Okay, not to be dramatic but this place changed my life. I stumbled into the salon randomly on NYE like 8 years ago to get my hair done and left with the hair I've always wanted. Soo many salons had told me it was too drastic of a color change and could ruin my hair but Crystal just said "if you have a few hours I can absolutely do this for you". Fast forward a few hours and my hair looked STUNNING! Needless to say, I've been a client ever since! Strangers actually stop me in the street to tell me how much they like my hair. People think it's natural, which is amazing because red hair doesn't always look natural! For a while, I'd schedule appointments with anyone who was available because every person there is wonderful! But one day I scheduled with Patty and we just clicked. She makes me feel so comfortable and does such a good job! She listens to what I'm looking for and also offers her opinion (which is super helpful because I'm incredibly indecisive) Also, I know it's not her job to listen to the ups and downs of my life, but she always does with a smile. I appreciate her enthusiasm so much that I hired her to do my hair and makeup for my bridal shower AND my wedding. She's the energy you need around you on important days, trust me. Came here after searching for a hair salon on yelp and super glad I did! They are currently under construction so I was a bit uncertain at first but the reviews were promising. The mi Ute Gina Marie was consulting me on my color and cut (both of which I was unsure) I felt better! I could tell she had expertise experience & helped me with my concerns. Super relaxing experience. The salon's decor is tastefully done, and the receptionist and shampoo person I had were so friendly! I get my hair cut and colored by Alan and he's amazing. He listens to what you want, and it comes out perfect. Even the young lady who shampooed my hair did such a great job- firm and massaging without being too firm or scratching. I moved to the Bellmore area about three years ago ago and was worried I could never find someone to be able to do my curly hair again. Patty came highly recommended and I gave her a try. I've been giving her more than a try for these three years. I gave her my trust, which is hard to come by for me. Patty has not only taken me on various color journeys with her amazing colorist work (blonde and red - and I'm a natural brunette), but she gives amazing hair cuts and can actually blow out my curly hair! She knows when to put the scissor down (even when I say take more off) and she knows when not to give you a full head of blonde highlights (because she' was concerned about the integrity of my hair). Amazing salon, Brilliant owner, skilled stylists and everyone is so sweet and talented

Attention Curly girls....see Crystal for your curly cuts and trims...I went elsewhere for a 'curl by curl dry cut' and it was a huge error on my part. I waited two weeks to see if I could live that cut, but it was so off and just felt and looked awful....you know what I mean I'm sure!! Crystal had previously cut my hair but I had to get this 'dry cut' thing out of my system and I so regret it. I called and made an appointment with Crystal. She took one look at the cut and knew what happened. She told me that she'll have to trim off quite a bit to get my hair back on track. As I sit here typing this review, I'm already much happier with my hair. Yes it's shorter than I wanted but that's ok, my hair will grow and the curls are already loving this cut much better. I love my hair. Gina K, is my colorist, and Sara is my hairdresser. They have both done my hair on a few occasions since starting with salon nouveau. The are very professional and it is a comfortable atmosphere. Now some observations about the two hairdressers. Sara is very talented her scissor skills are fabulous, she takes time to listen to what you want. She is very friendly. You can tell she really loves what she does. Gina K. Knows her art. The hair wash was rushed. The hair stylist left me with an uneven cut and wasnt communicating during the cut to make sure it was what I wanted. She also didn't put the cape on me properly and I left covered in hair. Will never go back read more

One star because the girl who did my hair was nice. I paid $300 for a Brazilian blowout and I am left with a film in my hair, grease, knots, and the same friz I had before. I have been trying to get in touch with the owner for two months to fix his situation and have spoken to three different receptionist. It takes days to even get a call back. I went back in once to have my hair washed out and both the stylist and hair washer agreed they felt it and it needed a clarifying wash. A week later the film was back. I have done Brazilian blowout before and was so happy which is why I did it again. I've heard every excuse possible from the salon why there is a problem but still no solution and no call back from the owner. Terrible way to run a business. read more

Only get my hair done from Sara, she's absolutely amazing and such a sweetheart. I got my hair done from Taylor this time and I got a blowout with curls. When Sara did it, my hair lasted 2 days with the curls. This time with Taylor within 2 HOURS half my head is flat and straight and the other side is curled. I look absolutely ridiculous and so frustrated as I have a flight tonight and don't have time to fix this horrible look. She said she made the curls "tighter so they'd last" clearly they didn't. I first came to Patty in November 2022. I asked for maintenance of extensions. She was absolutely wonderful. She blended my extensions beautifully, colored my roots and cut my hair. I came into the salon for the first time to get my hair cut and most defiantly will not be coming back. From the moment I walked into the salon, I would tell that It was far from a welcoming environment. From the moment I sat in Patty's chair, there were no conversations made, and it took her 5 mins to cut my hair. After she cut my hair, she blew it out to look like a mushroom and added no products like a heat protectant or even a leave-in conditioner. After looking like a mushroom with a burnt scalp, she finally decided to add anti-humifying spray. Upon arriving home, I found out that my hair was uneven. I was very excited that I found a place to get my hair blown out for a reasonable price. The salon matched the Groupon price. I had Diana for a blow out - it lasted a whole week. We needed to work out the kinks with my hair. I tried to show my hair to her in pictures and we were just working on the bangs. I came back for a second time, but I tried to explain don't use the flat iron because I had to put my bangs back. Diana tried her best but flat ironed my entire head. Not exactly what I wanted but, I thought next time I came I would explain again. I got to the front desk to pay and the receptionist said as an FYI if you get flat iron it is 10 dollars more. I stated, even if it is just the bottom - she said yes. I did not leave happy, or as if my business was appreciated at all. There are about 25 places in Merrick and Bellmore to visit and spend my money. I can assure you I will never return. Not because of Diana, but for the rudeness of the comment at the desk. read more

Good times. I called and they fit me in for an 11am appointment on St. Patrick's day. Luck of the Irish! Eleanor washed my hair (I walked in with rat dog hair... ) Cara was my stylist. Cara was chill and styling in her Nike pumps, fresh to death. I asked for the Merrick-Bellmore girl cut. (Long layer, angled face). She cut, she styled, and it was on point. We BS'ed while she blew dried and chatted. I'd highly recommend her, super down to earth. The salon has an automated system that texts you a reminder of your appointment and you can get your receipt in your email. I dig it. The lady at reception was very nice. I filled out a form for their new database and she gave me some shampoo sample. Shampoo, cut and blow for my long thick hair was 55 bucks. I'm loving it! All I have to say is wow... Adrianna is absolutely incredible. I came in with bleach blonde hair with outgrown roots. She did an amazing brunette balayage, just what I wanted. After it was finished, I felt as if the brunette wasn't as dark as I wanted. She redid the entire top for no additional charge, and she even restyled it like how it was before. She was so patient and kind, I can't thank her enough. If you need any type of color done, GO TO ADRIANNA. I've never experienced such courtesy and respect at any salon. For my daughter's baptism, I had Crystal come to my home so she could do my hair and my 3 year old daughter's hair. Crystal arrived on time and was very professional as well as wore a mask while she gave me an amazing volumizing blowout with bouncy curls. My hair is very straight and flat, it's always a huge challenge to leave my hair down.
