Kae Mason's attention to detail is refreshing. She clearly cares about every aspect of her guest's experience. The salon is bright, clean, and staffed by friendly and professional people. I requested an appointment for eyebrow microblading. Kae was booking out a month for that procedure. When I mentioned that I had a trip coming up, I was pleasantly surprised that Kae was willing to come in on a Sunday to get my eyebrows done asap. Kae made sure that I understood every step of the microblading process. She did several comfort checks while she was working to make sure that I wasn't in pain. First off I want to say that once I got in the chair, she just started cutting my hair. She didn't fix my part or anything. This is where I already knew the haircut was going south. It seemed like a nice salon so i trusted her. She kept going with cutting my hair dry, which never goes well. Something no hairdresser should do. After washing my hair she started cutting my hair. She was not doing it the right way. She was basically freestyling my hair. When she was blowdrying it with the round brush she couldn't decide which was to blow dry it. 90% of the time she was blowdrying it the wrong way, against the grain, especially with this type of haircut. Only once did she put all my hair up and cut it from the bottom up. She should have done this for the entire cut. I just basically felt like a dog getting a freestyle cut. When she asked me if there's anything she can fix, she left out and entire piece that wasn't cut right. In order to fix that part my haircut ended up being far shorter than I wanted. To charge me $104.00+ tip for a botched hair cut is crazy. I didn't even say anything either. Now I look like fucking Kim Possible for the Holidays with botched hair. Never going here ever again, nor do I recommend this place to anyone. read more

I lost some hair a year or two ago and it's at an awful phase in the grow out progress. Not anymore (at least you can't tell!) Kae gave ne the best consultation and let me tell her every detail about every bad haircut I've ever had and she really heard and understood me. I got an amazing wash with a head massage that give me full body tingles and then Kae gave me one of the best haircuts I've ever had and she was working with garbage. Visited for the first time last Friday to take advantage of a Groupon or LocoLoco coupon. The deal was 1 hr massage, shellac mani, and hair wash/style (or cut). No changes allowed, as I wanted a pedi instead of hair, and was willing to pay up charge, but denied. Anyway...the salon is lovely and all the people I met there were very nice. The massage was GREAT! Thank you, Laura! The mani was precise, but it's not lasting as the other shellac manicures I've had (actually pushing/chipping on the ends). I paid and extra $10 for french. The hair wash/style, well, nothing I'd go back for, but then again, I'd never met the stylist, she had no idea what my hair "does". She was nice, and it was pleasant leaving without the massage wrecked hair. If you're looking for a high-end in Concord, you've found it. This one is an Aveda salon. read more

I recently went to Salon K for a cut and color, bridal trial and they took care of all my wedding makeup and hair needs for my wedding party. They are an absolutely amazing team! My cut and color by Kate is so beautiful, it's a perfect balayage with just the right touches of color and she really transformed my existing ombré. My hair and make up for my trial and day of done by Becca and Amanda respectively was absolutely gorgeous. My makeup stayed on all day and all night! My hair texture is very hard to work with, very straight very smooth, when it comes to styling and my curls stayed in all night my hair was even wavy the next day. One my bridesmaids got these awesome pin up victory rolls done by Kate and it was just so stunning. They did very well blowing out my 4yo nieces hair which is very long and curly hair and it stayed straight until the Tuesday after! I really thank them for being the kind, organized team they are. They did an amazing job on all my girls, my mom and step mother. They handled the social nuances of my wild family. We bonded, this is my regular place now. So happy that after 3 years in New Hampshire I found a place that I trust with my hair and my face. read more

MENS CUT TOO EXPENSIVE. When I called I was told a haircut would be around $30. I got an average haircut at best, which is being nice (got another haircut 2 weeks later to fix it). When I went to pay I was charged $41. I know I was told a ballpark price, but $11 more? Really? $41 is outrageous especially given the location. Even for a decent cut I would not pay that price again. Ultimately I blame myself for not confirming the price. Regardless, I won't be going back. For a men's cut I definitely do not recommend. There are cheaper and better quality salons in the area. read more

K is very nice, and I had a warm experience while getting my eyebrows bladed.... however she PERMANENTLY tattooed my eyebrows. It's been almost 3 years and they have only slightly faded to an odd purple-brown color. I am Told the only way to fix the problem is to get laser removal.... which will likely further destroy what small Any of eyebrow I have left. So very upset. Great service, but here is the thing: I took a PICTURE of the cut I wanted, and went to a downtown, expensive salon because I thought the talent would be a lot better, and they could do a haircut based on a picture. My hair is about twice as short as the picture I took in, and very layered when I wanted a little light layering in back. I happen to be extremely sensitive about how long my hair is in back and I HATE it short, which is why I picked the style I did. Guess what? Now my hair is extremely short, tapered, and layered in the back. I won't be coming back. I also won't be getting a haircut for months because it's going to take a while to grow OUT into the haircut I wanted. read more

