Worst place to get your color done! Unless you want your hair fried. Also just to let everyone know when they put a toner on and charge you $30. I came in for a cut and color. The place was nice and clean. My colorist Courtney was wonderful. She really listened to me and did a great job with my color. Haircut by Marissa was also great. She promised me she wouldn't take too much off and she didn't. They were both really lovely and everything went better than I had hoped for. If you want to pay a lot for your hair... this is the place. They've built a name brand salon that is known for being expensive, which I guess is a signal about your financial means, if you are into such things. The place is super crowded, very loud, and the not-great products cost a great deal. I was sold some shampoo and conditioner that coated my hair with build-up when used as directed. I had to buy my old product elsewhere just to get my hair clean again. Also, after stating that I did not want to have my hair razored ever again, it was razored. Get 'em back out the door fast, go on to the next one willing to part with too much $ for too little value. That is what it felt like. I'd suggest your hair can cost a lot less and still be fabulous. "Overpriced gossip center" is how they should answer the phones here! I witnessed person after person use the same chair without so much of being wiped down. Brushes are used from one head to the next...and listening to salon owners son, Blake complain and gossip about a colorist to the girl cutting my hair was a huge turn off. He sounded like a whiny school girl. Very unprofessional and just rude! And my hair wasn't given the cut I expected for the price. I won't be back. read more

If I could rate a zero I would. The colorist Dylan damaged my hair. Once the hair conditioner wore off it was back to dry, dry, dry hair that was over processed by the last colorist. I couldn't blow dry, curl or style my hair, it was horrible. I was to the point I could NOT come back in here or even try another salon, it hurt me that much. I had to grow out my hair for a year and then cut it most all the way off, up above my shoulders. I finally found a salon that I now trust to do my hair and its not this one- I would NOT recommend this salon to anyone. The colorist here are based on experience. I will never be back. I was treated so rudely by the front desk staff. I was running late and I called to let them know as I-40 was shut down with a major accident. My GPS indicated I would be 21 minutes late for my appointment. I was getting just a root touch-up and a trim. I have very fine chin length hair (which takes very little time to do). I was put on hold and when the lady came back on the line she gleefully told me that there was a 10 minute grace period and so they would not be able to see me. I explained that I had been driving for 2 hours (I live in Gatlinburg) - to no avail. No offer that someone else could do my roots - no solution. I just want to give a big thank you to Gabriel for being so sweet and giving me a great haircut. I have lived in Knoxville for almost 3 years and have had nothing short of bad haircuts and experiences from several other well known salons in the city. The last haircut I had was just 4 weeks before, but I was needing to have damage control done and didnt want to put it off because I was so unhappy with my hair. I wasn't even sure my hair could be "fixed" at that point in time. After searching online and reading many reviews, I scheduled an appointment with Gabriel, and am so glad I did. He first came over to talk to me about what was going on with my hair. He took time to explain several things and what he was doing. I have very fine, thin hair and am usually in and out of the stylists chair within a half hour. But Gabriel took his time with me, gave me tips on styling and recommendations going forward. The prices at Visage are definitely more than what I prefer to pay for a haircut, but will absolutely go back. I am always nervous having anyone new cut my hair, but I would trust Gabriel anytime. This was my first time at the salon. It did not start off well. I scheduled my appointment to weeks in advance and when I got there I was scheduled for the wrong type of treatment. I wanted my highlights redone and instead they had me down for a color. I had to go home and come back later. When I did get back there the people were nice but the treatment took forever. It had to be done twice since the first time it came out very brassy. It was finally fixed it looks OK but does not have the exposed root affect that I was going for since it allows me to go longer between highlights. I ended up paying $220 end it did not even include a haircut. This to me is way more expensive than it should be for what I received. I honestly think you can get a comparable stylist at a cheaper price than what they charge here. My honest opinion is to look elsewhere. read more

Went in for a bang trim, was really nervous because I don't really let people touch my hair... But Jeremiah fix me up real good! Really listen to what I wanted and made me feel comfortable. He did an amazing job!! My biggest fear about cutting my hair was that I was going to cut it too short and I wasn't gonna like it... Got in as a walk-in and had an amazing colorist. Can't remember her name, she wasn't friendly or anything but she got the job done. The stylist on the other hand (Martin I believe) did not listen to anything I had to say about the cut, and talked the whole time about how he hates tattoos (while I'm sitting there with more than a few and so did he). It just seemed inconsiderate and I came out with a straightened mom haircut when I specifically said I never styled it and love my curls. I had a really nice experience here. It started off awkward, but I am pleased with my haircut. I called as soon as they opened and was able to get an appointment that day. That was impressive! They told me over the phone I would be seeing a specific stylist (but I won't mention names here). I walked in and went to the check-in desk. There were 3 girls there. One asked for my name while another handed me a robe to put on. Then they asked if it was my first time at the salon. When I said that it was, the girl who handed me the robe took it from me and gave me another one (that looked exactly like the other) so I don't know what that was about... then they offered to show me around the salon. The salon appeared very busy for a Thursday afternoon. It was almost overwhelming because I've never seen a place like it before. They have a shampoo area, a coloring area, and a cutting area. They even had a little boutique that carried the products and other items (jewelry was there the day I went). I was offered some water and trail mix while I waited. I was greeted by a stylist, but it clearly was not the person they told me over the phone. I explained what I wanted and showed them a picture. They seemed to understand. Then I went to get shampooed. The shampoo area has sinks lined all the way down the space. Very trendy looking, but maybe not as practical. The shampoo girl was sweet and chatty. While I was getting my hair washed, someone else came over to the seat next to me and I was getting sprayed a little by their wash. I get that being sprayed on your face might happen, but I wasn't expecting to be sprayed from someone else's wash. The cutting area was busy, but I still felt like my stylist gave me all his attention and I got a really nice haircut. It was done so quickly and I appreciated his conversation. So, even though it wasn't who I expected, they did a great job! read more

