I've been going to B Space Salon for a few months now. I see Rylie who does my haircoloring and haircuts as well when needed. I moved to SLC a year ago and have been looking for my hairstylist and I know I found her finally! Where I moved from, I had been going to the same stylist for almost 10 years. So the new stylist had big shoes to fill. Rylie is kind, understanding, and listens without getting frustrated. I know I can be a bit difficult when it comes to my hair because my old hairstylist had known me for so long she knew exactly what to do. Seeing a new hairstylist can be difficult because the color is a different brand, the toners are different, etc. etc. Rylie has been nothing but understanding with me and listened to my "let's try this" etc. And we finally got to a PERFECT color! She is amazing and does a great job! The salon itself is super cute and parking is very easy. They often have great deals on hair products and have a good selection. I always see Jared, and he always does my hair in a way that makes me feel that I look great. He's attentive, personable, and patient -- never rushes, always makes me feel that I'm the most important person on his calendar that day. There have been a couple of times that I haven't been able to see Jared (vacation, usually), and the other stylists who have seen me have been outstanding as well. You need to book b Space well in advance because they are busy there, but I wouldn't consider going anywhere else. read more

Response to the owner about my previous review: There's nothing I hate more than when people try to put words in my mouth that I never once said. I've been platinum blonde my whole life. I don't want to go back. I specifically told Brenley I wanted just to go a little lighter from my current level 2 color because it just did not look good with my skin tone. We even had a conversation about the damage of going too light, and I told her I was only expecting to go up 2-3 levels. Also, all that nonsense about me agreeing to price increases is BS. She only communicated with me once about price, and that was when I asked her what the maximum price would be and she said "mid hundreds." I told her that's as high as I could go. I'm not sure who you THINK overheard our conversations, but they surely heard wrong, or they're just supporting Brenley because they like her. Let's say that hypothetically I truly wanted to be a level 10 blonde, and my current level was 2. Do you think, as a professional colorist, you would let your client get there in one day? Absolutely not. Because you'd recognise the damage that it would do. But Brenley did it anyways. Another thing. You see the pictures above. Do you truly stand behind her color work? Specifically the picture of a chunk of my hair being held out showing the ugly brassiness, completely un-toned, and uneven color job with that random piece of black at the front? Do you really think this was her best work? Because if you do, all I can do is laugh. You already have my money. I know you're not going to give it back. But don't kid yourself. This was a disgrace to all professional colorists. This was a joke. I'm not an idiot that doesn't know anything about color theory like you're trying to make me out to be. I only scheduled another appointment because I was too embarrassed to say I didn't want another one. I was planning on cancelling right when I got home. It's like when you get a really bad hair cut and the girl asks you if you like it. You say you do because you don't want to hurt her feelings and then you go home and cry. This was the situation. Came here for a haircut because two of my friends always talk about how great their hair stylist Amanda is. I was looking for a hair stylist because mine just kept raising the price on me, which was ridiculous. So I was looking for another hairstylist that can do the job flawlessly with my hair because I have one of those thick, super straight Asian hair. She did flawlessly. I wanted a kind of complicated look, and brought two pictures and said that I wanted something in between, she did it perfectly. She like walked me through the process and go step by step and gave me advice on everything and how it would look better. In the end I got like the perfect "new" look for me. I have super straight, fine hair and I've realized that my haircut has a significant impact on the way that my hair flows after air-drying (since that's the most I usually do). I currently live in Orem and threw a wide search for a new stylist to commit my locks to. This was one of the best rated salons on the west side of Utah, and Amanda was the most recommended. So, that must mean that Amanda...is one of the best stylist on the west side of Utah?! *Drumroll* .... And the verdict: Five flying stars. She surely did not disappoint! You can always tell your stylist is attentive when she gives you a 10 minute consultation prior to any cutting and makes you stand before making her perpendicular cut to ensure perfection. To top it all off, Amanda was very sweet and friendly, felt like we had been friends for a minute by the time she was done. She spent a solid hour on my hair, without rushing. I came to b Space in desperation after Lunatic Fringe canceled my appointment for a third time in a row over the course of three months after being a loyal customer to them for over a year. *sigh* Thankfully b Space took me in with no problems. I received two haircuts from Taryn and I have honestly never been happier. I have showed umpteen stylists in the past four years what I want my hair to look like -- a nice 70's shag with tons of layers and curtain fringe. In the past I received what looked like Jennifer Aniston's hair on Friends -- having a stylist not include layers in the back, my fringe being too long. Taryn gave me EXACTLY what I want. I got my first cut from her in August, and it grew out beautifully. I came back six weeks later and she cut my fringe shorter just like we discussed at my first appointment. Taryn was detail oriented, quick, and gave me the haircut I've been wanting for years -- FINALLY! The staff is friendly, offering drinks while you wait in a cute foyer, too. Tika did my hair - highlights and a cut - and it looks fantastic. The cut gives it much more body and the colors go very well with my skin tone. I had my hair done by Brandon about a month ago. He is extremely talented! I have been very frustrated with my hair color for quite a while. I have naturally dark brown hair but I dye it to cover up grays. I took a shot in the dark and made an appointment with B Space and was very lucky to be assigned to Brandon. First of all, he did a very thorough consultation. He really listened and then explained in great detail what he as going to do to my hair. He did this a few times throughout the appointment, which I really appreciated. He did a great job with my haircut, but he really nailed the color. It's the closest it's ever been to my natural color. Best haircut & balayage I've ever had by MICHELLE PETERSEN. She's incredible! My sister and I were visiting from out of town and we both got our hair cut and balayage done by Michelle. We both agreed it was the best we'd ever had and my sister used to go to expensive places in New York. She does a beautiful job matching your color if your roots are grown out and layers in different colors so well. I came here for a perm and the stylist spent the first twenty minutes trying to convince me that I didn't actually want a perm and should cancel. He didn't even have a reason why I should cancel and was just very vague. Problem with that was if I canceled I would have to pay the full price still - it kind of came across like he would rather get the money without doing any of the work. So that was weird. As for the quality of the perm I was pretty happy with it for the first few days. The stylist had missed a few pieces near my face, which made it seem flatter right in front. Despite following all the directions and being extremely careful with my hair, it had nearly flattened out by the end of the first week, which is weird because my hair normally holds curl for at least five days. Overall just feeling like I wasted my money. read more

The Hair Salon: I've been coming here for several years and seen several of the stylists--some for full-on hair treatments of cuts, others just for a quick bang trim. Everyone is very friendly and willing to listen to what you want and make suggestions on your style. I also had Amanda do my wedding updo--she was fantastic and I would highly recommend her talents! The Nail Salon: This nail salon is the epitome of cleanliness. No germ-hiding spa tubs here--only hand-filled basins. It is a very lovely area, set up to let you relax. Several kinds of pedicures are offered, each with different masks and massages to leave your feet tingling and sparkling. My only complaint is that sometimes it can be a bit noisy, as there are two hair stations in the nail salon, and those blow dryers can get loud! read more

I called in looking for someone who specialized in layers for wavy hair and was referred to Tica. She did such a great job! She made my hair much more light and manageable, and it looks much better than any haircut I've gotten in years! I showed her pictures, but she just knew what I wanted without much explanation. She knows what'll look best on you. She even catered to my picky style, and offered to add more layers in later if I decided I wanted more! I intend to come back every time I need a haircut! I knocked off a star for two reasons - it's a little pricey (especially with the tip I gave her for doing such a great job - a little over $50), and when I was offered a drink at the front I accepted... But never got it. To me, those things don't matter for a haircut I love. read more
