Jamie was excellent as was the entire staff! I have been working on growing out some of my gray and I went to the salon asking to get my roots colored as I was loosing steam on my goal! Tim is a fabulous hair stylist!!!! I'm so grateful I found Tim! After hurricane Ian, (my regular salon on sanibel was destroyed) I've struggled finding a new stylist. I had a disappointing (bad) haircut elsewhere months ago and have been hesitant scheduling my next cut with someone new. My color needed some desperate help as well. I had an 11:30 appointment for a first time color and cut with Tim, but despite having sat at the salon until after 12, I never met him. He was running late, and didn't bother to come out and introduce himself or apologize for running late. I had a 1:30 appointment elsewhere, with someone whose time I am considerate of and was concerned about making it on time. I asked the receptionist, who was lovely, for an update. When she returned I was told verbatim "Tim is very laid back and when I asked him how much longer he would be he said 'oh, she can wait'". No matter how good a job Tim could potentially do with cutting hair, his lack of respect for his clients shows a level of unprofessionalism that loses trust and revenue. Your job as a business owner-especially a new business- is to attract and retain clients, not drive them away. I will be taking my business to somewhere more professional. read more

Loved Rachel! Was desperate for a long overdue cut/color/highlights after moving here. Since living in New England for 30+ years, the vibrant sun and humidity have left me clueless how I should be covering my gray to last more than 2 weeks (!) as well as how to look fresh & not constantly frizzy. Rather than a single process and/or full/half foils, Rachel's did a root touch up and a great simple cut. Just a touch different than my standard decade-long style. My hair looks great. Root touch up looks like me but better. I was impressed that she listened and hit on what I wanted. A style I can still have while out in the sun daily with a hat. Lovely clean salon. And root touch/up and cut was much less $$$ than my "normal" 8 week visit up north. Happy customer. read more

Before I set up the appointment, I specifically noted that I have many years of experience with Davines and maintain tight control over my formula. I sent the formula in advance and walked in the door with the formula, but Rachel insisted in making the call herself despite my asking to see the swatches. Rachel got it wrong--I ended up with too much gold in the highlights. After playing phone tag with the salon manager Katie, she also dismissed my need for future input and insisted that that her stylists could not maintain transparency about the formula or negotiate the color and formula in advance of application. I will not be returning and warn others not to make the mistake of patronizing Salon Tate. Color theory is not rocket science and my hair is not your intellectual property, especially if I walk in the door with a base formula. If you are going to be a bigger diva than any of your clients, you need to at least get the color right. read more

I have been getting my hair done with Tim for close to 20 years. He is the color guru for picking the exact right shade to compliment my look. I frequently receive compliments on how natural the color looks and my hair texture is soft and silky despite the processing. He is also an expert stylist and is very exacting when cutting. I once had to get my hair done in a NYC salon and they knew of Tim once the stylist discovered I was from Ft Myers. Josh was the stylist who did my hair (both cut and color) this week and I'm obsessed. He knew exactly what I wanted done and executed it perfectly. My grays (he called them "sparklers" :) are now covered and my highlights are fresh for summer! he also evened out my hair a little bit after my last cut left one side feeling heavy. I have thick, pretty curly hair and he was unfazed by my crazy mane. Some stylists aren't sure what to do with thick hair or curls, and he did an incredible job. They also use Davines products which I LOVE and work so well on my hair. The salon itself is beautiful, clean and modern, and all of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful! I heard them talking about upcoming classes all the stylists were taking, which makes me know they are up to date on trends and technique. I thought the prices were fair and the service exceptional. From the moment I walked in I was impressed! This salon is sleek, clean, and gorgeous! I was greeted by the receptionist who took me to meet my stylist, Josh. He was super professional and very thorough about asking questions about hair care and what I wanted for the end result. I appreciated him listening and I felt super comfortable.
