Everyone was very friendly and polite. They greeted me (almost) right away when I came in. However, the color result I asked for was not achieved - my hair color was exactly the same when I walked in and walked out (I wrongly assumed if they couldn't do it they would say so). The girl shampooing my hair brushed my fragile & fine blonde hair from the roots instead of starting at the bottom, ripping and breaking my hair while I made this face (I should have spoken up at the time, but didn't, I was in shock). When I asked if they were applying a different formula to my mids & ends (bright blonde) than they were to my roots (dark blonde / brown) the question was avoided and I was told the formula would look different on the different colors in my hair (which obviously means they were using the same formula all over - A BIG NoNo for long, blonde, fragile hair). Then for styling a heat tool was used on a way-too hot setting, it was steaming. I wouldn't recommend for blondes - they do not have the skill or care to keep your hair healthy. Today I had the pleasure of experiencing the best "full head" highlights and the best cut a blonde could even imagine. My stylist was Tiffany...when I first came in and sat down I had no idea this stylist could of transformed my ugly messy old hairstyle to something beautiful! She was very concerned about all my requests and did a very through job to bring in the end a smile to my face. I came here for a mani/pedi and a new haircut. The nails where great! For my nails I got Elizabeth who dared to adventure into a nailart picture I brought with me and they came out gorgeous. It was a little pricey but I suspect the nailart played a part in that. For my haircut I was a little disappointed. The lady was nice and told me a few things based on my type of hair that made sense. She wasn't particularly helpful though. I brought three pictures of what I wanted and she was like "ok!" and just cut it. I've always had long hair and I'm used to hairdressers taking their time when cutting it to make sure it's even. This girl took maybe half an hour? The haircut wasn't bad... I just expected maybe some input or advice; specially going from long hair to shoulder length hair. Maybe take a little longer when cutting to make sure everything's even? I did notice today (the day after the haircut) that I have a few uneven strands at the front that I'll probably just cut at home, it's not a big deal.. But still. Terrible experience and customer service. Stylist didn't check the foils one time while I was sitting with the color on and now my hair is white in so many places. Thus, the dark undertones have a black almost skunky appearance. My natural hair is the darkest shade of blonde and looks brown but I have been blonde since I was 15 years old. I went back for correction because I am unahppy with it. Instead of sitting me down in a chair, the Owner and the stylist proceeded to tell me how AMAZING it looked and what was I talking about while standing in the foyer of the chairs. Beyond disappointed. The very first time I went was for highlights in which I was charged double the amount I was quoted. The salon took 20% off my service - which still did not make up for it. They should have honored the original quote. Thankfully I found a great colorist at another salon. In order to use my 20% off, I had to go back to the salon, so I then went back to get a Brazilian blowout and Tyler was amazing. I got two of them by him and was satisfied. I must preface this by saying I work every day from 8-7 and do not have time to just pop in for a "FIX". Tyler is no longer with the salon and I was now given a new stylist. The result was terrible and my hair was not straight at all. She was more than happy to correct it and so I went in a few days ago. She was very apologetic and said that the salon gave her a formula that must have assumed was Tylers, but obviously it was not and said she would use the correct formula this time around. Well I washed my hair today and it is still very wavy. I don't have crazy hair at all. I should get out of the shower and have my hair air dry and be straight after this procedure. I am so disappointed and feel like not only did I waste over $250 but, I also lost a lot more money by taking off work Friday afternoon to have this done. Finally!!! I found the best place in Boca to get my nails done!! Ok so the nail salon search struggle has been real. I've been to every. single. damn. nail. salon in the Boca area. This one is the winner. 1) lots of excellent first class spas and salons in Boca, but none do the gel nails. So let me elaborate - the high end salons push the all natural and organic only on you. They are indeed FIRST class, but I love the artificial nails, and don't care if its not earthy and organic. My nails look fab with the gel tips and gel polish / shellac on top...IF done right. And you just can't get any gel nails at a typical Boca-class spa. 2) there are no language barriers - not to mean in any way, but we know that there are salons where you think you've been clear in communicating one thing, but then it turns out as something else...and they get pissy if you politely ask for a correction. 