Went for my birthday the restaurant has been there for years but had a nice makeover a while back, very nice atmosphere. Our waiter Justin was very good personable. We ordered a bottle of wine which took quite awhile to come out & there were only about 4 diners in the whole place. I had the seafood pasta in garlic sauce. It had lots of seafood, scallops, lobster & shrimp. It was quite tasty but the sauce didn't WOW me. Another in our party had fish lightly battered with crabmeat on top but no sauce, it looked a bit dry She ordered some hollandaise to over it separately. The pork chops Another in are party was tasty but a bit tough. They have an extensive wine list which was nice. My other only issue was it smelled a bit fishy & that was a bit off putting. Our experience here was terrible. I would have rather lived through the rule of Ghengis Khan. the first thing I noticed about the menu was how extremely overwhelming it is. it is completely packed full of words and if you don't know exactly what you want you will take a while to figure it out. For our appetizer we ordered bang bang shrimp, not only was it obviously frozen, but it was so hard my teeth would have probably cracked if I tried to eat it. The wine we got, which was piled up like it was in a storage room, had parts of the cork in it when I drank it. When we told the owner all of this she yelled to our waiter, loud enough for me and my family to hear, that she would not serve us our entrees. The only good thing about this restaurant is the atmosphere and it's almost ruined due to piles and piled of corks and bottles of wine. I would not recommend my worst enemy to eat here. read more

I cannot give this place a higher recommendation. Everything from the decor to the prompt and courteous service to the perfectly prepared meal. Our waiter was outstanding, reminds me of the old days when dining out was a pleasurable experience. These guys have it down and we officially have a new favorite restaurant in FWB. Not a great experience for a few reasons. The biggest issue was after being served the wrong entree and having to wait 20 minutes for my correct entree to come out, no one apologized for the mistake. I get it, we all make mistakes but the sever, a manager, or anyone could have apologized for the error and try to make it right. I suggested a comped drink for the inconvenience and got push back from the server. How do you not realize when spending over $200 for dinner, the ambiance is ruined when the party of two eat separately 20 minutes apart? My dinner included a soup or house salad and asked to sub a Caesar salad instead and was told there would be an up charge, which already makes no sense to me-how does different dressing make it more expensive, but agreed only to find out on the receipt the up charge was $10.95!!! Are you serious or you just trying to get the money back from the comped drink you ended up giving us? Presentation of the food was not that of a "white linen" pricing. The (medium rare) filet was dry and tough to cut and I have never had French onion soup not served with a nice layer of cheese baked on top. Clearly the small cup with a tiny crouton with a little cheese was not put anywhere near an oven. The ambiance inside made it look promising but just missed the mark entirely. Maybe the menu should be scaled down to perfect dishes, instead of a lot of different options that don't go together which was odd. And sorry, but the first page of the menu was a collage of 20 different unattractive pictures of the entrees, it makes you feel like you are at a sizzler or take out Chinese restaurant, not a place averaging $40-$50 a meal. Overall bad experience, it ruined a birthday dinner and the delay in meal mistake didn't allow for us to get a drink by the water at sunset which we had planned to do before a show we had tickets for. Been intending to update this and today i definitely have time. I despise having to give bad reviews so I never do , too soon after a bad experience. My first visit was with my Caucasian guy friend , went back with my daughter one evening wanted to just sit at the bar and have wine and cake; the owner was actually behind the bar at that time; didn't greet us at all. The owner told the-server , no they have to get a table if having any food,I asked why and She said no explanation. Right after 2 patrons come in sit at the bar the owner starts chatting them up and they have food at the bar followed by another couple with drinks. The whole time being served by the owner who just give my daughter and I these looks. I ignored the past reviews and bad history this restaurant had with previous employees , including the statements about her being racist because I don't take everyone's experience or opinion as fact. However that night I felt as if those statements were true and the treatment was hurtful! I eat well and I tip well so I expect to be treated with hospitality when I seek it because that's what dining out is about! The young lady that served us was very kind and turned the night around but 2 years later here I am in another state recalling one of the worst dining experiences of my life. It's saddening, when you try to support local spots as a local and are made to feel un welcome! She should know better considering the place is empty most of the off season there. There was another table of local patrons there for dinner sitting by us with one of them complaining about her demeanor, and the service. He was the only black person in that group. The service was outstanding and the ambience was good, although we had an older couple behind us that was very loud. Then a couple, friends of the loud couple arrived and sat adjacent to us and they were conducting conversations amongst themselves, talking over us. The food wasn't very good. I chose the baked lobster tail and my husband chose the steak. My lobster tail was rubbery and very difficult to cut into, my husband even offered me his steak knife and I still had a hard time. My husband's steak was very bland no seasoning. I will say my side salad was great. But I talked to my daughter about our experience there and mentioned to her about the food and she asked why we didn't point out our displeasure, I told her because we didn't want any issues with a replacement dinner as we have experienced issues before (not at the restaurant) with return meals to find unnecessary displeasure from the chef. What a sad, over-priced dish. A dried out fillet with artichokes, capers and a sprinkling of crab meat. Sounds good, right? It wasn't. No sauce of any kind. Nothing to bring the ingredients together. It actually made me angry, because the dish displayed a complete lack of both vision and technique. It tasted like something prepared by a first semester culinary student. Some context. We are visiting from Pennsylvania and we came during the off-season and normally wouldn't eat at a place this pricey. I would give this place 5 stars if I could but this is my first review and I like to be as realistic as possible. We had the lobster and my mom had a glass of wine. Lobster was a stand out among the normal stuff we had in PA. It was meaty, not at all rubbery, slightly sweet, big, and made me actually use the lemon which gave the taste another dimension. The portion of food was just right for me. I have a small stomach and wasn't necessarily hungry before but it left me feeling satiated, fulfilled. On to the service. I cannot tell if the standard for service is a cultural thing or just because this is a higher priced restaurant but the service was exceptional. We had a very attentive and sweet server named Justin, he chose my mom's glass of wine, which she loved. In all honesty, I had a sip and it's one of the first wines I've liked. We came to Fort Walton and we were looking for a good restaurant for dinner. We saw this restaurant and decided to give it a try. It's very nice inside and looks like it was recently remodeled. We opened the menu and there is a wide variety of entrées from fresh fish to steak. We opted for the lobster, the muscles, and the seared Aji. All three dishes were very good, and Michael, our waiter, was very attentive. They have a good assortment of wine and beer as well. They also have a full bar. If you're in Fort Walton and you're looking for a good seafood restaurant, give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. read more

