Cassie Beers beauty is back at Coco and so am I. She has being doing my hair for quite some time and is very talented. She is a Wella color expert and keeps up to date with her training. If you have a specific color in mind, bring her a pic. She was able to replicate mine almost exactly! Very impressive! If you have a particular hair style/cut in mind she is also great at creating that for you. If you need a recommendation, she has those as well. I am very particular and she consistently does a great job! The overall salon itself is in a really cool older building that has a lot of history. I needed a new stylist as mine moved away. I am a very particular person when it comes to selecting a stylist...kinda like buying jeans or a bathing suit. You just have to be that "perfect." I took the advice of others and booked with Sherry. LOVE! She helped me plan the cut in prep for a future cut. You see, I am 8-weeks postpartum so my hair may be luscious now but it will be falling out in a few months when the hormones readjust. So a proper cut now to look mommy-fabulous and act as a canvas for the "back to work" cut is critical for me. Sherry was confident and gave me great advice. Plus, she was an EXCELLENT shampooer (I may have drooled when I fell into a snooze) and fun to chat with during my cut. The staff here is super and I am so happy to have found this studio! This salon was recommended to me by a friend who gets her hair done by Colleen (and I found out a second friend goes to her as well!). So I booked a haircut appointment with Colleen, and she is awesome! I explained some of what I was thinking, showed a few pics and she knew exactly what she needed to do to make my hair look and feel so much better! I only wish I had gotten before and after pics. She even talked through suggestions of hair care tips, and it was super helpful since I was transitioning out of a grown out balayage to my complete natural hair. So now that I learned to drive, I decided to steal my boyfriend's car to try out CoCo Creative Wellness for a long-needed pedi. I got there for an 8:45 appointment and was 5 minutes late because wtf Cincinnati construction. Jordan and the receptionist was super flexible with me, and despite my toes looking absolutely horrendous, I never felt judged. I also got to meet Jesse, one of the stylists (and who's picture/info is not on the actual team listing on the main website), who is such a sweetheart. We chatted a lot about me moving from NYC, about video gaming, and about Yelp! I hope I get to see CoCo Creative Wellness around more! Okay but back to Jordan (who, not to get sidetracked, is gorgeous and suuuuuper sweet btw); she did a fantastic job at reviving my toes. The Spa Pedicure is totally worth and it feels really good. One of the best parts is the hot towels that get wrapped around. Also, they make it so that the polish dries really fast--no smudges! Also, was offered complimentary tea/coffee to perk up my morning. Not to mention, the chair massage was like heavenly icing to the cake. After a number of incredibly disappointing haircuts with numerous stylists at Mitchell's (who were all -- allegedly -- quite experienced), I finally decided to try my luck with someone new a couple months back. People, let me tell you -- Sherry does SUCH incredible work. She corrected the parts of my hair that [frankly] were not cut correctly (!) and gave my hair SHAPE and MOVEMENT and STYLE again. Sherry gave me a lovely cut that made my hair look so much fuller, and I will definitely be returning. I am useless and haven't had my hair cut in a year. Yes, I said a year. It's super long so I decided to go to CoCo Creative Wellness and say, "Hello there. I would like you to cut my hair so it doesn't look like I've had my hair cut." Amazingly, this idiotic request was not only understood, but also accommodated! Sherry was very patient about giving me the long layers and end-trimming I'd requested, even though her skills are far more suited to styling proper women who are more adventurous and interesting than I am. In seriousness, my hair is long, very fine, and grows slowly. However, I have actual tons of hair, so often stylists think they can chop at it and everything will go well. Sherry listened and talked through everything with me before cutting, which I appreciated, especially as this was my first visit. I can't tell you how many times I've gone to a new salon and explained that A. I like having long hair; and B. My hair takes forever to grow... had a stylist say "Um, yeah, I'll do just as you say" and then proceed to do whatever the hell they want, usually by chopping off six inches and making me look like my mom. Well, Sherry did NOT do this. She listened, understood, and gave me the perfect cut. I have found my Cincinnati salon and will be back (and in a few months, not a year). read more

I got an INCREDIBLE haircut here today. I have really thick hair and, well, I'm not the girliest girl out there, so I need lots of TLC and instruction when I do something new. I went in for a drastic change and could not be happier with my cut. My stylist, Brandy, asked tons of questions to make sure I was not only getting the look that I wanted, but also that I'd be able to maintain it. When I went to pay, I was expecting to pay $75+ for the cut and paid half that! It was insane! Not only was Brandy great, but I got to watch another stylist do a really hip style on another client while I was getting my hair cut. I needed a color change and an adjustment to a haircut not quite right from another salon; so I was understandably very anxious about the results. I called on a Friday and they speedily got me in that afternoon with Lauren, since I had a major event on Monday and needed to look my best. Lauren was fantastic, calling me to help me with directions and parking details, then met me at the door with a Covid mask and smiling eyes! She took time to understand my immediate concerns and longterm goals. With skillful scissors and pleasant conversation, she turned an "old lady" cut into a chic fun style. And when she dried my hair-color, which was still a bit too light on top, she offered to take a little more time (Salon was closing) to low light that area so I wouldn't have to return early on Monday or be self conscious at my important event. The results were amazing and I simply love the color now. I'm excited to see how "beautiful" I can feel in 2021 as Lauren keeps me feeling young in a modern fun do!
