I spoke on the phone with them first and made an appt for the next morning to get it looked at. The total charge included getting my battery replaced as well, which is something I've needed for the last year. Luckily for me it was a great 2 birds one stone deal. They did everything by the next business day and everything worked as expected. 50% deposit and balance upon completion. Super straightforward. The best part is that they are professional, communicative, and you can tell they aspire to high quality all around in their operations. I'll be coming to them next time I need a repair or upgrade. Excellent work.

They were pleasant and professional and we exchanged a bit of humor over the phone and in person. Unfortunately, just two weeks later, a noticeable black blob appeared on the new screen near the Dynamic Island. This looks like OLED screen bleed or a defect. The phone has remained in a case with a screen protector the entire time and has not been dropped, bumped, or otherwise mishandled. Given the timing (only 2 weeks after installation) and the specific location of the spot, this issue is almost certainly the result of either a defective replacement screen or a problem during installation (such as trapped dust, adhesive, or pressure damage). It is not consistent with normal use or accidental damage. I offered to bring the phone in so they could inspect it in person, but they declined and immediately dismissed the warranty claim without examination. While I understand repairs aren't perfect, I'm disappointed they are unwilling to stand behind their work and honor the warranty on what is clearly a post-repair defect. I went from a satisfied customer who would have returned and recommended them to someone who can no longer do so. Potential customers should be aware that warranty support may not be reliable here. EDIT: Contrary to the response below the phone was never physically inspected. Rather, the response was based on a set of photos sent showing the issue which, alone, would be virtually impossible to come to a conclusion of physical damage versus defective product. As a customer, you are in a no win situation here as no matter what happens they are going to blame you and not the manufacturer or installation for the problem.

I can't say enough great things about Matt. He absolutely saved me this week…read more My Lenovo laptop completely failed to boot after a graphics driver cleanup utility corrupted the Windows boot configuration and recovery environment. The system was stuck in a recovery loop, BitLocker was triggered, and Windows wouldn't load or even reliably enter repair mode. Multiple shops I called said it would take several days just to diagnose the issue. Matt turned it around in essentially one day. He was able to manually access the system, unlock BitLocker, repair the corrupted boot configuration, rebuild the necessary Windows files, and get the machine fully operational again -- without wiping my data. That was critical, as I had local files that weren't backed up to the cloud. Beyond the technical expertise, what impressed me most was: * Clear communication * Fast turnaround * Extremely reasonable pricing * No upselling, no unnecessary "reinstall everything" approach He diagnosed the real issue quickly and fixed it correctly the first time. If you're an independent contractor who depends on your machine daily, or you run a small to mid-sized business and need reliable, competent IT support, Matt is exactly who you want on your side. Look no further. Highly, highly recommend.

One morning I was wakened by a call from my sister, she wanted me to read a "must-see" article…read more I got up, went to my work desk, where my Dell XPS Windows 8.1 64 Dual-Monitor Set up lives. I never turn my computer off. So, I pull up the article... I have the cell to my ear, the article on one screen, the desktop is on the other. While reading the article, the screen showing the desktop goes BLACK... I'm not alarmed... because this has happened before a couple of times in the past... the previous routine: 1) one of the screens goes black, 2) about 30-seconds later, the computer shuts down, 3) I restart, back in business BUT THIS TIME The computer reboots to a black screen with the grey words... "Unable to locate package boot" ... OH SH@T!!!! What is this?!?! I immediately told my sister I will call her back. For the next week I tried EVERY, and I do mean EVERY THING to get my computer back up and running. Every internet repair suggestion. Every software that proposes to be able to fix the problem. NOTHING! Still the "Unable to locate package boot." I was reluctant to try a Data Recovery company... because about 6 years ago, I had a computer crash and researched Data Recovery... and the initial prices I was seeing were in the $3,000 range, all the way up to $10,000. But... that was 6 years ago... I was desperate this time. So I delved into the Data Recovery tunnel again... and to my surprise, prices were CONSIDERABLY LOWER. The first company I called was a West Coast company, because of the VERY LOW PRICE they had posted. Second, I called TTR. I chose to go with TTR, although their prices were a little higher that the West Coast company, because the Rep I spoke with at TTR was more inquisitive, more thorough, more polite. He, David, explained to me why my crash probably happened. David was detailed from A to Z in what was going to happen from the time they received my Hard Drive to the my recovered data was returned to me. What David told me is EXACTLY what happened. The West Coast company may have been able to do the data recovery as well, but they lost me with the rude person I initially spoke with. Hey, maybe I paid a little more, but I felt I could trust TTR. And now that I'm back up and running (AND BACKED UP!!!!), the price difference was just a formality. Now I'm about to send TTR the drives I've blown out in the past.

A complete waste of time - I feel cheated and scammed. My Mac M1 needed repair. I sent it to them…read moreand was told that my Mac would be completely unusable after their attempt for recovery. I waited and waited for their services and nobody reached out. I was told it would take 4 weeks to find out the status of my recovery... almost 3 MONTHS later of waiting I decided to reach out to them directly. After reaching out directly, I finally got a response. What was strange is that when they FINALLY responded it just felt like they had kind of forgotten about my Mac (that I sent in months ago) for repair and seemed to kind of play it off like they had been working diligently and "trying methods" the entire time. (Seems to me like they just completely forgot) Sure enough, after about 2 days (ironically AFTER I reached out) the tech let me know that my data couldn't be recovered. They then asked if I'd like to "recycle" the "scrap metal" (are you kidding?) or pay a shipment fee to get my "scrap metal" back. I ended up shipping it back. After a shipment fee and an incredibly long wait, I got my Mac and it looked EXACTLY the same as when I sent it in. (Incredibly WEIRD) - Something told me to try to boot it up. I booted it up and it was literally NO different from when I first sent it. After being told I couldn't ever use it again, and here I am, typing this review on the VERY SAME MAC THAT I SENT IN. I literally found a YouTube tutorial and it took me 2 minutes to solve the issue. A total waste of time and money. Never using their services again.

I dropped my Macbook one time and my hard drive failed. I took it to the Mac store downtown and the Macnician, and they were not able to recover the data. In fact, they referred to companies charging upwards of $700 with no guarantee that my pictures would be recovered. I hated the thought of losing pictures of my 6 month old son. I found Ronnie on Thumbtack and he is incredibly personable. He made it incredibly convenient for me to drop off my drive and pick it up from him. He also charged a very reasonable amount for the data recovery (the best quote I had) and was able to recover all of my son's pictures and other archived pictures that I thought were just gone forever. He did all this very quickly (within a week) and just provided excellent service. He is the epitome of what a small business is all about. I highly highly recommend him for your data recovery needs!

Not only was he able to recover the data from my crashed computer at a VERY reasonable price, but he was also able to recover files from a failed portable hard drive for my sister several years later. His patience and level of explanation during and after the recovery process were very thorough and helpful. I'm grateful for all of his hard work and his willingness to answer any questions, even well after the project was complete. The company offers a variety of technological solutions which are SUPER helpful and range from small, quick fixes to major, recovery and server creation options. I have recommended Inspector Technic to several friends and family members who were satisfied equally or greater with the level of care, delicacy, and professionalism provided. I will most certainly be back whenever I have a computer issue or need technological advice.
