This place is really a little hidden gem. I hadn't had it in a while and I've since left the area. I was visiting today and was craving their chips. It did not disappoint. The taco special is excellent for the price two tacos, a side, chips and drink for less than $15. The space was clean and neat all the food items were extremely fresh. I came into your establishment last night,and the open sign was on. I asked the young lady for a beer before I ordered. She said oh Christian had to do it. She called Christian over he looked me up and down and said we close at 8 with an attitude! He then went and turned the on sign off. Ordered out. Haven't had Salsarita's in awhile, but my sister loves this place. I got a chicken burrito with queso. It came with complementary chips, you can get either guacamole, queso, or salsa with them. The burrito was good and they give you a pretty good size one. The queso is ok. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't very flavorful. Their guac is good. I might eat in restaurant one day to see how their other menu items are. My sis got tacos and they looked good. read more

The biggest decision you have to make about going here is whether you prefer Moe's. As far as I can tell...they are pretty much the exact place....except I think I noticed more alcohol (a small bar) here. I've been here a handful of times over the past few years. I think I prefer Moe's personally, but my grilled chicken burrito was very good. I have a couple of friends that swear the guacamole is the best they've ever had. I wouldn't know. I've been going to Salsarita's for nearly a decade, and they've never made me regret my decision. Salsarita's features fresh ingredients and a variety of ways to customize your entree. Their burritos are slightly squishy, with a nice, steamed effect that ties it all together. The quesoritos are also a highlight. Their chips are thin and very crispy, with a light seasoning. Heard so much about this place especially from the kids teacher. We decided to try it even without reading the views. Place was empty, although this was most likely due to it being between the lunch and dinner rushes. The staff said hello, but I had to ask them where the line started. They mainly have burritos, tacos, quesadillas, taco salads and a "mexican pizza". you can get any of these with pork, beef, or chicken with a $1.50 add for shrimp. Be careful when mixing these components. I asked for two beef and shrimp tacos and got one beef and one shrimp, so pay attention. The food was good and the ingredients looked and tasted fresh which was a plus. But that communication issue with the tacos and the other that came when they charged a good bit to make a taco salad a combo and it was for chips and a drink. I think if this was explained a little better, I may not have had an issue with it, but there wasn't a calming about it when talking with the staff. I just gave in and gave them the money. That is NOT the feeling I would like when I finish paying for food. I may try them one more time just because the food is good, but I'm not just going to be breaking down their door to get in. This restaurant is very good! If you're looking for authentic mexican food this is probably not the place to go. I ordered a hard shell chicken taco with lettuce and I would recommend it, it may be a little bit basic to prefer a chicken taco but it was very good! The chips and salsa were delicious. Our first time at a Salsarita's. Facility was well laid out and clean. We were there just prior to the lunch crowd on a Monday. Staff was patient and explained how things worked for us. I would describe it as a "Subway-type" setup but for Mexican food. Licenced, with a little bar off to the side. There was lots of guac available, which was good as we're fans. I eat at the Vaughn Rd. Salsarita's at least twice a month. I work nearby, and I have lots of other options, but I return to Salsarita's more than any other place. This is a "Subway-style," build-your-own format, and I usually opt for the 2-taco combo. At around $7, it's more than you'd expect to pay for 2 tacos + chips & salsa, until you see what you can fit into one taco shell! They generously serve the meats, beans and corn salsa along with the usual lettuce & tomatoes until the tacos are a meal in themselves. Protein such as shrimp will cost a bit extra, but if you add black beans and pineapple salsa, it is worth the extra change. You have a choice of fresh or pickled jalapenos, and fresh cilantro is always available. The chips are thin, crispy and seasoned and make a great take-out snack with Salsarita's guacamole. read more

NOT A "SHOP LOCAL" KINDA PLACE I was with my entire family. I left my debit card at home, so naturally I felt venerable since 4 of us had already sat down with our watered down cheese and overpriced bowls. The owner had already rushed us through and rang up people behind us because I was searching my purse. We nicely asked the owner if one of us ran home to grab our card while the rest of us ate, but he reacted with a disgusted face, and said, "I have no choice now do I." Though thieves come in all shapes and sizes, I'm not going to give up my entire family for a free burrito! I had my first ever salsarita experience the other day for lunch. Loved it! We showed up shortly before they opened, but the staff accommodated us and opened their doors early! Setup is a lot like moe's, qdoba, or chipotle. It was clean and bright inside. I got the daily special (bare burrito--minus tortilla), didn't expect much and was pleasantly surprised! The ingredients were fresh and yummy, service quick, and prices good ($6 for a big plate of food and a drink). I wasn't charged for guac...huge plus! I didn't quite find Jesus in my burrito, but salsaritas is very comparable to the previously mentioned burrito joints. Definitely recommend this place! read more

