HAPPY THANKSGIVING ARMY. I'm glad to support them and glad that there is secular-ness at the thanksgiving dinner, no proselytizing.

I'm writing this review for book lovers, for the simple fact is that Goodwill (and Savers and the…read moreSalvation Army) have simply become the best book stores in the nation. Barnes & Noble--wonderful as the Pittsford NY location is--has become more of a cafe, toy store, and CD/DVD distribution hub than a book store. Worse, the mental plague that is Woke is finely grinding down the very last national book story chain, Barnes & Noble, like quality coffee beans. There are LGBTQ+ displays, anti-racist displays, marginalized-minority-of-the-month displays, gay posters displayed in the children's section, but where are the contrasting views? Barnes & Noble is such a blessing to the community that I have no wish to fault it for the mild way it pushes certain books and downplays others. My point is only that this doesn't happen at all in Goodwill. Books of every sort appear, new, old, self-published, controversial, contrarian, bizarro, the works. The prices are incredibly affordable, condition varies, but if you want to come across not merely good books but titles and content that surprise you, there is only Goodwill and its charitable colleagues. It's the only book store where you can see the American mind in something like a comprehensive display.

I've visited this location a few times to donate and browse. It's not a large store, but like any…read morethrift shop, you either find treasures or not much at all. The prices are fair, and there's plenty of parking. 3.5 outta 5

Whenever I am in the Pittsford area, I like to pop into NTY's consignment shop for some gently used…read moreworkwear. I made a point to stop by today because the sister Clothes Mentor locations in Greece & Henrietta have closed. I plan on entering the store when I am driving down Monroe Avenue toward the Pittsford Wegmans, so I can make a right hand turn in. Upon exiting the lot, I usually head towards another store towards Pittsford Plaza so I can make a right out of the lot. Trying to make a left and crossing two lanes of traffic is extremely difficult. Lots of the brands they tend to carry are J. Crew, Free People, Lululemon, Loft, Calvin Klein, Old Navy, and some Marshalls/Nordstrom/TJMaxx brands. Designer bags and shoes pop in the store as well and are often featured on their Facebook stories. Currently, they have their racks of summer seasonal wear out, and lots of athletic wear. The owner told me she was going to make a jacket and blazers rack soon this week, after clearing some more space. Some items are priced well, others are a touch higher than I would like to pay but it really depends on the brand and the type of item. Today I left with a cobalt blue Banana Republic skirt ($12), a red Mario Serrani pencil skirt ($10), and a Loft blouse ($14). With the tax and a check-in discount, it was $33. The store is requiring masks to alleviate the discomfort of other shoppers and staff. They are offering 10% off with a Facebook check-in to help promote the business.

Incredible selection of designer brands for unbeatable prices. Everyone who works there is very…read morehelpful. Love this store!
