I told her that's fine as long as my highlights were visible. She ended up coloring my whole head one color and my total was 460, mind you I have short and thin hair. I wouldn't have had an issue with paying if I got what I asked for, but I didn't. On top of that, my hair is extremely damaged even a month after and I have so much breakage at the top of my head, pieces of hair that are like to my eyes because it broke off so much. When I talked to the owner, she was very unprofessional and couldn't put her ego down to take accountability and admit that her worker messed up and instead tried to stand there and tell me I had highlights and received exactly what I asked for. I don't recommend this place at all. If they would have taken accountability for their mistake I wouldn't have been as upset but they completely played in my hair. They also charged me for color root when my roots were still dark and the exact same color as when I walked into their salon. I attached what they claimed to be "balayage" , when I originally asked for highlights that popped out. Response to Imelda G: Thank you for taking the time to respond. I scheduled an appointment for highlights, and I have messages showing exactly what I requested before the appointment. Second, while I did provide two inspiration photos during the consultation, they were not meant to represent two different final results. I specifically explained that I wanted the honey-brown photo to represent my desired base color and the other photo to show how visible and chunky I wanted the highlights to be. I was told that achieving the exact base color might not be possible without causing excessive damage, and I accepted that. What I clearly communicated was that I wanted my highlights to stand out. My issue is that the final result did not reflect what was discussed. I also disagree with the statement that the expected results, process, and pricing were thoroughly discussed. I was initially quoted approximately $270, yet my final bill was $460. At no point was I given a clear breakdown explaining why the price increased by nearly $200. The process and additional charges were not explained to me in the level of detail suggested in your response. Regarding the condition of my hair, I fully understood that any lightening service could cause some damage. What I did not expect was the significant breakage I experienced. The concern was never that my hair became slightly dry. The concern was that I left the salon with visible breakage and continued to experience excessive breakage afterward. Being advised to purchase products does not change that outcome. Your response also states that I declined recommendations. That is not accurate. I listened to the recommendations provided and was told what products would be beneficial. Simply choosing not to purchase additional salon products is not the same as refusing care instructions. I would also like to address the claim that my concerns only arose when discussing the final cost. The cost absolutely became part of the conversation because I was being asked to pay $460 for a result that I did not believe matched what I requested. As a college student who works hard for her money, that amount is significant. Had I received the result I expected, I would not have had the same concerns about the price. My dissatisfaction was with both the outcome and the amount charged. You also state that I was offered a refund for the root color service. My position remains that I should not have been charged for a root color service in the first place because my roots remained the same color. Refunding a charge that I believe should never have been included did not address my concerns regarding the overall service. As for the complimentary hydrating treatments, I declined because I no longer felt comfortable having additional services performed on my hair. At that point, I was seeking a refund rather than further treatments. Finally, I understand that you stand by your consultation process and communication. However, I stand by my experience as a customer. The messages I sent before my appointment, the inspiration photos I provided, the service I was charged for, and the final result all speak for themselves. My review was never about avoiding payment. It was about paying a substantial amount of money and feeling that I did not receive the service or result that was communicated to me. She was very thorough and efficient. Everyone introduced themselves to me and kept checking on me to make sure I was okay. The real treat was getting my hair shampooed!
