We ordered chicken, shrimp, and steak fajitas for two to go with 1/2 flour and 1/2 corn tortillas. We live in Montgomery, 30 minutes away. We got all the way home and had no meat. We called and they said they would comp our next meal. After we drove another 30 minutes, I apologized (for no reason) and the snobby girls at the desk just handed me my meat. I felt like they were laughing as me like I was lying. My husband went inside because they hadn't even asked for my name to comp our next meal as promised. He said it looked like she wrote it on a receipt and balled it up and threw it in the trash. He called back to speak to a manager whom was very polite. I visited this restaurant with some co-workers on a Wednesday night for dinner and margaritas. The place was not very busy, so we were seated promptly with fresh chips and salsa ready to go. The restaurant seemed cleaned, as well as our table. The waitress was very nice and took our drink orders. They originally got my margarita order wrong, but kindly remade my drink with no issues. Over all, everyone enjoyed their dinners and left the place stuffed and happy. I personally had the fajita salad with chicken. It came with refried beans on the side. I enjoyed the meal greatly, and would definitely order again. My only complaint would be that our salsa was never refilled during the dinner. Also, my co-workers were not fans of their frozen margaritas (they said it tasted chemically), but my on-the-rocks margarita was great. I can say that I would definitely come back! read more

Food was delicious but service was not good. I was really disappointed. I have always liked this restaurant. I have been a customer at the one in Pensacola and the one that was open in Pace. I had lunch at the one in Prattville and our service was disappointing. Our waiter was no where to be found. I had to stop the bartender to ask to take our order and he was kind of curt when asked. Food came out quick and delicious. It did take some time to get our bill and leave. I will come back and hope the service is better. Restaurant is in an older building but clean. read more

Here for dinner with coworkers. Parking lot is a little small but suffices. You get the standard chips & salsa...which were good. There are a few TV monitors inside...so you can keep up with your team. Of course our server was bilingual and very nice. Our food came out pretty quick and was tasty. I just ordered a couple flautas a-la-carte...but also had a couple margaritas upping the tequila to a reposado. My drinks were pretty tasty. But they were also pretty pricey ($15 ea). The flautas were also good and reasonably priced. Everyone seemed to like their food and took home doggy bags. No objections to eating here again...but might go with less pricey drinks. read more

Randomly in town for the weekend and had some free time to grab lunch, drove by this place and decided to drop in. Service started out very slow. I sat for about 15 mins before I got someone to take my order. Once I did get a server things got better. I started with the ground beef dip.... It's was nasty, the beef was dry and flavorless. The salsa was good and not too spicy. I ordered #41 molcajete without jalapeño. It was really good and a huge portion. Enough for 3 people. I also had a skinny margarita that was really good. Order a beer and eat the chips. It's downhill from there. I sat at the bar next to the manager working on his laptop. He appeared to be ordering supplies. Trying to figure out which jigger gave less alcohol. Ordered the burrito grande. It had steak visible at both ends but nothing but rice in the middle. Picture. When the manager asked how it was, I showed him. Caught, He took it off my bill, but I'm guessing they are trained to under produce based on what I observed. I tipped the staff $6 on my $8.59 bill. This is the only Mexican restaurant we eat at now. Great drinks, full bar, good choice of mexican beers as well. The molcajete is out of this world good, and they make real cornhusk wrapped tamales. There are a lot of choices for Mexican in the area and have tried many of them. El Patron easily tops the list in terms of flavor and experience. The fajitas are a favorite because of the amazing flavor and portion size. If I crave fajitas I crave El Patron fajitas. The burritos and enchiladas are also great and a huge portion for the price. The service at El Patron has usually been top notch but there has been the exception to that VERY RARELY. When asked where I want to eat Mexican food, El Patron is always my go to choice because I know I will leave full and happy with the experience. read more

Food is pretty decent here. I usually get the carnitas when I come. They are a little greasier than I like but they are very flavorful. The portion size is impressive and they continue to bring you chips and salsa as you would like. They're salsa is good. They should offer military discount all the time. The service was excellent and most importantly the food was hot and tasty! The chips were fresh and crisp, the salsa was loaded with fresh ingredients and had a decent spice level, and the house margarita was wayyyy better than I expected for a $2 drink. (I expected an overly tangy, tequila-less, iced drink). It actually had a nice balance to it. ANDDDD it was really only $2). In the Prattville/Millbrook area, it seems there is a Mexican restaurant on every corner. This is a family favorite and the wiat staff is courteous and often funny when interacting with the kids. I don't normally review but this place needs to hire all new cooks. Our host was very nice but she didn't have a problem with the burnt chips that she brought us and the food was very bland and distasteful. We had 3 orders of nachos, which none of us could eat so we talked to our server about the problem and she said she would talk to the manager about our dissatisfaction in the food . When she returned, her reply to us was that they had a similar problem a few days prior about a customer complaining about the taste of the food and instead of offering some kind of solution she just gave us the $53 bill to pay so I politely paid it and told her that I will go somewhere else to purchase my food. Never again will I eat at that place and no need for management coming on here now acting like you care or want to give a solution. This was my first and LAST time going to this restaurant. I ordered a peach margarita and it was DISGUSTING. The peach used tasted old and the liquor tasted like aristocrat. When I told the waiter I did not want it, he pushed my drink back towards me. He also told me I still had to pay for the drink, which I told him I didn't mind. He was still rude and tried to force the drink in front of me. I then told him I wanted a coke and would still pay for the margarita. That's when he took it. The food was also very tasteless. Dined at El Patron after Sunday church service. Food was ample and very tasty. I was impressed that the chicken in my enchiladas and my husband's salad seemed freshly cooked and fork-tender. (Sad that this impresses me, but so many restaurants serve shredded chicken doused in some form of sauce. El Patron's chicken was clearly fresh chicken, properly cooked and seasoned, not overdone.) Service was very good, and servers seemed genuinely interested in their customers. As a nice touch, El Patron offers a 10% discount if you bring your church bulletin in with you on Sunday.
