kept graduating down (lots of layers) and heavy curtain bangs with face framing layers in the front. Courtney took off four inches after we discussed how she didn't see any damage in my ends, one barely there layer in the back, no face framing, and less than a quarter inch of bangs on either side that are crooked. The left side skims my cheekbone. The right side "bang" goes under my chin. Should I have complained right then and there? Probably but then Courtney would have wanted another 2 hours and a chance to fix it and I wasn't letting her near my head again. So I paid (and like a well trained sucker tripped 30%) and went home to find another salon to fix the disaster tomorrow. I wish her well, maybe she can get better with experience and a good mentor that explains that it's about the haircut the client wants and not the haircut she wants to do but as it stands I'd feel guilty sending my worst childhood bully to this salon for a haircut with Courtney and that's saying something because I'm kinda low key petty Adding -- after leaving a review on google the salon responded (you can see in their google reviews) that basically it's not their fault, it's a me problem that they gave me a crooked haircut and they "wished me well". Not even an attempt to apologize, refund my money or make it right in any way. Apparently accountability is another service that Vie doesn't offer at her salon, along with professionalism, integrity and the ability to cut a straight set of bangs.

To start things off, I'll say the place is very nice and reminds me of a coffee shop. People are very nice and will even give you complimentary refreshments. Parking can be a little difficult since it's in Ivanhoe area. For my haircut, all I needed was a trim. The agreement was just maintaining most of the length and let the hair have some flow and texture towards the top. The guy even ran his hands through my hair to follow the direction it grows in. Next thing I know, he's combining my hair in the opposite direction and cutting. At first I thought it was some technique I'd never seen before. But turns out he fully intended for my hair to go in that direction. At the end, I asked why he cut my hair that way if originally he was even moving my hair in the proper direction. His response was that my hair wants to grow in the direction he cut. I chose not to argue since it had already been done and at that point I didn't trust him to fix it anyways. However, I do know he's wrong. My hair naturally falls in the direction seen in my picture as it dries. Now it has a weird shape on the sides with no life at the top. I'm sure these people are well trained, however I had a bad experience and will not be returning.

It's such a good feeling to completely trust the person doing your hair, and with Eric, I know I'm in the best hands every time. He is incredibly talented and genuinely has a gift!