I want to start this review by noting that many Florida restaurants are still feeling the effects of staff shortages due to Covid. As a result, I think all diners should exhibit grace towards restaurants and wait staff when dining out. The food was wonderful! I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs and my wife ordered the fillet and garlic potatoes. The steak practically melted in the mouth and the meatballs were well seasoned. The sauce was a bit bland and could have used more of it and the potato's are a little over garlicky but overall I would say the food was a solid 4 stars if a bit over priced. The inside looked nice and was clean aside from a large number of wine boxes stored in the lobby (due to over ordering and running out of storage space in the back they said). The one downside was the wait staff, which is not really their fault because they only had 2 waiters for the entire restaurant due to staff shortages. The waiter was understandably flustered and a bit forgetful but we got everything we ordered eventually. I would say this restaurant is definitely worth a visit but make sure to set aside most of your evening. If you aren't in a hurry and are ready to spend some time waiting, then you should have a pleasant time. I would probably add 30 minutes to your usual expected dining time. read more

What a sad excuse for an upscale restaurant - the outside looks like it could be a Macaroni Grill and the inside is only slightly better though it looks like it caters to a less trendy older crowd. Our server looked and acted like he would have rather been anywhere else but working at this restaurant. He did the bare minimum with taking our order and bringing the initial water glasses but disappeared after that. We started out with the shrimp and scallops in red thai curry, which was really quite delicious. This is the only dish I can recommend with a good conscience. After tasting this delicious outlier, the rest of our meal was a downhill ride. My friend and I both ordered variations of crab stuffed seafood. Mine consisted of a dry questionable "crab" filling in an overly tough and flavorless triggerfish. My friend's shrimp looked pretty average sized - nothing exciting going on there in terms of flavor either, which is disappointing given this is a seafood restaurant near the coast. I didn't try my friend's eggplant parmesan, but she said it was "okay". It looked about on par with Olive Garden but the side salad was depressingly worse than OG. Our coconut cake was presented as beautifully as this restaurant could muster and while it tasted good, it tasted like the frozen coconut cakes from the grocery store. read more

Noi Nguyen owner finally approached our table but with no empathy in her tone that ended with other 3 tables of people staring, like one of those horrible YouTube videos where owners think they have the right to spew out bitterness to customers. Noi the owner staying my friend "made a threat" to not pay for Spoiled Salmon!! A threat no it was a Fact!! She paid $85 for what she enjoyed the potstickers appetizer a $55 bottle of wine with 20% gratuity but certainly Not Spoiled Salmon. Bottomline Our Group of Nine ordered 9+ appetizers priced up to $18 and our meals starting slightly under $30 and that's okay, our choices. We didn't even complain about about our appetizers lacking flavor. Just Ladies there to celebrate and enjoy seeing one another. Summary: OK food, they'll charge you as high as possible, threaten to call the police if you ask them to remove anything from the bill and they disrespect kids. My bad, I didn't ask how much. It showed in the ticket $7 for a small side salad. Full salad price was $8.95. I ordered stuffed shrimps with crab meat. I asked if my (included) side could be Brussels sprouts. The waiter said yes, no mention about the up charge. I found out in the ticket it was $8. And guess what, that's the full price, so I didn't get a side. We also ordered fries and 3 desserts that were ok. Food wise it was OK, my wife was happy with her meal - but very sad for how they behaved with our kids. The stuffed from the shrimps tasted more to pepper than to crab. The rest it was ok. Then the 20% tip was pre-included in the ticket. Since they didn't want to modify those items from the ticket, I suggested they could lower the tip and they refused. The owner even mentioned that they had to deal with my kid running in the restaurant. My kids behave well, and yes, they are kids. All customers smiled at my kids. They threaten to call the police if I didn't want to pay. So I paid, scratched the tip on the ticket and I'll certainly dispute the charge on my card. I was with my wife and my two kids, I didn't want to have a scene or waste my time any longer. OK food, presumptuous etiquette, rude and disrespectful service.
