Crispy chicken ranch - Sub Ranch for chipotle aïoli, add pickles and jalapeños. One of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. The service is great and the atmosphere as well.

Horrible. Asked for no bacon or potatoes Look at the photo. They did extra. Took forever to deliver.

I can't complain, though so far I've only been once. I used to always just get the breakfast sandwiches on soft rolls at the old Peri's, preferably with one meat, usually sausage, veggies, cheese, egg, mayo and butter, and these were just as good and still reasonably priced. The place was clean and the person at the counter was friendly and the food came out quickly.

Out with the old and in with the new! Salt-N-Pepper has been completely renovated inside; it looks good and is super clean. I stopped by today and got a Berry Blast smoothie. The employees seemed happy, and the customer service was good. I'll be back to give more items on their menu a try and will update this review with my findings.

Honestly solid sandwich. Dutch crunch wasn't as crunchy as I would've liked but after a long bike ride it hit the spot

Wrong bread and sandwich is falling apart.

Ordered a Surfer Special on Sweet French Roll. Took 15 minutes get sandwich to go. I open sandwich at home at it was made with squishy white sliced bread. So sandwich is falling apart. The guy taking orders is half asleep or doesn't listen. This deli used to be great. Now it is slow and screw up your order. I'm done with this place.

    breakfast sandwich

Their deli sandwiches are good but I ordered a breakfast sandwich and I was very disappointed.

Club sando with jalapeños on sliced sourdough.

I am not exagerating…read morewhen I say that their southern fried chicken is the best I have ever had in my life, and I've been eating chicken for over fifty years. Perfectly moist and delectable bite after bite. The portions are so huge that even a healthy eater like myself will manage to bring home a few pieces to eat later. And eat them with gusto, cold! The service is excellent, even when they are packed and the service is not speedy, you hardly notice because its always so friendly, and well, love takes time! Everything I ever ate there was sublime. Chicken and waffles, gumbo, red beans and rice, po' boys... and don't get me started on those scrumptious beignets! Oh my word! Perfectly crispy on the outside, light and fuffy inside, showered in a snowy confectioners magic and served piping hot. Never too sweet, and not even a hint of oil. If you think fresh warm doughnuts are crave-worthy, these will take you to Nivana and back with just one bite. The atmosphere is lively and cozy and above all, friendly. Sitting alone at the counter my very first time, I immediately had the feeling I was among friends. Michelle is such a genuine and beautiful person, it is beyond obvious that she loves with everything she's got. That love is evident everywhere you look, from her original photography adorning the walls, to the cups and saucers she serves espresso drinks in. Everything about this place is... WAS perfect. Sadly- devastatingly, Michelle served me my last meal there on January 9th at approximately 9:00am. Six hours later she closed the doors on the final day of business. It will be missed by many. The town itself will miss the energy Michelle and her crew brought to the boulevard. Good luck on your next adventure, and keep in touch! We'll follow you to Timbuktu for another bowl of that gumbo, girl!

Tye, our server, was friendly and kind and on top of refilling waters, offering drink suggestions, and grabbing to-go boxes before we even asked for them! I had the chicken parmigiana, which was light and flavorful, and the steamed spinach that went with it was delicious (and I HATE cooked spinach, but gave it a try and actually enjoyed it for the first time ever!) The andouille sausage that was served with the pesto risotto was smoked and you could really taste it, and the spicyness was just perfect. The pesto sauce was heavy on the pine nuts in the best way. It wasn't oily or heavy on the basil or garlic like a lot of pesto sauces can be, and that left the risotto so light and almost citrusy. My cousin had the harvest garden dish, and they were stunned by how delicious it was. As a vegetarian, they are particular about their veggies, but everything was 'perfectly cooked'. At the end of the meal we were surprised by the panna cotta with the fruit remoulade, which we devoured in like three minutes haha! We really enjoyed all of the food, the service, and the ambiance. We only wish we lived closer, but might make the 90+ mile trip from Sacramento just for the amazing food now and then.

Also ordered a margarita, was delicious, balanced, & crisp/refreshing. the bathrooms were clean, the dinner crowd was coming in as we were leaving & it looked lively. hoping to stop by again for future trips. 5 stars from me & the doggo

I finally stopped in after many years of passing through this town. Super casual, I'd even say 'hippie' vibes. Seemed like more seating outside than inside, so not really a camper's spot. Lots of antique-y looking things inside and I wouldn't even doubt if this space was once a saloon. Looks like they still roast their own beans here, which is a unique draw. In one corner you can see this old mechanical contraption that screams the industrial age. No automatic digital readings here. It wasn't in operation the time I went, but I'd love to come back sometime when it is. Iced Coffee ($6ish/4*) Don't know what type of coffee they used but it was unique. It was both earthy with slight nuances of fruity. Lighter in body tho, as I usually prefer bolder and darker flavors in a cold coffee drink. Still not bad at all. Brownie ($5ish/2.5*) I got this to eat for a later time at a campsite, after dinner. I think I got it cuz it had walnuts, I love chocolate and nuts together. But this brownie was a let down chocolate wise. The lighter color kinda worried me at first and sure enough it just tasted like a brownie made with more brown sugar than chocolate. Also more dry and cake-y than it was gooey and moist. Upon paying I also noticed they had a ton of their coffee beans already packed in 1 pound bags laid out on their counter. I love grinding and brewing batches at home so I snagged a bag. Got a Bali Blue Moon ($21ish/5*) which I never had. And after several brews at home, I really like this bean and roast. I'd say this was medium dark in roast and has great coffee notes and structure. Next time I roll through town, I'm definitely gonna snag another coffee drink to try and another pound of coffee from another origin. Makes me stoked that I'm always gonna leave with a nice parting gift after a roadtrip.
