On tap - (half the board) - nice selection of Craft brews
    Denny K.

Positives and negatives as there are for every place on the foodie map. Two positives to begin: centrally located in downtown Fort Walton and very good selection of brews on tap. Food...no/yes...if the next door purveyor of BBQ chooses to be open--yes. Otherwise, BYOF. On the other hand, people come to have a few drinks and play some OVERSIZE games. That's a positive #3. The games like giant Jenga with 2 x 4 pieces, indoor corn hole, old-time shuffleboard (cool), and a few more odds and ends - all adult size. Did I say, Connect Four using saucer-size pucks? Awesome. The one big drawback for me and my friend was the decibel level of the canned music being played. It was overwhelmingly LOUD. We simply could not have any sort of conversation. Place was packed with young people, so an old timer like me might have felt out of place...except that the wait staff is very congenial and welcomes all comers. Good times roll on at the Salty Duck.

Relaxed place to hang out. Really low key. Games to play and football on tv. Not very busy, and bartender is friendly.

Lots of craft beer and tvs. From open till about 9-10 the crowd is 30-50's. After that the 21 year olds takeover slowly.

This place is also a little tricky to find as it is tucked away behind some buildings. No thrills here which is what perplexes me about the menu prices. There's no way the quality of food can justify the price point. I did end up trying the spicy cheese curds. They were good, but again prices people. Service was great however. I don't remember our servers name, but she was also great too! She was friendly, joked around with our group, and was very accommodating and attentive. We sat at the regulars table, and I just so happened to be sitting in Doug's seat, a fellow Buffalo Bills fan!! We had to leave him a note (pictured), I hope he got it! Pizza 10/10 10" pepperoni and pineapple Love the thin wood fired crust. It's perfect. Toppings are amazing together and the perfect amount. And so cheap! Mozzarella sticks 10/10 A normal mozzarella stick. Cooked perfect, crispy breading on the outside and melty gooey cheese inside. Burgers 9/10 Like a homemade BK whopper. Patty is cooked perfectly and perfectly seasoned.

Our pup is old, and has arthritis now (hence, the stroller), so when we travel with him, if a place doesn't have a dog friendly patio, we keep going down the list until we find one that does, or we just grab a sandwich or order to go and eat back in our hotel room. I was wondering what made their nachos so "famous." When they brought out the behemoth that we soon found out was our HALF-SIZED order of nachos, I think INFAMOUS would've been the more appropriate word to describe it! That sucker will take down any man who tries to conquer it. As an appetizer, I think it could satiate at least 5 people! Unfortunately, it was just me and my husband, two very unworthy opponents who failed to carve our way through even a 5th of that giant. While it was a spectacle to behold, I feel I would've gotten much more enjoyment out of it if there were less chips but more toppings. The toppings were spread out too thin which meant an uneven distribution of said toppings, resulting in less enjoyment overall for me. You can't really go wrong with the wings at that price. The buffalo wings we had were a little spicy, very saucy, and came with celery sticks, carrot sticks, and your choice of ranch or bleu cheese dip. They were able to whip up a plain grilled chicken breast for the pup as well, which we greatly appreciated. The jalapeno margarita I got wasn't anything to write home about but I was able to get an extra shot of tequila for $5.50 since it was happy hour (M-F 3-7PM). The nachos, wings, and cocktail I had were in the 3-3.5 star range, but I bumped this up to 4 for their dog friendly patio and service. Cheers!

Just as we were about to get out…read moreof our vehicle, fights erupted around the live music area and started moving toward the parking lot. We took that as our sign that we weren't meant to eat there. So we headed to another place recommended to us by a local. We had planned to stop at Wood Foot Beer Co. after dinner to grab a beer. The second place we stopped at for dinner wasn't very busy, but after being seated, it took over 10 minutes before anyone even came to take our order. While we were waiting to even order drinks, we looked at the menu for Wood Foot and decided to go there for dinner instead. Rather than awkwardly leaving the second restaurant, we decided we'd just have a drink and then head over to Wood Foot. Wood Foot happened to be across the parking lot from the second place we attempted to eat. After the four of us had been eating a lot of seafood during our trip, we were all craving a good burger and fries or some other comfort food. Wood Foot definitely fit the bill. My husband and I shared the frickles and the Boss Burger with fries. The frickles were the best we've ever had! The burger was really good, and the beer was tasty, too. We love craft beer and enjoy trying different breweries while we travel. After dinner, once the patio had cleared out a bit, we went outside and enjoyed the live music on the patio.
