I've been here several times and they'd never disappointed me in their quality or taste consistently in last one year. Love their Avacado Samosa, goat dishes, tandoor chicken and garlic naan with mango lassi. Customer service is fantastic despite their manager saying lack of staff. Been in Austin for 40 years and this is hands down the best Indian food I've ever had.

My experience here was good. I'm not a food expert, but I'm mildly picky and especially so with Indian food, as its my favorite food. I had chicken korma and hot and sour soup (chicken). The soup was extremely delicious and the chicken korma was really good. The chicken was extremely tender and tasted like good cuts. The naan was the right balance between soft and crunchy, not soggy or burnt. The server was polite, the portions were good. Everything was clean. The service was fast. Only complaint is- it was super cold inside, and the booths aren't the most comfortable. Other than that, I think this is my new go-to place in the area. Extremely overpriced for the portions they give. The prices on the menu that they provide in the restaurant is not accurate. They charged me $2 extra for each entree. That was being over $13 each entree. The portions were the smallest I've ever had especially for the price. It was $30+ for 2 entrees and 1 garlic naan. I was told it would take 10 minutes after ordering in the restaurant for our food to be ready. We waited patiently as it then turned into 30 minutes. Mind you we were the only ones in there so there was not a wait. The food was decent. The spice level that the lady explained to me was not accurate at all. I was overcharged once getting my recipes versus the menu pricing which was already changed during Covid. I was overcharged and was given a super small amount of food for $35. Very good food! We got the hot and sour soup, goat karaikudi, home style chicken curry and garlic naan and everything was great! The goat was my favorite. We have always loved the food at Salt N Pepper. Last week when it was cold and rainy we had to order togo. The food was not as good as we had expected. The quality was not good like we are used to eating. The cold weather may have impacted the kababs. So I contacted the Restaurant and they replaced the whole order for me today. I went for dinner with my family here. The place was not filled and the wait nonexistent. The servers were extremely friendly and nice. Unfortunately, they couldn't make Tandoori chicken as their Tandoori chef's car had broken down. They were extremely sorry and offered masala chai on the house. On our previous visit, the Tandoori Chicken was absolutely divine. Our experience was great. It is a little far for us, but the drive was worth it for the great food and service. One of the best restaurants for Indian Food. They are relatively new, so I was incredibly surprised at how fast they got their business in order. They are still working out some kinks in the system, but due to the great benefits, I am willing to overlook the minimal cons. I would definitely recommend the Tandoori, Malai kabob, biryani, and their Manchurian. All in all, it was an amazing experience and I look forward to my next visit. read more

When I saw the sign for Salt N Pepper I was intrigued. Only when I stepped inside was I then aware that this is Indian food (and I've never had Indian food) but decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. I had the 2 Course Lunch Meal, which for me consisted of an appetizer of Mushroom Pepper Fry (very good) and Boneless Chicken Biryani. I did ask for mild, because I was not sure how spicy it could be. It comes with 2 sauces; one made from coriander and one made from yogurt. I preferred the coriander, and liberally doused my Biryani with it. I ate my fill and still filled up a to-go container with enough for another meal! Topped off with a complimentary (and very good) Rice Kheer (Indian rice pudding), I was stuffed. I will be back, and will hopefully be more adventurous next time. read more

The food was bland, it didn't even have proper salt, but they do have fancy salt and pepper grinders on each table ( name of the restaurant?).