3) it's easy to get an appointment and they actually have a website. You know how annoying it is to google "nail salons Boca" and find that 10 of them have no website or some crappy one serving as dead weight on the internet?? Been there. And since there's no language barrier, it's easy to communicate over the phone what you are coming in for. Ever call salons where they talk so low and quick that all you caught was "help you?" and you're like...heh? 4) parking is perfect - because lets face it...no one wants to fight Boca monsters in parallel parking near Mizner. They have a parking lot and garage connected to their building. 5) you get in and out FAST. I consider myself a gel nails veteran. I've been getting them done 2x a month since I was 16 years old. From the northeast and sorta new Boca so hence why I was on a nail salon search mission. Anyways...I have never walked into a nail salon for a gel fill and sparkly shellac/gel polish and left in 40 minutes or less. It's at least 1 hour. And the longest part is the endless drummeling. I mean come on...really? This spot does use a drummel but minimally. And my nails look better than they have in a long time since coming to south FL. 6) prices are worth it. They are slightly higher than average, but to leave a place with your gel tips perfectly shaped how you want them, without any bumps, totally shiny because they didn't rush to get the alcohol cotton ball on there, and with the perfect glittery color...it just can't be beat. Come here and you won't be disappointed. Anyone who hates on this place is probably a whiny old fart who can't be pleased with anything in life. But it looks like I'm not alone in giving a 5 star rating. Everyone else agrees with me. See for yourself. read more

Where to start.... The location of this hair salon is on the penthouse of the building, awesome view while you are being pampered. My daughter's hairstylist was so professional and understanding. My daughter wanted bangs but he wasn't sure what style would be good for her face type. The hairstylist started with basic long bangs and then she let my daughter decide the next step, but always giving her options and advice. We were sooo impressed with the end result. When I called in for an appt I was referred to Kerry, one of the owners since he was available and he specialized in haircuts (or he was good at cuts). When I came in they told me kerry was not best Bc he specialized in short hair and I had hair past my shoulders. They should have told Me over the phone but no biggie - I appreciated that they did not just pair me w someone who didn't specialize in my length. Andrea K is who cut my hair and she was great. I wanted just a little cut Bc I did the hair Botox a couple months back and it left my hair thin and volume less. Andrea gave me the truth - a cut won't give me volume. She asked me about my hair care routine and id'd a couple things I did that I should stop/change. She gave me a trim instead. I really appreciated that she wasn't scissor happy and told me the truth. I left this salon because after about 6 months of going every 5 weeks, the attention paid to me stopped. The foil on my head and my hairdresser no where to be found,the attention I received in the beginning was gone. My color was bland and the hairdresser who cut my hair took it upon himself to cut it into a new style (shorter) then what it was. I asked for the same cut. I guess after a while they become complacent..their prices are astronomical and not worth it. read more

I was going here for years, when the old owners were here. The new owners and management - not so great. I was in town and the manager, Chelesa was so rude to me I couldn't believe it. I don't need the aggravation, especially when their are SO many salons in town I can spend my money (ok my husbands money - but it's in my purse!!) UPDATE: 02/20/2016 - We came back and loved the service we received. We were not crazy about how much it cost, but it is median for the area and the level salon that it is. Also, we stayed well after closing and there was no feel that we were being rushed out. I got a haircut with Michael and am very pleased with the results. My wife got a color and cut from Tyler and feels he did a fantastic job and is very in-tune with his clientele. The cut really suits her and the color was perfect for her hair. Previous review: Salon Sora offers a 20% discounts for first time clients. That seems like a great deal, but I feel the discount price should be the regular price since this salon is a bit on the pricy side to begin with. Located in the heart of Boca Raton, the parking availability is spotty and tight. There is an enclosed garage, but not everyone feels comfortable parking in one. The staff hair stylists (like Kaitlyn) are wonderful, and work on your hair in