Unfortunately, my most recent appointment on June 13, 2025, with Shaniqua was so upsetting and unprofessional that I felt compelled to leave this review. From the moment I walked in, something was off. The owner wasn't present, the music was blasting, and the conversations among the stylists were bizarre, inappropriate, and downright uncomfortable -- especially for a group of women of a certain age who should know better. As a woman of color, when we choose cultured salons, we do so for comfort, safety, and the sense of community -- and none of that was present this day. My service was rushed and painful. The loc takedown was done carelessly, resulting in so much hair loss it made me cry. My hair wasn't properly detangled or deep conditioned, and the blow dry was incomplete. What made it worse was the stylist's constant complaints about how tired she was and how she didn't want to be there the next day. If you're exhausted and mentally checked out, why take the appointment or why not reschedule or pass it to another stylist within the salon? The biggest disappointment is that I called the salon twice, leaving detailed voicemails for the owner explaining my experience -- and I have yet to receive a single call back. That lack of acknowledgment or concern for a loyal client's experience hurts more than paying for a service that wasn't delivered. It makes it clear that customer care and professional standards aren't a priority here. I sincerely hope this review reaches the owner and staff, and that moving forward policies and training are put in place to protect clients from experiences like mine. No one should pay for poor service and leave a salon feeling worse than when they arrived. Do better, House of Beauty.

Post Covid, my hair was so long and in such a sea hag state I was tempted to cut it all off. Ashley was my voice of reason and I went with a long layered bob style instead. I thought I would be a little horrified by such a sharp transition from long covid hair to above the shoulders, but, it looked beautiful. I don't have the best beauty skill set and I also have tight spiral curls. Even with my deficiencies in daily styling, my cut is so good it just springs to life and looks great. I have learned in the past that not every stylist can cut spiral curls well. The other clients at this salon always leave looking great. They have a coffee and snack bar in the front and the business is attractive and clean. I would be remiss if I did not mention Kristen who gives the best relaxing head massage I have ever had when she helps out shampooing. I highly recommend this business.

I got my lips done and loved them in 2017. I went back again for touch ups and again for more filler over a course of time! She injected incorrectly in my mucocutaneous line, also known as the wet dry boarder, which caused this. (I'm not a professional, obviously this is what I have been told when searching for places to get my lips fixed!) She lifted up my lip and injected underneath and once finding out what happened to my lips, I asked why this happened and she said she didn't even inject there. Things like this can happen, When the lips migrate I get that, however, when an injector injects right into that spot underneath your lips, and then lies, that's a big difference !!! When going back, doctor Brenza kicked me out of the office and told me I was never allowed to return. I went to many different doctors and they said she has to be the one to fix it and dissolve it. One plastic surgeon even wrote her a letter saying that it may need to be cut out at this point bc it could be scar tissue. My lips are so un even. I found one doctor that did try dissolving it and it didn't budge.. however, nobody wants to try to refill them, she should fix them. I have tried to reach out to her because the last picture is 2023 TODAY my lips look worse and the lumps underneath are bigger than before. She ignores all my messages when all I ask her to do is look at them to see if there is anything she could do. Just be careful if you ever go here!!!! She fooled me with being the nicest person ever!! Also, don't try and say you tried to fix the problem like you do in these other comments. You left me with botched lips for years and they have only gotten worse! I will continue to spread the word.

It was never right so even the reasonable price isn't justified imo. I'd rather pay $10-$20 more and have a smooth/ even tan. And a place that fixes issues before you leave. I had an event and there was no opportunity to stop back in to get fixed.

They let me sit and conversed with us equally while we waited for his stylist to be ready. Inside it was very retro barber-esc. He has been three times now, and I wanted to let him go a few times before reviewing. That said I am so happy we found this place for him after he moved from his old barber. He really enjoys his haircuts every time he goes. It always looks so similar to the picture he wants / how he describes. It's also awesome that he has been to multiple stylist's who work here and have enjoyed each of the cuts equally. Definitely give them a try, even if you have hair-cut anxiety or aren't sure exactly what you want.
