I had called to place and order the guy that answered tried to change my order twice. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries and the guy tried to put it down as a mushroom swiss burger. Once I corrected him and said no I want a cheeseburger with tomatoes, lettuce.... Then he told me I would have to order fries sperate. Then when I ordered a spinach pizza add chicken he told me that he couldn't do that then started listing other things I could add. I stopped him and I told him I read the menu and it said chicken was an add on then he finally got my order right. One of the best pizza restaurants in uptown. Authentic New York style pizza serve by New Yorkers. Great prices, great food. They are moving locations but it's obviously going to be much better because they're moving into a much larger location. I have never had a bad experience at Sal's. Absolutely recommend. If you look through my reviews you will see a lot of pizza restaurants from New York to California. In short, I love pizza. Having said that, fast food chains seem to give me heartburn and I'm not sure why. Probably added preservatives and excess spices do make up for all the time that stuff was frozen, but I digress. Sal's pizza is good, hot and fresh with good ingredients that don't upset my stomach. For me, the stomach test is always my "check" for fresh ingredients and Sal's passes with flying colors. The wings, cheese bread and rolls are very good too. When I'm in town this has been my go to for pizza! Enjoy! read more

Asked coworkers what the best pizza was in Fond du Lac. Sal's was the second choice as first choice was not open for lunch. Not sure if they were playing a practical joke or what. Probably the worst pizza I have had. I was hoping for a great pizza with fresh ingredients. What I recieved was a pizza that tasted like the dough came in frozen along with the nasty pre-cooked sausage. Your best bet is to actually buy a frozen pizza at Kroger's or go somewhere that they are able to make them fresh like Rocky's. read more

so disappointing!! we have loved Sals for years, especially the special chicken salad. the last several times we've ordered it, it's been hit or miss so we don't order much anymore but we decided to try again tonight. well, we are definitely done with it - don't know what happened but it has gone DOWNHILL! the garlic knots were burnt, inedible - the salad was completely wrong and not what the menu described - and the pizza was cold and bland. man I miss the Sals of years ago! read more

Ordered the calzones and they were much larger than expected. Had leftovers for the day after. I had the supreme and it was tasty. Freshly made and delivered to table. Only downfall was that the soda machine wasn't working. But other than that good food and experience. Will go back. read more

Guys!!! I am from NY and also NJ suburbs. We moved here in November 2017. I was so sad every pizza place was just terrible. The Italian food here is just terrible. I opted to buy Dominos pizza because at least the quality is the same everywhere. But I'm in quarantine and I decided on a whim today I would try to see if I could possible find a good pizza place here in WI to make me feel slightly closer to home. After many searches, and looking at food pics I opted for Sal's. Guys!!! This place is so good!!!! It's not like 100% the same as NY pizza but I would honestly feel comfortable bringing a pie back home and having my friends try it, and them saying "yes!! This can pass!!!" This is my go to place now!!! I was soooo happy today I could cry!!!! the crust was thin and slightly crunchy, it may have been slightly chewier than I would prefer but it's good!!! And the cheese to sauce ratio was great!! Though I may next time ask for 1/2 more cheese. Guys!! I am so happy, you have no idea!! Sal's is our "go-to" when it comes to pizza delivery. Their pie beats out everyone else in town. This is classic New York style with a thinner, really chewy crust, cut into huge slices. The sauce is good and they are skimpy with the toppings. As another plus they use only fresh mushrooms. So many places around Fond du Lac, use those nasty canned mushrooms which drives me nuts. I'll admit, their delivery isn't the fastest around, and it can sometimes be a pain to place an order as the guys answering the phone don't have the greatest grasp of English, but it is well worth these few, small hassles. read more

Ordered two pizzas for deliver at 4:30pm on a Friday night. Was told 45 minutes. Pizza arrived at 5:35pm. Only one of which was correct. Instead of a Margarita pizza we got Mac & Cheese. Called and it was determined that they couldn't read the writing of the order taker. Also delivered Pepsi instead of Diet Pepsi. Said they would send another one right over. Called at 6:45pm wondering where our pizza was. They hadn't even started making it. In the meantime a Diet Pepsi did arrive. Now at 7:20pm the final pizza arrived. No refund. No nothing. Ordered a pizza last week via eatstreet. Two hours later, nothing. Called, they said it would be here in minutes. Ok, everyone makes mistakes right?! 30 min later still nothing, called again. We had an appointment to get to, canceled, they said we would get a refund. Week later, called manager raised his voice at me and said there is nothing he can do. Great customer service right?! Well first of all, my friend asked for a pizza with just sauce and sausage, no cheese, because she's lactose intolerant. The guy behind the counter then went on to say that they don't make pizzas without cheese (even though she has been here 2 other times and has gotten a pizza without cheese,) and he then stated "I'm from Europe and we don't make pizzas that way," and gave us no other reasons as to why he couldn't make the pizza. Then, they dropped my other friend's pizza on the ground, and instead of coming to inform us that it'll take a little longer, they quickly threw a pizza together, and now we've been waiting 30 minutes for a medium size pizza and have still yet to get it. Ordered a pizza for delivery. It took one hour and thirty two minutes to get my pizza that was cold. The driver didn't have a receipt for my credit card purchase and didn't care that the delivery took forever or that the pizza was cold. When I tried to eat it I realized that the two extra toppings that I paid for weren't on the pizza. I called the store and the first guy argued with what I was trying to explain, he put another guy on that wouldn't identify himself other than he was a pizza guy. I explained the long delivery wait, the cold pizza and the missing toppings that I paid $3.50 extra for. I actually outright told me "I don't care" and that he wouldn't do anything. He then hung up. The food might be ok when hot but the customer service alone would make me NEVER go back. My advice, skip the pizza here and have a burger at 11:11 down the street. read more

So, looking at Yelp I was going between here, Joe's Fox Hut, and Ang and Eddie's. Ang and Eddie's wasn't open on Mondays and Joe's didn't have online ordering so I went with Sal's. I have to say I was pretty disappointed. The pizza was just extremely blah. There were plenty of toppings and a good amount of cheese, but there just didn't seem to be a lot of flavor. Included in the pizza box were a couple of big puffy dinner rolls that looked really good, but again were just really blah. The big floppy pieces of pizza were also really hard to eat... they'd flop over when you picked up a slice and all the toppings would fall off. That being said, delivery was about 10 minutes faster than estimated, my order was accurate, and delivery guy was friendly. read more

Great variety of pizzas and other italian specialties. Great place to go just to pick up a slice or two. Another great option is to get a whole bunch of individual slices for a family dinner instead of everyone eating the same thing. Slices are large enough to cut in half and still be a good size.
