I kept seeing people talk about this restaurant on social media and decided to check it out today!…read moreOmg I will definitely be coming back because the bowl I created is DELICIOUS and it's less than 10 minutes from my house! I have the rewards program, but if you're doing delivery and don't order here often its cheaper to go thru Uber Eats based on fees, at least in my experience. There's been a couple occasions where a few items are missing from the "create your own bowls" I've ordered but nothing major. Uber Eats has gotten sooo much better about refunding for little things like that, so it hasn't been an issue. They do charge by add-on if it's a premium item so you just need to pay attention if you didn't order it in person. I do understand they could be busy and just miss an item or two or ran out of certain ingredients also. I feel like the quality and consistency is better here than Chipotle or Gusto (at least the one I tried). I haven't tried all the other salad/bowl places nearby yet, but I do enjoy the freshness of the ingredients and options here. Their green goddess ranch is good (I haven't liked it at other places). I like their mushroom mix as well, probably even more than their steak. Their rosemary focaccia is a nice compliment to the bowls as well. I haven't had any bad items here so far. The portions are generous, which is not always the case with every salad place. I look forward to trying more things.

If you're unfamiliar, like I was, this is a Chipotle-style, make-your salad place. There isn't very much signage as you walk in, but the bar makes everything orderly and easy to see and order. Plenty of good proteins, bases, and veggies to choose from. I walked in as the doors were opening, and I got a welcoming greeting when I reached the counter. The "regular" size is HUGE and was more like 2 servings. I added the baked salmon to my mixed greens bowl, and it was very filling for my lunch over 2 days. That makes the price of the bowl totally worth it. All of it delicious! They had a pan of fresh-baked cookies out, and I had to get one. I thought they'd be crispy but ended up being on the soft side. They are huge though. Still tasty! I'll be back, often.

I was immediately greeted by friendly Chop Shop associate Victoria. I ordered a sandwich to go for my wife. She wanted the Grinder sandwich. This came with ham, turkey, salami, provolone, mayo, house greens, tomato, onion, banana pepper, oregano, and red wine vinaigrette on multigrain-sliced bread. She also wanted the strawberry ginger lemonade. She said the sandwich was a really good size (meaning that she could only eat half) and shared it with our daughter. They both said it was delicious and both rated it 9 out of 10 for the same reason. They would have liked the sandwich on a hoagie roll instead of the bread. They said nothing was wrong with the bread, except that they both felt the sandwich would have been better on a hoagie roll if that had been an option. I was here for a Yelp event. I ordered one of the Made For You bowls, the Hot Honey Chicken bowl + Hummus. It came with brown rice, house greens tossed in red wine vinaigrette, cucumber, tomato, banana pepper, red pepper hummus, hot honey sauce, Greek yogurt sauce, and house-baked tortilla chips sprinkled with Parmesan. I had the chips on the side because I wanted my bowl gluten-free. The bowl was delicious. I would definitely get it again. I also had the strawberry ginger lemonade, which is freshly made as needed, since I saw Victoria juicing ginger for another batch of lemonade while I was eating. All of the other Make It Original options sounded delicious, too. I plan on returning to try more of their bowls. Overall, this was a great experience, and we definitely recommend the original Chop Shop.

Ordered the Caesar wrap on a protein wrap, nothing else. I also asked for black olives, which apparently are a dollar upcharge? I found that odd... also more odd that the worker didn't use the portion spoon to scoop the olives but rather her gloved hands and pinched a small amount with the rest of the (rather skimpily portioned) ingredients. Also, when it came time to actually wrap it, she ripped a third of the tortilla. This was before she started moving the ingredients to the wrap... but instead of grabbing a new one, she fought that tortilla until it was pieced together snugly in the paper. She then proceeded to cut it in half with a plastic salad knife, which was also odd -- does this place not have kitchen knives? Not hating on her, she was nice and she took her time with the wrap (urgency doesn't seem to be an issue at this place). And the wrap tasted good. But if I'm spending $19+ after tip on a single wrap with no side, no drink, and small portion sizes, I might as well walk my happy ass 400 feet to Publix for a decent wrap at half the cost. Decent food, weird experience, overpriced every time.

It's located in a food hall and done with it so they have a lot of other options. The pool hall has free parking so necessarily worried LOL. Trying to find some place to park. And the food hall there is a large bar so if you wanted to drink with your food then that would be fine. Sheesh fries - The fries are pretty good actually. They give you a lot of fries because it feels like it's an entree type order. So even if you only got fries, you'd probably be good to go. They're top very well, and they have plenty of sauce. If you need more you can always ask for maybe some on the side. Shawarma egg roll - The egg rolls are really good. I kind of feel like I wish there were more of them LOL. But they were pretty damn good. They came with a couple of sauces but honestly, then you really need the extra and the sauces department. Hummus - The hummus was okay. Nothing too major. I have a friend who is Lebanese and I know what it feels like to have homemade hummus, so I'm really skeptical on that because I know what hummus should taste like LOL. But this was good. Actually I threw some hummus on the fries and it was all good. If you want quick food that actually tastes good, this is a good option. They're not a whole lot of Mediterranean restaurants in the Atlanta area that are stellar, and that is still true, but this one's pretty decent. If you want to stop off and try something that is good.

Unfortunately, there aren't enough fast food joints with a focus on fresh salads but lucky for me, Doc Green's was right on my pathway for the day. Located in a huge plaza in Smyrna, Doc Green's is a salad lovers dream. I can't believe this was my first visit! The restaurant itself is narrow but long, offering plenty of seating in the back of the place, as well as the entryway. Doc Green's is actually paired with another restaurant it seems, but I was focused on the salad. They have some recommended combos but you can also create your own with a wide array of toppings. I was in heaven looking at all of the fresh veggies, proteins and dressings available. I decided to create my own and just went wild. I was super bummed because I ended up forgetting some favorites (like avocado) because I didn't see/notice them on the cold bar. I chose my dressings, had it mixed up and then checked out. I opted for a fountain drink and unfortunately, the lemonade was toooooo sweet. But that was the only downside because my salad was wonderful!! Everything was fresh, the portions were generous and I felt like I got my money's worth. I'm always in the Akers Mill plaza buying things I don't need so I can't wait to grab another salad at Doc Green's when I'm in the neighborhood!
