stopped by for a quick bite after a long day of hiking and taking our doggies for an adventure. I ordered the pesto fettuccine & had plenty of leftovers for me to take home. We sat outside the restaurant on the patio with plenty of shade. The service & staff were awesome, patient, and brought our dogs water unprompted. Such a thoughtful gesture. We also tried some corn bread at the time which was devoured by my husband, he was a big fan. Also ordered a margarita, was delicious, balanced, & crisp/refreshing. the bathrooms were clean, the dinner crowd was coming in as we were leaving & it looked lively. hoping to stop by again for future trips. 5 stars from me & the doggo

Located downtown Fairfax in a really cool neighborhood. There is a big parking lot across the street with free parking. The cafe is right on the corner. We were able to get a table in the morning without any reservations. Ordered: 1. Corned beef breakfast: I liked my corned beef and i liked that it was in big chunks rather than it being really fine strips were it's soggy and mixed into hash browns. It was seasoned well and went well with the potatos. Also cooked my poached eggs well! 2. Egg Plant sandwich: My wife really liked this and the eggplant wasn't too muchy but also very flavorful. Overall, service was good and they were polite and attentive. Clean restaurant. The prices on their website isn't reflective of their menu however and it's more expensive on the updated menu in the restaurant. They also do have more options in the restaurant as well. Solid breakfast choice in Fairfax.

The panna cotta with the raspberry remoulade was so delicious that we devoured it and barely left anything on the plate!

The food was absolutely amazing, the service was fast even though it was a hopping Saturday night, and the chefs were zipping through orders. Tye, our server, was friendly and kind and on top of refilling waters, offering drink suggestions, and grabbing to-go boxes before we even asked for them! I had the chicken parmigiana, which was light and flavorful, and the steamed spinach that went with it was delicious (and I HATE cooked spinach, but gave it a try and actually enjoyed it for the first time ever!) The andouille sausage that was served with the pesto risotto was smoked and you could really taste it, and the spicyness was just perfect. The pesto sauce was heavy on the pine nuts in the best way. It wasn't oily or heavy on the basil or garlic like a lot of pesto sauces can be, and that left the risotto so light and almost citrusy. My cousin had the harvest garden dish, and they were stunned by how delicious it was. As a vegetarian, they are particular about their veggies, but everything was 'perfectly cooked'. At the end of the meal we were surprised by the panna cotta with the fruit remoulade, which we devoured in like three minutes haha! We really enjoyed all of the food, the service, and the ambiance. We only wish we lived closer, but might make the 90+ mile trip from Sacramento just for the amazing food now and then.

Excellent selections for breakfast & brunch. We needed to find s new breakfast place and Barefoot Cafe won our hearts. The food was hot, delicious and plentiful as well. But the service was impeccable. We appreciate you, BC!! Thank you!

A wonderful breakfast in the adorable little town of Fairfax. This is a very clean restaurant that is nicely decorated and very comfortable. Their menu is well rounded and the service was both attentive and thoughtful. I'm sure the lunch and dinner experience is equally good, and I'm excited to return soon. 5 stars.

Food was pretty good but extremely pricey for what I got (chilaquiles, waffle and cappuccino). Nice, lively location with outdoor seating and the waiting staff were all really nice, but most likely will not be coming back.

    Great Warm Spinach Salad

The salads here are really exceptional. I had the Warmed Spinach Salad, which includes bacon and mushrooms. It's incredible! The light dressing and generous amount of spinach made it one of the best I've ever had. Highly recommended!

    Barefoot Special

Barefoot Café I've always driven by Fairfax but have never stopped for a bit until today! Coming back from a backpacking trip from point Reyes I was starving. I got the Barefoot Special (20.95), which came with sautéed mushrooms, onions, and blue cheese. The portion was generous, with a hefty 1/2 pound of meat, but it was a bit too overbearing for my taste. The side Caesar salad was a nice touch, adding a refreshing balance to the meal. The sautéed mushrooms were done well and added a good depth of flavor. Solid meal overall. Staff were wonderful as well. I don't think I've ever had a burger that filling.

Decent food but a bit over-priced. Place was packed with people on Sunday but during the week the place is empty.

Is the panna cotta made from scratch, batch pre-made, or purchased from somewhere (large food distributor or local business)?

Good evening! The Panna Cotta is made in-house from scratch.…

Is the restaurant 100% certified ORGANIC? Yes or no?…

We use both organic and natural ingredients.

What are the glutton free options at the barefoot cafe in fairfax ca?

When we were there , they dio d not have any specific glutton free menu items, however when we inquired, they said they could easily drum up a glutton free version of most items on the menu and they did so for two of our party.

The restaurant is quite big. They have a parklet out front which is popping, colder, but great to gather at. Inside is more intimate and well spaced, perfect for dates or hanging out with friends. They also have a patio outside, which is where we sat. It's super casual, relaxing, and quaint. We appreciate how dog-friendly they are and how kind the service is! Everyone who helped us was courteous and friendly, plus our food and drinks came out super fast. I got the Fish Tacos, and honestly they exceeded my expectations. I love how the tortilla was nice and crispy. The fish was well fried, and the taco had ample flavor. The portion was pretty solid for the price, and I left full. My friends enjoyed their appetizers and mains. We also got some drinks which were so delicious! I would love to come back here. Stillwater is a wonderful watering hole in Fairfax. Find them off the main stretch, Broadway Blvd. Parking is free but limited during busy times. It's worth a visit if you live in the area, like food and good drinks, and bonus if you have pups!

My only complaint is that the music is always way too loud. We went for a family dinner at 5 pm on a Sunday evening and sat on the back patio and had to yell to talk to each other. The music choices aren't always my favorite eating music either-- this was like a college basement grunge concert. In the right setting, that music is fine, but it wouldn't be my first choice for dinner, and it was embarrassingly loud. I've been there numerous times in the past year, and often ask the server if they can turn the music down. So this is not a one time thing. Last night my kid actually got a headache from the loud music blasting right above his head. They were nice about turning it down when I asked-- however I have also experienced them say no to the request-- depending on the server (and once we just left, due to that). Otherwise this place is delicious.
