My husband, two daughters, and myself were in town for spring break and got this recommendation from a friend to try our Boulders. First, this place is so cozy when you walk in. You almost feel like you are in a cabin. It has a very woodsy feel to it. Second, we got lucky and came right in the middle of happy hour (Yay)! I loved the fact that they had a QR code to get all the menus on one website, you are also able to order directly from the site and they bring out the food as it's ready. Such a great concept especially if it does get busy during happy hour or different discounted nights. We hit the jackpot with all the apps we ordered. My daughters did two kids meals, pizza, spaghetti, and fries. My husband and I ordered ALL the apps. When you can try everything on their HH menu for $3.99 each! Def have to get a variety. We went a little crazy. We decided on the sweet potato tots, Italian and Mexican nachos, onion rings, and fried pickles. All of them were so tasty. This place has such a cool vibe and atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The outside had a fire pit and picnic tables with benches. They also have super cute string lights. We ended up eating inside because it started raining. They have a bar right in the middle with separate rooms for big parties and seating all around the bar. We sat at a 4 top high table near the bar. Our waitress was super nice! To start with why I gave this place 4 stars. I absolutely hate their online forum to order food. You cannot click on the menu items to see what's in them. I want to know when I get a burger what's in it etc. you can look at their menu online but it takes forever to load. However, our waitress was very accommodating and let us order old fashion. I also give 4 stars because the tacos were good but not my favorite. The food was steaming hot, it was warm. The bathrooms are also gross. Now the good stuff!! To start, I had the unicorn tears drink. It was super good, sweet and sour! It was also decent prices for alcohol. For dinner, my friend started with the beef and cheese sandwich with fries. I'm pretty sure his fries were garlic because they tasted better than mine. The sandwich was perfect size and delicious. It had cheesy bread with beef, mozzarella, and peppers. It also came with au jus and the garlic fries. All of their fries are crispy and waffle style. They're delicious. To share, we had the regular and Italian nachos. The Italian nachos were weird, they literally tasted like pizza on chips. It also came with a side of marinara. The regular nachos were a great size, not too big with cheese, beans, sour cream (too much), and pick de gilo. For dinner I had the shrimp tacos with fries. They were okay. The shrimp was fries with a spicy sauce and cole slaw. Honestly, I think if they came out warmer, I would have loved them. My aunt also had the shrimp tacos and loved them. We only had appetizers - but they were all made from scratch. Do you know how rare it is to have freshly battered onion rings and zucchini??? We also had the peppers and the Italian nachos. We do want to come try some other dishes because the apps were so amazing! However, the best part of this place (beside the actual building - SO DOPE!) is the beer list. There is no physical beer list...you have to access it via the inter webs and it is massive. If you want to serve yourself and have no service, come here. They transitioned to this app to order from which takes away the experience of why you go out to eat. It takes away service aspect of eating out. Oh and of course they pass that service fee for the app on to you. The only time they stop at your table is to drop off your food. If you need something either wave them down or grab it yourself. Need water, wave someone down. Need silverware or plates, wave someone down or grab it yourself. While I like the old Boulders on Broadway for the tight comfy feeling sitting at the bar, half-price pizza on Mondays, and happy hour pricing on drinks, I absolutely despise the multitude of people who blow vape juice at the bar. I don't need your glycerin and nicotine and shit. Grow up and do your chemical sucking elsewhere. Or, only inhale. Second, they're recently rebranded as SaltFire Brewing Tap House, but they really don't have many of the better SaltFire beers. Other than those items, I'd nearly recommend the place. read more

Whoa, with as many times that I've been here, surely it's long overdue for a Yelp review. I'm proud of the owners- it's truly a hidden gem of Tempe... a little off the beaten path. And hope it stays that way! Recently they've switched to a QR code/app ordering system and I'm assuming that is due to a labor shortage. You have a server but they pretty much are just a food/drink runner once you order thru the app. Great for groups or a date night alike.... Or the occasional post-workout gainz meal. At least once a week there is Team Trivia on Saturday, which packs in the patrons! If you sit upstairs, there's a pulley system to submit answers so you're not having to go up and down-stairs repeatedly. They take reservations with a few spots for groups - upstairs (can easily fit 40-50 people), a large circular table, The Map Room, and a private booth area (15-20 people). The beer menu is fabulous- always rotating with a variety of craft taps, ciders and sometimes mead. Rarely are there domestic/imports on tap, most of the time those are bottles only. The food is pretty darn good and is not for one who's watching their figure. Wings and the pizza rolls are bomb dot com, pretty much the only thing I've eaten... but I know their burgers are good too. I hope Boulders stays open forever. read more

