Paul and Connie are fantastically talented hair stylists, simple as that. About a year ago I was looking for a new salon. I was looking for a place that didn't give off that faux-hollywood hype so many salons try to convey, but at the same time the skill and service level had to be super high caliber. I've now been back 4x and going back soon... I always get compliments on my hair, the color, the cut - all thanks to both Paul and Connie. They both have crazy good skills and they really listen. The salon itself is so original and authentic. I love the black paint, chandeliers, strings of light and canvases placed in the ceiling rafters (genius idea for when you're getting your hair washed). It's so not what you expect from a salon but after being there 10 minutes it feels so comfortable. read more

I had my first appointment at Salon Paul Florent last week, and am so pleased with the whole experience! I just moved to the area and have been looking for a salon close to home, as I'm someone with a schedule that makes it tough to keep up with my hair appointments. The later hours (8pm I believe) are so convenient and my cut is beautiful! I was greeted by 2 sweet puppies when I entered the salon, I'm such a dog-lover that they had me at hello. ;) My appointment ran a little behind schedule so I had to wait awhile, which was no big deal once I got into the styling chair with a glass of wine and the talented hands of Paul and his scissors. Ummm...BEST SALON EVER. My hair is naturally very dark brown, but I like to go super blonde. It's difficult to find a salon that can do this at an affordable price and not have your hair fall out! I've gone to Salon PF twice now and could not be more thrilled with the service, smiles, techniques......not to mention, wine tasting and petting of super cute dogs! Yep, Noelle and George hang out there and are so sweet, especially a great distraction while waiting for your color to set. I was forced to find a new hairdresser after almost 10 years of loyalty to someone who decided to leave the business. Yes, perhaps it's "just hair", but it's actually difficult to seek out and trust someone new to do a good job and really listen to what you want because we all know that a bad cut & color can make a woman not-so-happy. Paul and Connie completely listened. They listened and were super cool and results were so great, that I came back for my 2nd appointment recently and plan on continuing on beyond that. Also during my first appointment, I had mentioned in conversation that I was going to a birthday party and Paul took it upon himself to offer to style my hair a little extra so I can look extra nice for the outing. So glad I found this place via Yelp. I was looking for a hair salon that only uses cruelty-free products and since this is a Paul Mitchell salon it fit the bill! Very small salon which is nice because you're not trying to have a conversation with your stylist over someone else's conversation with their stylist. You will likely have to make your appointment well in advance but you'll be treated so well when you get there. They will offer you a choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and you can even bring your pet! Paul, Connie, and Eddie are all very friendly and I will definitely be back! read more

I have been going to Salon PF for years now. The rock. Innovative, fun, great prices for the attention and quality you get! They could totally charge Bev, Hills prices, but don't! Like the other reviews say, Noelle, the golden retriever greets you with her pink tail, a beverage or cocktail of choice is poured, then Paul & Connie do their magic! My friend has been a client of Paul's and Connie's for decades. He finally convinced me to give them a try. I now believe in magic! Connie is a color wizard and turned something dull and grey into shiny natural looking tresses while Paul transfigured my limp fly away hair into something manageable and dare I say it...beautiful! Thankfully I found this great salon. I had just moved to the area and already had a costly bad experience with another salon nearby. (See my other review) I found Paul while looking through Yelp reviews. Right from the first phone call, I knew things were looking up. I've only been there twice but both times i had great experiences. They are all laid back, friendly, helpful. Pauls lovely daughter is the receptionist and is happy to offer you coffee, water. She even went down and fed the parking meter for me while i had 100 foils in my head. Paul works quickly but does a nice job. He listens to what you want and did not try to talk me into 2 and 3 step costly methods. His approach to my hair was "less is better" and my previously overprocessed hair is well on its way to recovery. Last time Connie finished me off with a nice toner and treatment. I love quirky businesses like this, so when I found them on Yelp I got very excited - plus the reviews were awesome and they seemed to be well established, so I made an appointment for color. I'm going on vacation soon so I wanted to get something fun and fresh for that. When I got there, Paul greeted me and introduced me to Connie who was going to be doing my hair. The puppies were there which was a real treat, as I consider my heart to be in the shape of a puppy and can't have dogs in my current apartment. The place was small but as I said, quirky, with a lot of great chandeliers and photos and things to admire. I was offered a cocktail or beer and overall the place had a pretty good vibe. I've had my hair lightened before and I've had an ombré a few times in the past, but I've never seen anyone use the technique that Connie used. I was a bit concerned but put trust in her since everything else seemed great. It took about 2 hours for her to get my hair into foils. Mind you, I have shoulder length hair and I was getting it lightened, so in the 2 hours it took for her to finish with the foils the underside of my hair was sitting in that mixture for that entire time. I'm not sure why it took this long - again, not a technique I've ever seen. When the foils were removed my hair was a bright orange color. I wasn't very surprised because I do have brown hair but by this point I had been there over 3 hours and needed to leave so I was frustrated. She toned my hair and it looked a bit better. They're also working with some new hair dryers which apparently put out lava-temperature air, so my scalp got burned a couple of times. I will add that in the what ended up being 4 hours (4 hours, what!!?) I was at this place, only 2 other clients came in for a color touch up. That seemed odd to me since it was a Saturday afternoon and they told me that they usually get swamped on weekends. Now that I've had a few days to look at my hair and live with it, I'm extremely upset and frustrated that I spent time and money on this. My color is splotchy. It's uneven. The color runs in horizontal lines. The bottom layer is nearly white, whereas the top layers of my hair are still an orangey color, and rather than this looking like a blended gradient ombré, it looks like I'm growing out a bad box dye job. I can't even put my hair up in a ponytail, because the color on the underside of my hair seems to stop and start randomly and looks horrible. On top of this my hair is so fried from being in foils for so long that I am too scared to color correct it. The worst part? I'll be on a great vacation with endless photo ops and bad hair. I am one of those people that get my hair cut only once a year, because of not liking the cuts I get. I have problems with hair dressers doing it right, and every place I've gone, they make me uncomfortable, so I am always reluctant to get a hair cut. I don't have any place that I've ever gone twice, but I think I finally found one I really like. Paul was very nice, and was willing to brainstorm with me because I had no clue what cut to get. We ended up deciding on a really nice style that suited me perfectly, in personality and face structure. And it gave me the things I wanted. He really has skill in making his customers happy and feel good about their cuts. The rest of the staff was very welcoming, my favorite being their cute dog. If it's your first time, definitely mention it, you get a great discount. I'll definitely be returning for my next cut, and perhaps convincing some friends and family to go there, too. read more

I have gone from short, to long, to short again, and all the styles fit my hair every time. After going to the same hairstylist for about 10 years I was really scared when I had to find someone new. I was referred to Salon PF by a trusted friend and then also read all the reviews on here. I dipped my toes in about 5 weeks ago to cover up my gray and was pleased but then today I went for a cut by Paul and color by Connie and was absolutely amazed by their combined effort on my hair. I love them! They are warm, friendly and they listened to what I wanted. As a bonus you get to love on Noelle and George. They are the sweetest dogs. Today I met Maddie, the new assistant and she's lovely and really great too. And aside from all of this wonderfulness, the prices are good and it's so worth every penny.
