I didn't know what to expect when approaching the entrance; we came in from the upper floor entrance and walked down the stairs. Very clean and well decorated restaurant, greenery and neatly set tables--could use a bit more live greenery to make it feel less cold and hard. We were greeted immediately as we came down the stairs, sat and drinks ordered in minutes. There were a few other patrons dining in, but a multitude of take out orders in our 2 hours here. I work for an Indian-owned company and my ownership treats me to different regional Indian and Pakistani food regularly--this spot hit the mark of my favorite past experience! The flavors were special, very uniquely catered to this family's recipe. My husband chose his typical Tikka Masala, but chose lamb instead of chicken--winning choice of the night! I ordered the Karahi (I love spice) with goat , and if you don't mind navigating through bones, I highly recommend it! If you're in the mood for an appetizer that isn't too filling, get the Gobi (fried cauliflower)--best I've had ever. The service is great . The staff is very friendly. the ambiance at the time was quite ,clean and relaxing . I didn't dine in I ordered to - go the Chicken Samosa which sadly I didn't enjoy. it was too packed with the ground chicken and extremely dry and I really didnt like the Kalonji seeds on it it over powered the flavors making it not so tasty. I noticed they had a Shrimp Saag which I was interested in trying because I love Saag so much but unfortunately the flavors of the Saag just didn't hit . The saag was very underwhelming almost flavorless and all the ingredients tasted separate in my mouth . I'm definitely open to trying other things on the menu in the future to see maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. read more

If anything, I would take away a half star for the bathroom but for everything else I wanted to give it five stars. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, from the coconut curry to the vegetable samosa. Bonus was the fact that this was a lunch special order so we got it for a discounted price. The meal started with a soup, not pictured, that had a good flavor. The rest of the meal came as shown. My go to is usually tikka masala which my bf got but I decided to try the coconut curry. And while it wasn't as spicy as I expected, it still had a little kick and was very good. The restaurant was not super busy for lunch and the waiter was very kind and attentive. The restaurant itself was warming and comfortable, all again except for the bathroom. I wish I had an option to rate this place 0. Worst ever North Indian food, I have ever tried. Ordered two signature dishes- Chicken seekh kabab and Dal Makhni. Dal Makhani: The moment they got this on my table, I was shocked to see its color. I asked them- Are you sure it's Dal Makhani? :) Answer was yes that's how we make it. Who puts tomato and regular yellow curry sauce in Dal Makhani and load them with cream? I am sure they used boiled black lentils, mixed some yellow gravy, load of cream and some spices and tempered it in a pan. Chicken seekh Kebab: Frozen chicken sheekh kabab. Roasted with some onion and chili to make it spicy!! I can tell this with 100% confident, I have tried the best and worst but never frozen should be served in a restaurant!! A hand rolled kabab is not so consistent made like machine. If someone knows how Dal Makhani should be, looking at this pic is enough to understand. :) I cannot comment on any other dishes. The last but not least, I tried to speak to so called chef to understand how it's prepared, I felt an attitude. Food can be average but if you have right attitude, you can make it better! read more

The service was good and our waitress was a total sweetheart. The restaurant has two stories and not much decor, but it is in a corner lot location with easy parking in the front and back. The food was immaculate! 1. Butter Chicken - the tandoori chicken was cooked perfectly in the buttery cream curry sauce. The garam masala they used was tasty and was such a treat for us all. 2. Chicken 65, Gobi (Cauliflower) 65 - such a pleasing appetizer! Fried goodness and those spices..yum! Do not miss this here. 3. Tikka Masala with lamb - such a classic dish and the tomato based curry sauce mixed well with the tender lamb chunks. 4. Paneer TIkka - I have never been a huge fan but I've had this numerous ways over the years. This was one of the better versions. 5. Garlic Naan - the portion size and taste of this is worth the trip itself! Could eat this Naan every day. 6. Korma - I was not a fan of this one, although I could see other people really liking it. To me, it lacked flavor and was missing something. I got mine with chicken. I asked the waitress for a hot sauce to kick it up a bit and that did elevate it. 7. It occupies the venue that used to contain Loving Hut. It's a casual, warm, and welcoming vibe upon entry. There's a TV one on of the walls displaying the specials for the day as well as additional items (e.g., desserts). I also liked that the menu was reasonably straightforward in its layout, separating the vegan/vegetarian items from the other entrées. For lunch, it comes with a mulligatawny soup and choice of potential upgrade for certain appetizers/breads. The mixed vegetable dish was simple but tasty and filled me up much more than expected. The lamb vindaloo was comparably satisfying. Note that you can also specify the level of spiciness (mild, medium, hot) for your dishes. Service was friendly and straightforward. They absolutely have no flavor and lack of or rather, no seasoning/spice which is pretty ironic given the restaurant name is Royal Spice. We have never eaten Biryani so bland before. Both protein also have no flavor. We definitely do not recommend this place if you are looking for good biryani. read more

My son and I celebrated my birthday at Royal Spice Indian Restaurant in Sandy Springs. Islam, our waiter, gave us great service and was patient and helpful with answering all our questions. We started our meal with tasty Samosas. Next, I ordered the Vegetable Curry and my son, the Butter Chicken. In addition, we ordered two breads: Tandoori Roti and Naan. All arrived on time and flavored to our spice specifications. For dessert, we ordered two rice puddings, and Islam opted to give me a slice of mango cheesecake as an additional dessert. The cheesecake was fantastic! It was a lot of food and we were amazed we had enough to eat for lunch the following day. I was pleased to see the updates that were done from the previous restaurant: new flooring, freshly painted walls, new entryway, new artwork, wainscotting on the walls, and additional seating.
