I went into this shop with a tulle bridesmaid skirt which is very trendy right now. The woman LAUGHED in my face when I asked for it to be hemmed because it is too long. She said there were too many layers and that she "refused to do it for even $100." Please keep in mind the wedding is over a month away so she has plenty of time. I am baffled by how rude and inappropriate this interaction was. Would 100% not recommend going here for alterations. I found another local shop that is kindly doing it for $55. read more

I have used sal's for two different services, alteration and dry cleaning and have had different results. First, I took a pair of dress slacks in to get altered. The employee was very helpful and asked many questions to make sure the pants would be altered the way I wanted. I tried them on when I returned after they were altered and the fit great and looked great. The second service is why I rated this business so low. I took in 3 brand new, never worn white dress shirts to be dry cleaned for my wedding. All three shirts came back with stains on them and weren't even pressed well. She kept two of the shirts to bring them back in. Apparently the third one was good enough for her, but is extremely unacceptable especially for an occasion as important as my wedding. I cannot wear this $60 shirt and I am definitely not taking it back only to return with more stains. I had hoped when I first came to this business it was going to be my new spot, with more personal service than an Al Phillips, unfortunately for both of us the service and attention to detail on the dry cleaning will result in no more business from me. read more

Words can not describe how amazing my experience was with this place. There are two things I always look for; quality work, and quality service. This lady far exceeded my expectations. I came to her with a very oversized suit jacket that was assigned to me by my new employer and was to be tailored by my first day, which was two days from when they gave it it me!! I checked multiple alteration locations and nobody would take the job because they were all loaded with work being that Christmas is in a few days. This lady was clearly very loaded with work, but sympathized with my situation and took on the challenge. I was worried that with her having to rush through it, the quality would not be that great, but I was very wrong. My suit looks like it was tailored by god himself! Quality service? for the life of me I cannot understand how this place is rated to highly on yelp. My experience was pretty much the exact opposite of what everyone else has experienced. The person barely spoke to me. I felt awkward being there, like I was an imposition to her television shows that were on her ipad on both visits. I rated it two stars because the alteration she did on my suit was actually done pretty well. But ZERO and I mean ZERO customer service skills. I waited a whole week to go back and barely be spoken to, not thanked and for more rude service, which is a shame because I really wanted it to be good after reading the reviews. I went to this place to get a formal dress altered. Took my dress in on a Saturday. Told them that my deadline for completion was the following Saturday. The woman on duty agreed to call me to let me know what the cost would be. I didn't hear anything, so by Wednesday, I called them. No answer. No answering machine. Not sure what the "24 hour emergency service" that they advertise is supposed to be, because I didn't get it. Finally, on Thursday, I got ahold of someone by phone who said that she "had not had time to shop" for the needed fabric. I won't be trying them again for anything. read more

I went there to adjust a blouse and she look at me like I was crazy! She posted ads on craigslist saying it is a small factory. Who runs this sweatshop is a angry Asian woman, who has terrible taste for color and texture as I could see by her bragging about a dress she try to copy (Jeniffer Lopes's Green Versace one). There is a new owner/seamstress at Salvi's, and she is amazing! So please disregard the last posting. I went through my whole closet, and Sonica helped fix all my clothes that had all sorts of problems. She especially did an amazing job with one of my blouses. It was a delicate D&G silk tank that I accidentally torn while putting it on. The back of the blouse was replaced with and was embellished with a lace overlay. It looks prettier now than when I bought it! In addition, Salvi's Alterations, always provides quick service and very reasonable prices. I highly recommend going here! read more

Sonyka , owner of Sal's Alterations and Dry cleaning is very professional. If she can't do the job right she won't take it. I bought a couple of dress pants to an alterations a couple of block from her, the lady was making so many excuses why she can't do it right so I didn't leave the pants to her but instead drove around the neighborhood and found Sal's Alterations, not only she did a good job but less than the other cleaners was charging. She's been doing my dry clean and alterations since then. I recommended her also to my friends. read more

The owner (Sonika) did a fantastic job on altering a couple of pair of shorts and a hem job. The only reason I gave this review a 4 star is because even on the simple hem job it took a week to get back. During that time I had taken two other items for hem jobs and got them both back within an hour and the other place was $5 cheaper than this place. I do, however, like the alterations she did! If you are not in a hurry or have something a little more complex to alter then I would recommend Salvi's. read more

Sal's is THE ABSOLUTE BEST dry cleaners and place to do alterations I have yet to come across in the 20 years I've lived here. It's a small place, not a franchised chain like Al Phillips and you would probably never knew it existed, unless you happen to live right near the intersection of Wigwam and Pecos or perhaps a friend referred you. Then again, there are these handy yelp reviews. It's too bad Sal's doesn't have more reviews, because they sure deserve them. The one woman (Sonika, also the owner I believe), who ALWAYS works the counter every day of the week is very sweet, kind and attentive to your needs, consistently has a smile on her face, remembers you when you come and although she and that little shop likely constantly have a ton of work on their hands, they still give you 110% and are always committed to the quality of their work. If you live in Green Valley or nearby I highly recommend using Sal's for all of your dry cleaning and alteration needs:) read more
