I love Salon Rhonda! Rhonda is an awesome, hilarious, and very hardworking woman. Every time I get my hair done, someone is always walking in to say hi to her. The salon is decorated really chic and cute, it's always clean, and smells nice. It's easily accessible off of Erie Avenue with plenty of walkable establishments around. The other stylists are really personable as well, even if you're not their client - something I haven't experienced at other salons. Chelsea does my hair and always is very attentive, honest, and gives great advice on my hair. My hair has gone from lifeless to fuller, hydrated - everything that makes me feel so much more confident in myself. I always recommend Salon Rhonda! read more

Holy Eyebrow Goddess!!!! Ciara is AMAZING as an eyebrow artist!!! Just went to Ciara, for the first time a month ago, for my brows. She did an amazing job! She had my brows look 100% better/healthier I'm constantly getting compliments!! She was great about sketching out what it was she planned to do (measuring it all out), talking me through it, THEN finally proceeding with the waxing process.a Afterwards she filled in with airbrush makeup to cover up all the bumps and pinkness, and my favorite showed me how to fill in my new brows and shape them up to perfection (seeing as I have them to where they need to grow in) Couldn't be more pleased. Will definitely be back! DEFINITELY recommend her, and WELL worth the 20 minute drive to get to her and her magical skills!!! I followed Chelsea over to Salon Rhonda from Hyde Park Hair and Body Works after it closed down and had my first appointment last night. The salon is located right next door to Cock & Bull on Hyde Park Square and is a very pretty & inviting space. All of the woman, both working and getting services done were very friendly and I had a good time chatting and sipping a glass of wine while getting my haircut. Chelsea always does a great job and my head always feels about 10lbs lighter when I leave her chair. I definitely recommend! Ciara did my makeup for my wedding as well as all my bridesmaids. She made everyone feel comfortable and look even more beautiful than they usually are. The makeup even looked amazing even after all the dancing! People were complimenting me and the bridesmaids all night about our makeup. Yes, she is that good! Ciara has also done my eyebrows since my wedding. The first time she talked to me about the angles of my face and explained she uses those angles to decide the best brow shape for my face. I live in Columbus, and a stylist here really messed up my hair trying to do a Bolayage. I know Roxy, who does my brows when I'm in Cincy, and she recommended Cassie to do my hair. Cassie did my hair about a month ago and the color is still so rich and I'm in love with it. So pleased with the results! She was easy to talk to, and she was really able to get an understanding of what I wanted. Definitely worth the drive from Columbus every 6-8 weeks!! Roxy has been doing my eye brows for a while now. They were busy but everyone was having a good time and talking. It's right in Hyde Park square, so give yourself a few extra minutes for parking. This place is an excellent place for a haircut, waxing, and other sorts of grooming and pampering. Not only is it an excellent salon, but also a boutique for men's designer clothing and underwear, with a great selection for each. You can find some of the collections online and can make appointments online as well. Rhonda is a sweetheart whose passion for fashion is clear as she also does a lot of work outside of the salon to help out in the industry. I have gone to Ciara several times over the past couple years and have been pretty pleased with her work, however my run in with her today was one of the worst I have had with any business. I booked an express wax a week in advance because I am going out of town this week. My appointment was at 2:15 PM, and since I live 20 min away I got to the Rookwood area early. I stopped in Whole Foods, and due to an emergency in the parking lot, got stuck behind an ambulance for a few min. I walked into my appointment at 218 PM, and Ciara (who I had seen probably over 10 times) looked so confused to see me. She said 'are you here for me??'. She then told me that I was too late for my appt and she couldn't see me. I completely understand wanting people to arrive in a timely manner which I have done so on every other occasion, but to send me away after I have told her previously I do not live close was outrageous. There was no apology, or any offer to Have me reschedule, she literally made me feel like a criminal for being 3 min late. I left so frustrated I was in tears. I will not be back, her work is average but she is clearly lacking in professionalism and customer appreciation. Not to mention I always tip her very well!! Just left Salon Rhonda for the first time! Truly only tried it because of a great GROUPON offer for color and cut. MANDY IS A WIZARD with the scissors and razor...texturized my very thick head of hair into a very cute cut. SO pleased with the coverage and richness of her coloring product, as well. I have never left a salon and made an appointment for my next cut...but I did today. Very friendly atmosphere to salon. read more

RUDE is only one word to describe this place. I made an appt online with Ciara. I showed up and there were 3 people there, a hairstylist, manicurist and Ciara (and their clients). They looked at me like I had 3 heads, the hairstylist just said "Ciara"? As to ask if that is who I was there for and I said "yes", and she just pointed with her comb. Ciara looked at me and said, who are you? I told her, she looked on her phone and said I don't have you scheduled, she looked again and said, nope, youre not on here and I am booked today. I hesitated thinking she would say "I'm sorry would you like to reschedule"? (like anyone in the service industry would) but no, that was all she said and went back to doing someones brows. I turned and walked out. I have never been treated so shitty by someone in the customer service buisness. They all made me feel like I was stupid for coming there. Oh boy was this a ride!!!! I have so many things to say about this salon. For a treat for Mother's day my sweet mother purchased a mani and pedi for me from the nail tech Jess. Jess is a nice girl but very inexperienced, especially for what my mother paid. My mother wanted to make sure I got exactly what I wanted, last year the same purchase was made but a complete fail with a different salon, and this proved to be a simpler experience. Jess managed to get my mother to over pay for gel acrylics, which they don't even do, but told her they did. My sweet mother doesn't know the correct terminology for these things but they told her to pay a little more and that they would do it..... first mistake. When I called to make the appointment, the owner was extremely rude answering the phone. I spoke to Jess after being handed off to her and wanted to confirm that they did what she had written on the gift certificate as doing. When she finally admitted to not doing gel acrylics and only doing the shellac, a BIG difference, I threatened to contact my mother to let her know. Jess offered to do what she had stated she would do in the beginning which I thought was going to be gel acrylics with a design and matching pedi. Unfortunately that wasn't the case. I honestly don't think she even knew what she was talking about, which is a shame since she overcharged my mother for something they don't even do. So I didn't get the gel acrylics I thought I was getting, instead I was told that it was tacky to do that and too smelly to do in such a tiny shop. And this shop is very very tiny. It was so uncomfortable and small, the door was open which let flies and bugs crawling everywhere. My nails where simply painted and not well, with a poor design. My husband could of done better. THe first thing that I was asked was am I a smoker...... which I was very offended by. I felt like from that point on the entire appointment became less a priority and more about my nails turning yellow. Her conversation was inappropriate in front of other customers and made me extremely uncomfortable. I was told the nail polish would last.... it chipped a day later and never turned yellow., half the design washed off. I sat for two and half hours in a closet basically listening to numerous phone calls from the girls and watching them text. I observed customer after customer walk in to either be rejected by the eyebrow specialist or blown off by the owner who was late. Overall experience was disappointing and upsetting to see my mother spend that kinds of money on something that they don't even do. I was quickly judged for wanting gel acrylics and found their rolling bucket pedi to be extremely unprofessional. I use to pay less to set in a massage chair, a real pedi and mani with gel acrylics designed well, and treated like I matter. The nail tech needs more experience if they are going to charge people that kinds of money to simply paint nails. read more
