My hair stylist recently started working at this salon a couple of months ago. He has a lot of talent and I am always happy with my highlights and cut. This salon is very nice and I was impressed with it from the moment I walked in the door. I only know my hair stylist, so I can't review anyone else who works at this salon. If you're looking for a new stylist, ask for Phillip - you won't be disappointed!

I've been a customer of Salon UnHwa for several years... I LOVE getting my hair done here!

I just moved to Charleston from Phoenix, where I went to a fantastic stylist and colorist at Sassoon in Scottsdale.

Sensitive skin?!? Waxed Salon is the answer to your hairy situations!!…read more Incredible experience yesterday at Waxed Salon. I found them through a Google and Yelp search with glowing reviews and competitive prices while searching for self-care places on my wedding preparation journey. Scheduling an appointment online through their website is easy and they have two locations for your convenience. When I walked in, the front staff greeted and checked me in promptly, the front area is inviting, space is clean and tastefully decorated. I came in feeling so nervous, almost on the verge of tears from how anxious I was due to how sensitive my skin is. Grace melted those worries away as I built trust from her expertise and care. Grace is professional, polite, and personable. Her gentle technique and mindfulness for sensitivity made the wax bearable. I appreciated her conversation topics and bubbly persona, it made me feel at ease. Her aftercare suggestions and knowledge make me confident in knowing I found an esthetician and salon that will strive to have the best experience for all clients in a judgement-free space. Aside - I also liked the sturdy waxing table they had..some places it's like a wobbly surfboard chair setup but theirs has a secure footing and thick padding. I liked that they played music. Wax is perfect temperature. Completely satisfied with my experience at Waxed Salon and will return. Highly recommend for those that feel nervous about waxing..Grace will make it less intimidating!

I went to this salon in July, needed a fresh set before i went out of town for a concert. I asked…read morefor a fill in and french tips, this was a normal design for me and had gotten it many times. Once my old polish was taken off, my nail artist, Mike, asked me if i had wanted the $8 french tips or the $15 ones. He had shown me two pictures off of google the difference in design, i went with the $8 one because who pays $15 dollars for french tips?? Well i guess they thought some people did, after about an hour to an hour and a half i ended up with this (the picture shown) and was shocked. I asked Mike what he meant by the difference in the french tips, considering that on their website the french tips were ONLY $8. When i confronted him about this issue he assured me i had no idea what he was talking about. He also tried earlier throughout the experience to get me to cut off my real natural nail and add on a tip, because it would look prettier, which i denied multiple times. I talked with who seemed to be the manager and he confirmed that there was a difference in french tips and that they need to update their website. He offered to fix my nails and was very understanding, i ended up taking the french tips off and when i asked for a refund on just the french he denied. My honest opinion, don't go here. I have been going to a small business girl who does nails all by herself and has done 100x better than any salon i've been too. I've had to resort to Gloss due to the fact she was out of town and i was leaving soon as well. I wish i could say something good about this place but i can't. I should have to be at a nail salon for 2 hours just to get french on my natural nails. I am also pretty understanding when it comes to nails and their artist, but this was just terrible. I uploaded my before and after pics below, the fancy design were the nails i walked in with, the french was their "final product" , and the nude pink was how my nails looked after leaving. For $88 dollars (after a $6 tip) and no refund on the french?!?! yeah i'm pissed off and scammed.

RACHEL IS A GENIUS!!!! First of all, I live in Austin, TX. My son was getting married in…read moreCharleston, and I hadn't been to a salon since the beginning of the pandemic. I made an appointment with Rachel for hair and makeup on Saturday, the day of the wedding, as well as an appointment for the prior Wednesday because I desperately needed a haircut as well as color. I was pretty nervous, as this was a leap of faith that I'm not used to taking. I explained the situation to Rachel, and she immediately put me at ease. We discussed the style (up-do) that I wanted for the wedding, as she assessed what would be the best course to get the results that I wanted. I had been coloring my own hair and it needed a serious amount of correction. She took a few "before" pics and then she got started. She began by blunt cutting the dead ends off, and removing some of the length, about 4 inches give or take. She began a very long correction and coloring process that lifted some of the awful color that I had ended up with and blended several beautiful colors in a balayage process. She then proceeded with a real haircut, and style. The total process took a fair amount of time, and I was in a hurry to get to the hotel and meet up with my sister, so I rushed out, and hurried through a few pictures that her assistant wanted to take. She showed them to me, and I asked to see the "befores". OMG!! The change was nothing short of epic! She hadn't changed the color in a drastic way, but the layering of beautiful tones as well as the best haircut I've had in many years was simply amazing. The confidence she gave me as I started a four day wedding weekend with people I had yet to meet was off the charts, and meant more to me than she could possibly know. Now I'm just trying to figure out how to afford flying to Charleston every six weeks or so because I don't want anyone else touching my hair! Oh, did I mention that on Saturday my up-do and makeup were everything I had hoped for and then some? Don't hesitate. Treat yourself to a little pampering at Pinkhouse. You'll feel amazing!
