When the spa first opened, I was thrilled to have local alternative to driving into Atlanta. After living in McDonough for 45 years, The Honeycomb Cottage quickly became one of my favorite spots. Even after moving, I continued to visit and maintained a membership for over a year and a half. I eventually paused my membership because I had accumulated several unused credits, planning to use those up before restarting. Unfortunately, a series of frustrating experiences has made me decide not to return at all: * I once arrived for a facial and waited over 30 minutes past my appointment time. I later overheard staff discussing that the aesthetician hadn't shown up and couldn't be reached. Another team member eventually worked me in. * On another visit, my niece and I scheduled facials together. Once again, one of the aestheticians didn't show up, causing delays and confusion. * At another visit, my massage appointment was canceled shortly before my scheduled time due to the therapist having car trouble. While I understand that things happen, I was rescheduled for the following day--only to arrive and find that I wasn't on the schedule. Thankfully, a therapist happened to still be there and kindly stayed to do the massage, even though he was about to leave. * I also once scheduled a HydraFacial, only to learn upon arrival that the machine was broken. I wasn't notified in advance, which was frustrating since the spa enforces a 24-hour cancellation policy but didn't extend the same courtesy to me. This seems to be a common problem and the appointment should have never been scheduled due to it being broken. * When trying to call to make an appointment you have to call several times before getting someone to answer the phone and help. I also tried reaching out to the business about these concerns. It took several weeks of follow-up calls before I finally received a response. They seemed to not really care and make excuses for the actions of the spa taking no blame or ownership of the actions. After they finally got back to me, I was told they would give me a free service, but when I arrived, they had no record of it. Fortunately, I had the email where I was told this. I did use the credit but this was not something that magically makes their actions ok. I hope the spa will improve the client experience going forward. I loved The Honeycomb Cottage in its earlier days and would love to see it return to that standard of reliability and care. Unfortunately, based on my recent experiences, it feels as though the staff and management don't prioritize communication or accountability the way they once did.

No forearms were used (I hate when therapists do that), and my muscles and joints were worked out wonderfully. Sure it was a little painful but that's only because my body is sore from a work out and also very tight! I'd go back to Plumyumi again. The heated massage table is a welcomed touch too!

I explained this to her and she seemed to have an understanding before I went to undress. However, the whole massage, I felt like I was a baby getting lotion slapped on my back, in a mostly circular motion and at times, being poked. I didn't get a SINGLE knot rubbed out of my back or shoulders, the way I requested considering I do strength training. I also requested some lower body, but she never once touched any lower body at all and wanted me to keep on my biker shorts. She was very sweet, but the massage was EXTREMELY disappointing. Also, I chose aromatherapy and never smelled it at all. However, this is not my first experience with them, which only made me regret coming here even more. I scheduled an appointment back in the spring, back when we were having icy roads. One of the days, every business in the city shut down due to weather conditions, and they still charged me as a no-show despite not even being open. I could never get in touch with them to get a refund and was ignored until I had to appeal it with my bank to get my money back. Save your money and your time. Also, for those who have had similar experiences, they seemed to be very rude in handling these issues. I don't plan to return.

Upon arrival we were just showed to the back and the location of the shower and bathroom with no introduction of the facility or amenities. The receptionist did not even tell us where the towers or slipper were or how to work the lockers. She told us to give her a minute because our private room where we were supposed to have our lounge experienced was closed. She came back and told us that someone was already in there and that she took the charge off. No offer for accommodation she only said she took the charge off and she told us we could change in the corner of the communal lounge or the bathroom. The bathroom that everyone uses. We were not even offered a private room for us to change. The receptionist went back to the front and we asked if we could cancel and she said she could add the lounge time to after the appointment but we were already supposed to have lounge time afterwards. Then she said she could call the manager to try to cancel and she rushed us out saying we could leave because a couple had just walked in without confirm if we could even cancel. Overall a horrible experience, and very unprofessional staff. This was a completely waste of time.

We had a valid booking reference, but when she arrived, she was told she didn't have an appointment. Instead of trying to help resolve the issue, the staff were dismissive and not particularly friendly, which only made an already upsetting situation worse. A milestone birthday gift shouldn't end like this. I expected much better customer service and empathy. One to avoid.