I had previously went to this salon years ago. I made an appointment to get my hair colored and cut for a wedding and I showed the colorist a pic of the blonde I wanted. I keep my hair blonde so there was already a light base blonde to work off of. she does the color and when they take me to get my cut I look in the mirror and ask, "is my hair orange?" the girl cutting my hair asked me to let her get the girl who colored my hair. the colorist then comes over and says she agrees that the front of my hair is brassy and takes me back to the colorist station after the Girl cutting my hair gets done. This time she only does color in the front bang area. Her assistant dries my hair and I tell them again that I'm not happy with the color. I go to check out and asked the receptionist if I still wasn't happy would I have to pay when I came back for color and she sad no. (Mind you my hair was very orange or brassy) I then go outside and my husband looks at me and tells me my hair looks awful because it's orange all over. Outside in the sun the orange tones were much more visible. He told me I should get my money back. so, I go in and ask for the manager which to my surprise, is the receptionist who checked me out who I already told I wasn't happy with the color of my hair. I was really shocked that the manager would let me leave the salon not only with orange hair but knowing I wasn't happy. I did end up asking for a refund but she said we would have to talk to the colorist. the colorist came over and was really nice and tried to do what she could to fix my hair. She even stayed over her shift and colored my hair again. It looks better but still has a lot of orange or "gold" tones (as they call it) I paid also for a conditioning treatment so I ask the manager if all of the processing to my hair after the treatment would defeat getting it. she said no that it's good for 8 washes even though I said I already have had 2 on it and haven't walked out the door. She just ignored me. The entire time I was getting my hair recolored the other colorist were talking about me, making comments to my colorist, and they kept looking at me. my husband even noticed because he had went back in with me and made a comment to me about the colorist gossiping to the side. The manager never checked back in on me and didn't even speak to me before I left. I'm very upset as I could have went to a beauty school and got this color for 25.00 but I paid 160.00. Overall, I feel that the manager didn't care about my concerns and I would love for the owner to reach out to me!! I think everyone who had any dealings with my hair that day knew how bad it looked. they let me leave a highly rated salon unsatisfied with a really bad, brassy blonde color and I just really think that this whole situation reflects really poorly on the staff at this location. people pay good money for good hair but I paid good money for bad hair this time. Frustrated is and understatement and I will never go back and waste my money. I was so upset I didn't get any pics that day but I will attach a few that I sent to a friend. read more

I give it 5 stars for my stylist, Sam Hummel. She's incredibly talented. Always gives a great cut and style to me...and that's not easy! My hair is super curly, dry, and not easy to blow out. Plus she's an educator! Most stylists like to blow out my hair and use a flat iron. I say NO to the big FI! My hair ends up looking broom-like with an FI. Sam knows just how to style it with a big boars hair curly brush. Blows it out just enough to twist and curl lightly at the end so my hair sits beautifully. The salon in general: Beautiful, full service. They offer snacks and cucumber water too. Always busy. One of the only salons in Knoxville, if not the only, that has individual colorists and stylists. They do EITHER cut or color, not both. Highly specialized salon. Not cheap unless you compare to larger city prices. I pay $55 for my cut and $70-90 for partial highlights/lowlights. For color I am currently on the hunt for my special someone. I have tried 2 people there and am not overjoyed. Had to go back for 'repair' color 3 times since 2 colorists didn't fully listen. :( They end up making it right in the end which is great...but it doesn't take away from the fact that I have been inconvenienced several times by having to spend another few hours there, away from work and my other responsibilities. As for cut and style though...like I said...go to Sam. She's a gem. read more

This is absolutely the BEST place to get your hair done. I moved to Charlotte for about 6 months and would drive 3.5 hours every 8 weeks to get a haircut here, that's how good they are. I always see Lezlie Price but I have gotten my hair cut a few other times here and everyone is a quality hairstylist. The best thing is that they have all of their stylists trained in a specific area of the trade, so you have some people who do only dyeing and others who cut. This makes for a very well-operated, flawless machine of a salon that gets you in and out, makes you feel pampered and valued as a customer the whole time, and always ends in a quality cut or color. Also, if you're going for color, make sure to get Inoa color. It is awesome, gorgeous and doesn't smell like chemicals. I had been to several of the salons scoring high ratings on yelp up until 8 months ago and was never fully satisfied, and then a friend recommended I give Salon Visage a try. When I was going to other salons, I'd come out of the hair salon and immediately try to re-style my hair a bit before I pulled out of the parking lot. Or I'd get home, look in the mirror, and feel the color was too dark, too light, or just not "right". Boy, I have NEVER done either of those things since going to Salon Visage. My stylist is Josh, and his cuts are just plain fantabulous. He listens; is hilarious, smart, and funny; and is the best stylist I've ever had. If I were independently wealthy, I'd have him on retainer and give him a room in my house. He is THAT good. My colorist is Heather, and once again, she knows color like the back of her hand. Great personality, very engaging, and does fantastic lowlights/highlights. My hair can tend to get a little brassy, but she has mystical powers that somehow keep my hair color looking awesome from one appointment till the next. Yes, it's expensive, and you will get what you pay for. Love the fact that no matter how many people are in the salon and how crazy busy it can be, the assistants seem to magically know who you are, who you're waiting to see next, and efficiently and kindly escort you where you need to be.
