There were SO many groups of volunteers, but from check to the opportunity itself, everything was seamless. We had a separate area for our group where we could gather beforehand, and also where we could retreat to on our 15-minute break. (Yes, we had an organized break!) The organization had an informative video that they showed at the beginning we were divided into task areas for our shift. There were several staff around throughout the event who we could ask questions to or who could assist, if needed. There were lot of opportunities for group photo taking, too. If this were closer to my house, I'd definitely come back more often! 2026: 39/100

It's a large store inside, allowing a lot of space to shop without being on top of each other. It's set-up very similar to a Marshall's, though with mostly used items that were still in good shape. Prices have definitely jumped since when I grew up with Goodwill, with reselling and thrifting of vintage items driving up prices, though sometimes an item can be badly overpriced because of aggressive pricers (think of a store like Savers). My wife has a bit of experience in the matter, and she ended up buying more than a few items from here (stating that the prices were good). It did have other non-clothing sections (electronics, books, toys) but those areas were smaller, though I did find quite a few stuffed animals in the toy section. Nothing for me this time, though having a large electronics and books section can keep me occupied while the others clothes shop.

We came here after dinner and found many designer bags (Michael Kors, Guess, Etc). The floor had many staff restocking the shelves and overall maintaining the store. Whether it's greeting you with a smile or truly listening to your situation, you feel understood and cared about. As for the organization as a whole, I was very impressed in their variation of programs available to the community. Programs focused to help in areas of homelessness, employment and job training, community engagement, neighborhood development, affordable housing, and leadership development efforts; just awesome. The Negative reviews here are BS. The Salvation Army is one of the best charitable organizations…read morethat exist. I have volunteered here for enough time to see its strengths and weaknesses. They have to have policies in effect in how they except donations, help the disadvantaged and distribute the help from their food bank to housing to helping people get back on their feet again. This is Hollywood. There are homeless encampments surrounding this campus. If they didn't have the policies they do they would be overwhelmed and wouldn't be able to help anybody. The Pastors who lead here have given their oath to God to help others and do not discriminate. Fridays 9-12 is a food bank for seniors Saturdays 10-2 is a food bank for families. There are multiple programs for meals, drug addiction, housing, single moms ect. I volunteer there because it's easy to see how much good they do for the community and I'm happy to be part of something so great.

I would this rate this particular office 5 (five) stars if it weren't for the fact that it has a maniacal "security" guard who went off on me the other day as I was trying to finish some printing to qualify for housing. This individual is not new to me, and actually raised some red flags with me about three or four years ago concerning some rifling through of my vehicle at the time. His recent behavior confirmed the fact that he shows no respect for certain people and brown-noses others. I don't know why he was so disrespectful and condescending to me, but I brought it up to the director and his assistant and they listened. This so-called guard's behavior does not represent the staff of AADAP and I hope other users of this business center experience better treatment. This utterly unprofessional "guard" is usually the first person you see as you're entering the center (that is when he's not sitting in his car). Best wishes to all who enter.