a spacious, fengshui environment with stunning city views from the windows. Overall, the atmosphere is inviting with a food/coffee/wine table to boot. I recommend thinking twice before taking advantage of the ancillary services such as waxing and pedisd. There seems to be very little quality control over these services. My wife had her upper lip waxed and there were issues with broken skin and scabs shortly thereafter. Several days later her upper lip is still numb. This never happened to her at any other salon. The leg waxing and pedi were fulfilled by a licensed contractor that was not a staff member of the salon. This was a stressful person who rushed through the work yet still charged top dollar for her services. In addition, she was just recovering from a chemical peel and her skin was falling off her face. It made for an uncomfortable situation. Not only that, but another customer rudely interrupted my wife's pedicure, complaining about the front desk and feeling as though she was being mishandled as a client. My wife noted that she was not the only discontent client that day. The ancillary services were a chaotic and stressful experience. Please note, someone did call to ask how my wife's experience was at the salon the following business day, but the call seemed like an obligatory follow-up rather than sincere desire to get comprehensive feedback. For a more intimate experience, with staff members who truly seem to care about their clients and charge fair prices, we recommend Tyler Presley in Delray. Parking is easier there, and the owner (who has a sunny, warm disposition) always chats with her clients; providing a welcoming environment. It's a smaller venue, so quality control is superlative. Salon Sora and Tyler Presley are similar yet different experiences. Salon Soras definitly worth a first time visit with the 20% off. You may just want to limit future visits to the hair salon unless you have a person you like for the other services. read more

Here's the thing: I've been seeing the amazing Gigi for several years while she was back at Hue. I've been out of state for a while, but I made it a point to see her during my trip back to Boca this week, and I am SO glad that I checked Yelp to find out that she had migrated to the beautiful Salon Sora. About the Salon: can we say "holy cow?" It's in a penthouse suite, and it looks every bit as spotless and luxurious in real life as it does in the photos. Everyone I spoke with was incredibly friendly, and the prices were beyond amazing for the quality of service offered. About Gigi: Seriously, the woman is an artist. She's one of the few people I've ever trusted with my hair--she's skilled in cutting both curly and straight hair, and she's also great with color. It was my second time to the salon .The first time it was no the result that I like it but I paid and I give them a second shots.I call I book my appointment for color an hair cut and blow dry, and I booked with different hairstylist than the first time.I color my hair with one hairstylist and I was washing my head when the guy told me that the person that I book my appointment was no more available I was shocked and I asked what happens but he cannot tell me what happens.I told him that I will put my hairs on the dryer and go he comes and tells me that another person will be available in 30 minutes, I was shocked.I was going to pay and they asked me 161$ for a color I tell to the receptionist that I received a color and it was an overcharged.I don't know how they are still open because this is so crazy and plus I never hear any apologies about.For me they can close the business .Stay away !!!I left without blow dry and haircut no apologies at all. read more

I started going to Salon Sora about two years ago after moving to Delray. I was so scared to try a new hair salon because I have had some major disasters in the past! As soon as I walked into the beautiful penthouse suit that Salon Sora is located in I walk taken back with how beautiful it was, along with the panoramic views! When I went in for my first appointment Kaelyn she patiently listened as I described exactly what I wanted, and more importantly, what I DIDN'T want. When I told her I was thinking about full bangs she took the time to fully tell me the pros and cons, and commitment, of testing out this style and made sure I knew how to style it with my naturally wavy and extremely fine hair before I committed to this style. She did a wonderful job angling the front of my hair giving the appearance of heavily layered hair without making my already fine hair seem even thinner. When it comes time to wash my hair, I love the touch of the warm lavender scented towel across my chest. It allows me to relax and really enjoy the invigorating massing wash. The first time I visited salon sora It had been a while since I last had my hair cut because I have endured some pretty awful cuts in the past and was very hesitant to try someone new after moving down to the Delray area.
