I frequently schedule a blowout on weekends I have events or weddings. I love it because it's a low cost way to reduce stress and save time the day of. In addition this usually lasts 1-2 days with my hair so the next day I still have a cute hairstyle. I have seen multiple of the stylist and have had a positive experience with each one. They talk through what you are looking for and ask questions to confirm you are both on the same page. The salon is very clean and I'm happy with the brand of products they use. I had a photo shoot scheduled and I really wanted to look and feel my best. I needed to come outfit and makeup/ hair ready ,& let me tell you,I am not good with my hair whatsoever. I booked about a week ahead of time earlier in the morning so I could be sure we had enough time for the style I wanted. I was matched with Ellie and she was AMAZING. she understood what I was going for , she understood my hair type, she was sweet and very accommodating. I have such thin hair and she knew how to give it the volume I needed for the photos. The studio is calm and relaxing and they provided a glass of wine which helped calmed my nerves before going into my photo shoot that afternoon. I would highly recommend and will definitely be back. This is such an amazing salon. They can literally meet just about any hair needs, IMHO. I have very curly 3B/3C hair. I have had my hair done by just about every stylist who works here. Some are different levels than others but everyone is friendly and nice and really take the time to do your hair. They give great recommendations on styles and one styled for cuts. My hair had been growing like crazy lately and at my last appointment, Stephanie gave me an amazing cut! I love the layers she added(one of my friends said it looked like I had Disney Princess hair!) They also offer additional services to be a one-stop shop for a night out. They offer lash extensions, glossing treatments, and waxing. This makes it so easy if you need to get glam before a night out, but don't have a bunch of time after work to go to more than one place. I don't personally have kids yet, but I have been in Zephyr when kids have come in for haircuts. The stylists take such care even with the kids that have stress around getting a haircut. Zephyr is also a great location to have your bridal party get ready! You can bring in your own food music, you can have everyone get ready together, and like I said, they can handle everyone's hair types! The updo that I had done for an August wedding lasted all night even through outdoor pictures and dancing all night. Ellie, the owner, is amazing and so personable. This place seems to be hit or miss. I got my hair styled for a formal event and couldn't muster the courage to be honest about the style. It looked like a child did my hair and it was not even close to what I had shown for the look. I also got my lashes done which I have mixed feelings about. Altogether, the lashes stuck on very well but she did not separate my top lashes from my bottom, so my eye was literally glued shut on the corners. Also pieces of the lashes fell out before I even left the salon. Disappointing experience. You get what you pay for. I will say another stylist did a great job on the person next to me. But just save your money if you know how to do your hair at all. read more

For some this may seem long, but this is actually fairly quick considering how much hair I have. It is super cute inside and would be a great place to take your girlfriends. I live probably four blocks away from this salon and I've been counting down the days until it opened as I would go by on my weekly runs over the summer. Happily, this place was well worth the wait! Chic, modern design welcomes you when you enter. The girls are so nice and I swear have magic hands (try not to drool when they massage your scalp!) By far the one of the best blowouts I've had. In addition, when they asked me what I wanted to drink my choices weren't just 'white wine' or 'red wine' like in some salons, but they had a selection of different varietals! Heaven! The prices were very reasonable as well. Being so close to home, I have the feeling this is going to be a dangerous combination for me! I had such an enjoyable experience that I reserved the whole salon for my girlfriends and I for my upcoming birthday...which you can do for a reasonable salon rental fee. The best part? I've gotten numerous blowouts in Denver over the past couple years and decided to get one for a girls night out while visiting Cincinnati. Autumn did my hair and not only was it at least $15 less than what I pay in Denver, it was 15 times better. It still looks great the next day, and while she used plenty of product, it never felt sticky or stiff. I would highly recommend them to anyone for a fun night out or for something a bit more glamorous. If I'm ever back in town again I will stop back for sure! read more

I got an express blowout casual style ($25, I came in with clean and dry hair). I have long thick hair, so sometimes my arms need a rest from curling my own hair. Good experience with my stylist and I even informed her that the hair would need to last through the evening and she told me how to manage that. She is great at washing hair! Best shampoo I've ever had, and she did a scalp massage. It was exactly what I needed. I was exhausted going in, and just didn't have the energy to wash and style my own hair. So I'm glad this place exists! I had an appointment for a blowout this past Saturday before going out with friends for my birthday. I don't remember the name of the girl who did my blowout but she was nice. I don't normally do anything to my hair except put it in a ponytail, so anytime I have a chance to get a blowout I jump at the opportunity. They were running also running a $20 special that day. Overall, I was pleased with my hair. She used a lot of product on my hair and I am not used to that so when I touched my hair, it sounded "crunchy". Love Zephyr! I did the holiday deal of 5 blowouts for $100, which is killer. They treat you like a queen (or king... they do guys too :) ), offering beverages and attentive service. The salon itself is always clean and fresh, with a great boutique feel. I swear my next bathroom is going to be modeled after this place! If you get the service with shampoo/conditioner (HIGHLY recommend), you get to relax, put your feet up (yep, reclining chairs with footrests), and enjoy great products in addition to a wonderful scalp massage.. I swear I could fall asleep in that chair. They stylists are very knowledgeable. I have shorter hair (just above the shoulders) and they always manage to make me feel fabulous. They never overdo it on product or heat, my hair always feels healthy and vibrant after they finish. Martha is great! Overall, highly recommend. I booked an appointment 4 mos prior through the online system, receiving an email confirmation of my appointment. I was coming from out of state for an Oct wedding, and this seemed like a great salon. I arrived for my appointment on Saturday afternoon, about 15 minutes early. There was some parking down the street, and it seemed like a nice area. When I walked in, it was very cute, but there was no one to greet me. I waited about 5 minutes, and the receptionist came out of the back. I gave her my name and she started looking me up. After a few minutes, she told me that she couldn't find my appointment. I told her the name of the stylist I was scheduled with. She said that the stylist I had an appointment with had quit, and that the appointments scheduled with her must have gotten lost. I told her that I was going to a wedding, and was there any way they could squeeze me in. She said no. She said she would take my name and have the owner call me. No one has ever called. I was extremely upset. It took about 10 phone calls, but I fortunately found a great salon called Paragon, that got me in right before the wedding and did a great job. I know it is partially my fault for not calling to confirm my appt the week before, but the way they treated me was unacceptable. I do not recommend this place. read more

All of the stylists I've had were great, and Zephyr is also super affordable (For reference, I live in LA and the blowout salons here seem to be way more pricey). I was in a pinch and needed a blowout but my stylist was booked so I took a chance on Zephyr. For starters when I walked in, nobody greeted me. When I was finally brought back for the blowout the stylist didn't ask at all what I wanted, just started going. I let her know that I wanted some wave or curl but when she was finished and turned me around, my hair was pin straight with volume up top. When I reminded her I wanted some wave she seemed annoyed and then curled my hair. The entire experience was just awkward in general. She wouldn't make conversation and looked at me like an alien when I tried to make any kind of small talk. I overheard other stylists working with clients who sounded very sweet and personable. Maybe I just got a bad stylist. I love blowouts but after my experience I will not be returning.. I just didn't feel welcome. read more

I have had a different stylist each time and all have been so friendly, easy to talk to, welcoming and great stylists! I usually like to get some type of wave or curl when I go and each time does not disappoint. I have baby fine hair that is thin and stick-straight (a.k.a. a nightmare to style for more formal occasions). I was happy at Zephyr from start to finish- the salon is clean, bright, and tastefully decorated. Service was good- I was consistently checked on during my appointment to see if I wanted a beverage or anything else.