I've been a couple times. It's located within walking distance from my workplace. A couple weeks ago there was a group of us who met to celebrate a coworker's last day with us. We were there for several hours. We had great service. The waitress checked on us regularly, interacted with us and provided us with drink selections. The cherry limeade was my drink for the night. I loved it! I couldn't taste the alcohol and that's how I like it. I also tried the cheese curds. They were delish. I visited last night, too. The server was wonderful and one his coworkers checked on my friend and I, too. We didn't wait long for our drinks or checks. The servers made sure we were happy. This afternoon my wife and I decided to get out of our RV, escape the heat and go out for a bite to eat. We went out and ended up at this rustic joint called Saltfire Brewing Company. The place looked like they had a full service bar, like 20 beers on tap, and at least 6 TV's scattered around for your viewing pleasure. June had the Reuben Sandwich on Marbeled Rye. She ordered Sweet Potato Tots as her side. The tots were pretty good (I stole a couple). I had a Bacon Cheeseburger on a Pretzel Bun. For my side, I had Jalopino Tots. The burger was tiny, but good. And the tots were awesome. The reason the place got such a low star rating was because of their beers on tap. My first attempt was Railhead Red which is an American Amber/Red. It was a very sour tasting brew which a red ale should not taste like. My wife who used to own a pub said they might not have flushed the lines in a while. My second attempt was Red Trolley Ale, an Irish Red Ale by Karl Strauss. It was just flat indicating that it was probably sitting there for a while. There's an up stairs, the lower floor is booths and tables and the standard floor is high tops. There's some steps walking in, going up stairs or down stairs. They have trivia night Tuesday and Saturday nights. You can book a party or event here. So we got the starters nacho grande & classic bar stuff. They were both good. Also I got the Broadway flub and if you want cheese it's extra. It was delicious. My brother got the southwest turkey, it was okay. My sister built her own burger. The service wasn't great. They had happy hour but not a separate menu for it, luckily the jalapeño tater tots I got were HH discounted, yay. They were all right, I liked that they were temperature hot but I would've liked more cheese and spice from the jalapeños. I tried a waffle fry and that was tasty. Our server was plenty attentive and called us by our names which was cool. I only had a water, but I was able to get it refilled. We were in a separate room which was nice to have some privacy, and there was a large window at the front to see people walking by. The bathrooms had a smell but whatever. Besides beer, I knew exactly what to order: The Personal-Size 9" Kaiser Pizza, which I have ordered many times. Tonight's rendition was the best BoB pizza ever, and perhaps the best thin-crust pizza that I have ever had, w/ copious crust-to-crust, classic Chicago ingredients. There is no better Italian sausage anywhere! WOW! BTW, it appears that the remarkable owner is the hardest-working proprietor in the business! Awesome service and awesome food! We stopped in yesterday for happy hour and were VERY happy with everything. Our server was bubbly and very sweet (didn't catch her name but she was wearing glasses). We ordered a ton of appetizers, including shishito peppers, cheese curds, bbq boneless wings, Jamaican jerk boneless wings, and the fried artichokes, all of which were DELICIOUS!!! We decided to order one of the best pizzas I've ever had, the thin crust Chuck Norris with added roasted garlic, to-go too. So, so, so good and definitely a really great happy hour. I've been coming here for years and years. It is really a cool place to grab a brew and burger. After an event at the park across the street, a few of us ventured over for a bite to eat. We sat on the patio outdoors. Service was great! We ordered using a QR code that took us to the menu. Our server was fun and accommodating. He was tolerant of our companion's temperamental beer palate. Luckily the server was sweet and replaced her beer with something better for her with no charge. I ordered a burger and fries. The burger was good but the fries were delicious. I was impressed. I downed the burger with a SanTan spirits SunSplash Watermelon Vodka Soda. Oh wow! It was thirst quenching and so, so good. Check out is super easy, do that from their QR-coded website too. No waiting for your serve who's running around all crazy busy on a Saturday night. I love technology! The only downside was smokers headed outside while we were eating. I don't like the smell, but it is a place where they can smoke. Oh well. It didn't spoil my evening or deter me from returning. The staff is always awesome and friendly and I'm always awed by their ability to remember people (that is a skill I do not have!) The energy of this place is just so great and it quickly became one of my favorite neighborhood bars. I needed some food therapy yesterday after a really long day but wanted to practice physical distance in a public space. I called around and landed on this place as an option. It did not disappoint! We found our own table which worked great because I could walk around the hallway and find a corner away from people. As we got there, talk about customer service! The waitresses tag teamed to make sure we got our menus and waters before our assigned waitress came over. Between the tag team, a manager came a few times to check in and make sure we were taken care of. Honestly, I really appreciated that! I want to dedicate this next paragraph to our waitress, Brianna! I hope I'm spelling her name right. She was perfect! Extremely attentive, helpful, and friendly! We were so happy by her service that we gave her a ~50% tip. She recommended a few snacks and it didn't disappoint. Like she mentioned, the fried pickles...hands down the best! I've never tried fried pickles before but because I needed food therapy I was in the mindset of "bring everything to the table!" I'm so glad I was adventurous that day. I mean you can always go up to bar and order. But this is a huge cool place that is basically roped off to only the bar area with like 10 tables. It's weird, and an impersonal af way to do business. I seldom post on Yelp, usually when I'm moved to have a serious complaint. For the FIRST time, I'm privileged to write a VERY positive review! Boulders really has it all: a warm, friendly comfortable atmosphere, good food, great staff - and proof positive they listen to their customers wants in REAL time. All you other restaurants need to pay attention! They had established a small but growing Sunday night karaoke show in association with MadHat productions. But, with Sunday night football season now happening, they were going to do like so many other places (are you listening Native on Ray?) and delay karaoke until after the game. When you do this, the show usually dies from lack of interest over the course of the season. Justin, the lead bartender who had brought a football crowd in, when he found that delaying the show would be an issue with some patrons, immediately called the owner and they worked it out in time so ALL their patrons were happy! They stepped up and worked it out. Where it's often impossible to make immediate change, they stepped up for THEIR people. Massive kudos to the owner who listened to his staff and gave their permission. The same ownership also runs Spokes on Southern and they have Tuesday karaoke. Come and experience ownership and staff who care about their patrons. You don't find that often, folks. read more

Stopped in here after helping a mate move house who lives just down the street. Came down for lunch and actually ended coming back the same evening. Nice bar, friendly staff and good location. This bar has a nice selection of beers on tap and the food (bar) is good. I had a salad and it was fresh and the dressing tasty. I think I found a new place to hit when I'm visiting my friends and its walking distance which makes it even better! read more
