While in route to to ensure my timely arrival, I was called and asked to come 30 minutes later. I arrived a few minutes before 4:30 PM and was greeted by anyone in the salon. I waited for over 40 minutes before asking Kelly for a refund of my deposit. Kelly stated she needed an additional 30-40 minutes before I could even get serviced. It's baffling that the website has rules regarding the tardiness of the client (see below) while not addressing the tardiness if the stylist. "If you are more than 15 minutes late or miss your appointment you will need to reschedule with another $35 deposit. Plan ahead for unexpected traffic delays and or detours ($15 will be added at 16 minutes late and $1 per minute thereafter) Please respect the stylists time as well as the clients after you who arrive on time."

The owner obviously has these strings attached publicity stunt tactics as his goal is to put himself on a pedestal for social media responses, he does these 'acts of charity' for personal gain and self-admiration. He calls himself a man of the Faith, so he would know the Bible's philosophy of giving, yet his left hand most certainly knows that his right hand is doing the giving (for again, constant personal praise on social media). He has his followers (knows how to cover up with very pricey 'sheep's clothing), but he needs to truly be less self-serving (he's now running for political office to no doubt continue to serve himself) and self-loathing when folks call out that degree of narcissism. It would be great, ideal in all reality, if he changed his mentality - to actually assist others - without the attached strings and the self-serving/extremely self-righteous side.

I was contacted fast by this location and we set up a meeting and etc. I informed him that I am hard of hearing. He ensured me that all his clients are treated the same and I was in good hands with him, I believe he's the owner. I wanted the girl who was getting a lot of clients but I'll have to wait 2 months for her so I went with him. When I got there it looked beautiful. All these people getting gorgeous dreads and it was black owned, which I love. He was nice at first and asked what I want. But that did not last. Let make this short. He burned me with hot water twice, was jerking my hair and I told him like 2 times it hurted. The dryer was so hot I told him like twice it burning me. People kept looking at me while he was doing my hair as if they was talking about me ( he know I'm hard of hearing) which wasn't cool. I was in there for 4 hours and my head hurted so bad. My babysitter was like what took so long. I basically wasted like 200 dollars . I hate going to the salons cause something always go wrong. But this was the worst experience I ever had and it really traumatized me that I will NEVER EVER GO TO A SALON AGAIN. I am writing this because I don't want anyone to go through what I went through. If you are different than others don't go here. I started my dreads on my own . The one he did looked like shit . He clearly didn't know what to do with my natural hair type . He even kept asking me if I had a perm. My hair worked better with gel. I wax. I have soft curls. My dreads look really nice due to ME. I did like 3 attempts before I got the look that I wanted which is free. If you want to start dreads. Please take my advise. Do it yourself.