I've been here once so far and I really like this place. It can be very difficult to find a good salon in NH and I was skeptical of Salon K's "Best Salon in NH rating". I'm always very anxious about trying out a new hair dresser but I'm glad I did. Denise J. listened to all of my demands and descriptions and I ended up with the best highlights that I've had in a long time. I do think they could change the lighting in there and a few other small things however they certainly are very talented (and nice!) which is what I really care about. The good - Amanda. Does brows perfect each time. Always so pleasant. I've seen a couple others there and learned that i only want to see Amanda The bad - Taylor. Did an awful job on my color, left color in my face around hairline. Went back and she gave me excuses as to why that happened. Too costly as well. What I expected was an apology and "let me fix this for you" Owner Kae is conscientious and reached out within the hour to do damage control, which i appreciated. I had been going to Kae for almost 2 years and recently her work has not been great. Last fall she a her assistant worked on my hair together- I was worried about the 2 sides coming out differently and expressed my concern. Also Kae was hurting me and I mentioned that several times to little avail. The treatment was also left on twice as long as I have ever had before and I mentioned that too- Kae said not to worry. My hair came out uneven and looked horrible from the processing after a few days. A few Kae did give several treatments and a cut free of charge, and said the treatment would last 6 weeks to help correct the problems while the hair grew out. Treatment didn't last 6 days. Kae has blamed my body chemistry and hair. Perhaps so, but the same treatment I had last spring turned out fine. Fast forward- I needed to leave the area and Kae had promised to give me the hair color formula, which she did. But unfortunately she only gave me the Aveda formula and said there was no way to determine equivalence with other companies' products. She also said there was nothing to do but wait for my hair to grow out or cut it very short to get rid of the poorly processed areas. I am now in a major metropolitan area and went to a salon here. First, the stylist was able to do a treatment and recommend products to correct the horror of the damaged hair. She also showed me how to style my hair to make it look good and recommended AGAINST cutting my hair since it would only make things worse. Looking at my skin and grown out hair, she said my hair had been overprocessed and there was nothing wrong with my hair that should have caused the horror- she said the product had been left on too long. and rolled unevenly. (I had told her nothing of my concerns). She then showed me the comparison charts for Aveda color and other companies' products. My hair is now looking OK. I really have loved Kae- a good person who is really bright and had always done good work, I also see how wonderful many of the other stylists are. This may be the best in NH - or at least Concord, but be aware that the high price and hype will not necessarily translate to consistently good outcomes. read more

Owner, Kae, also introduced herself and welcomed us to the salon. Morgan, our stylist, took us right back and did a consultation (my daughter didn't know exactly what she wanted and Morgan was very patient and helped us figure it out). She took a lot of time with my daughter, and the peekaboo highlights came out a nice vibrant fuchsia. My daughters and I have been going to salon K for 5 years. Keith started out as a friendly, professional, thoughtful, stylist who took time to provide one on one personal service. He promoted himself as a "master' stylist. I really don't care about titles... my hair looked good and I was happy. About a year ago, Keith began to have his assistants...who seemed to come and go like "flies," apply my color. I was paying "master" stylist fees for services performed by assistants. I didn't mind at first, however, Keith began to charge me higher fees, inconsistent with the services performed by novice trainees. I tracked these fluctuations over time. He never announced fee changes or presented his fees in writing. Other businesses have to???? Keith aggressively solicited clients for votes, as the "best stylist' in the Hippo. This was pushy and unprofessional. He brought in a masseuse who went around the salon and tried to sell massages, while we were getting our hair done? I found this to be extremely inappropriate and unprofessional. Keith acted indifferent and arrogant. The salon became a circus!!! I was tired of having my hair done by an assistant, receiving less than courteous service, and being charged exorbitant prices. The last straw for me, was when my daughter went to have her hair done and was extremely uncomfortable by Keith's attire. His attitude and appearance should reflect professionalism. It didn't. I've been to master stylists in D.C., Baltimore, Atlanta and Alexandria Va. There are "Master" stylists in Concord who treat their clients with respect, honesty, and professional courtesy. Keith does not. Qualifications come with time, experience, and honesty. Keith possesses none of these! Keith is a calculated, shrewd business man who has conned his clients. read more

Yesterday I had eyebrow microblading done at salon K. I must admit I was nervous and then I met with Kae. She was so professional and calming and knowledgeable about the entire process. She asked me if I had any questions after taking the time to explain everything to me. To say that I am happy is such an understatement! I felt my eyebrows were thinning but it was more than that, they were not symmetrical. Kae did such a magnificent job I am beyond thrilled! It really did not hurt there were moments that I could feel some discomfort but that was quickly alleviated with numbing cream... The results are spectacular!