I didn't know what to expect or what to do while living here in Montgomery, Al but my bf who is actually from Montgomery, Al was showing me around Montgomery, Al and I asked him what are really good places to eat in Montgomery, Al and he named me a few places and Salsarita's was one of them and he told me it's like a Moe's and I asked him is it better than Moe's and he said yes. We ended up going to Salsarita's and I have to admit the first time I went it was with him and my father-in-law and as soon as I took a bite of my food I was like wow, this does taste better Moe's! And the manager and the staff were very nice to me when I first went there, and after that experience it made me wanted to go there more and more because I liked it so much. But all of a sudden, my bf ended up getting a job in Huntsville, Al and we had to be in a long distance relationship for about a year and I ended up finding out that Salsarita's had an app and I was getting all excited and told my bf about it and he was like that's awesome and I was like yeah I can't wait to use it! So I went on the app and it was confusing, I didn't understand how to work it. I walked in Salsarita's and explained to them that I was new to the app and I don't understand how to work it and the manager/I'm assuming he's the owner as well told me you have to place your order through the app and I explained to him again I am new to the app and I don't understand how to work it and then he gave me an attitude and was very rude to me and told me the same thing, so I walked out went to my car and tried figuring out the app on my own and I ended up figuring out the app ordered my food through the app, walked back in got my food and the manager gave me a rude look and I called my bf about it and he was like the guy is just a blunt man is all or he must be having a bad day is all and I was like nothing wrong being blunt but even on your bad days you still shouldn't be treating your customers like that and he said true, but I actually had caught him on his bad days before while coming there more often and seeing him treat his customers like shit but still it isn't right and doesn't give you the right to treat your customers like shit even on your bad days because if it were like Chick-fil-A they wouldn't have done that even on their bad days cause if they would've done that, someone would've been fired immediately! My husband and I visited Salsarita's for the first time a couple months ago and our experience was overall - good. Nothing more, nothing less. We both got quesorito's - he a large, me a medium (or normal size). The employees were friendly, patient with customers and helpful. Huge downside- my husband found a hair in his food! We didn't notify anyone, but were very disappointed by this discovery. Also I loved that they had fresh cilantro as a topping option, however mine tasted gritty like it hadn't been washed properly. First time ever trying Salsarita and it was not a good experience. Took me about 15 minutes to place an order in a line of about 5 people, plus another 10 minutes to actually get the food made. I ordered a steak Burrito and it was not pleasing, steak tasted terrible, they were out of a lot of vegetables, and ripped my burrito while rolling it. This place makes Moes look like a 5 star restaurant. Only reason I gave it 2 stars is because the food is edible and I'm sure the chicken isn't as bad as the steak. read more

I love this place. It is a Mexican style restaurant with a made to order assembly line type of set up similar to Moes. Everything is so fresh. Great ingredients. And very fast. I love that they have different types of salsa and a true hot salsa. Great guacamole. I eat here a couple of times a week. As good as if not better than any restaurant of its type but with a lower price point. The restaurant is always clean as are the bathrooms. I don't know why this place isn't busier. Very disappointed. Ordered a quesorito, which has queso on the outside. I asked to have the queso put on the inside instead of the outside and was told it would be $3 extra... I thought they were kidding. The margarita on the rocks tasted like straight mix. The tortilla chips are suppose to be seasoned... not one was. Too pricey to be disappointed. This place, really fresh food. However, the portions are so stingy and the server / sides distributor staff's chief responsibility seems to be to ensure strict compliance with unreasonably low portion levels. I chose pulled pork taco. I jest not when I report that the server seemed to be literally counting the strands of pork he loaded. I thought he was joking, the tiny, tiny portions they use when making the taco, alas, no, totally serious. For the cost, I would have expected a more generous portion. I ordered a side of chips and guac. Instead of filling up a separate container with, you know, chips and guac, the staff just threw the chips in the same container with the entree, having to leave enough room for the pitifully small guac round. I guess this was to make sure that not only was their chip portion size reduced thereby saving the owner money but also saved the owner the cost of an additional container (which I assumed would have already been priced into the cost). This place is very fresh and reasonably tasty but the staff is so consumed with making sure they do not exceed whatever minimum mandatory portion levels they have set that it detracts from the overall eating experience. I shan't return, at least until I hear they have increased their portions or reduced their costs. Also, the counter staff is not particularly friendly or courteous, but are, however, well trained in keeping down to the lowest level possible the portions they use in creating whatever meal was ordered. Again, 2 people, more than $20, like ordering from the dollar menu at McDonalds but paying premium prices. read more

Great food, but awful customer service. My husband and I have been there many times over the past year and a half, and pretty much every time walk out feeling like we inconvenienced the workers simply by ordering our food and maybe asking a question or two. Price policies are kind of confusing. You have to pay extra for different toppings on certain things and not others. The chain's fault, not the location's. But ask a question and it's like you're personally offending them. Really only a couple workers...but they're always there...really makes a bad impression. It's enough to be annoyed when we leave, but we live really close by and really do like the food so we deal with it. If you're reading this Owner, you may want to talk to your staff. This has been consistent for us, and we're average, agreeable people. We've heard others say this too. Customer service at Moe's and Chipotle easily beats the pants off yours. read more
