My wife and I took the Moonlight Tour to see the memorials with night lights on them. George is an excellent guide with knowledge of the memorials and many other buildings and statues we passed. We stopped 6 times with enough time to step off the van to take photos and walk up close to the memorials. George injected humor into his dialog. We were fortunate I guess when we did our night time tour with George. The other folks did not show up due to flight problems, so my wife, son and I got a great "personal" tour. George took us around for almost 3 hours, stopping for several times to let us get out and walk around the monuments. I have to say this was the most perfect decision I could have made. We got in to Dulles at 7:45, got our rental car and drove to DC. Jorge picked us up downtown and we were on our way. It was my family and another family. Total of 8 in a 14 person van that was air conditioned. Jorge has been in DC for 29 years and although other reviews have said that his accent is difficult to understand my 12 year old and 9 year old both fully understood him. We covered the entire city and it included stops at Lincoln/Vietnam/Korean War Memorials, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Luther King, World War II, Albert Einstein, The Mall and of course the White House. I will tell everyone I know that goes to DC to not miss this trip. It will save you a lot of walking. read more

I found this Company on-line! Most web sites lead you to the larger Tour Companies and Trolly's etc! I knew when my call was instantly returned this was the tour for me! I booked for 4 people and the Van probably holds 10! I don't know about you but I don't want to wait for 35 people to get on and off a bus at the stops! No one else booked on Friday the 13th so we got LUCKY and had a private tour! George our driver was fun, kind, knowledgeable and gave us a great tour of DC at night! George is the best!!! My mom and I took the tour last night and had a GREAT time. We expected a night tour to be driving around, without stopping and simply looking at the illuminated monuments. We were surprised to find that the night tour was everything you would expect from a day tour, just when the monuments look their best and when the weather is a little nicer. Now we have an extra day to spend at the Smithsonian George takes his time and makes sure not to miss any points of interest. He literally pointed out every building of significance in D.C. Again, this was so much more than we expected. George is very knowledgeable and gives you a lot of interesting historical background. The advantage to taking George's tour is that you're in a smaller vehicle and receive very personal treatment. By the end of the night George is like a good friend. It is also really easy jumping in and out of the van to walk around the monuments. No long waits like on the large bus tours. We did a 3 hour city tour of DC on a gorgeous October day when my parents were in town. The other family that was supposed to go on our small group tour cancelled so it was just the 3 of us. George did a great job of getting around to the different sites and filling us in on the meaning behind things - the number of pillars, the number of stairs, etc.... We could have seen the sites on our own, but never would have learned all the background. He also tailored it a bit to our interests - by the end we were just happy to look at places without getting out .... It would have been exhausting to do this all on our own. I am looking forward to doing the night tour with him in the future. read more

So glad we took a chance on this "smaller" night tour of Washington DC! George was an excellent guide. He communicated with us 12 hours before departure so we could ask any questions and make sure of meeting place. The Sprinter van was clean and modern. George knew it all: he was able to answer all questions and made the tour fun and informative. One guest was an Eddie Haskell type....and tried to take over the dialogue but G handled it perfectly. If we had any slight complaint, it was the size of the seats. My husband had to sit by a large woman that overflowed into his seat. I had to sit on the back bench seat with another couple with my knees hitting the back of the seat in front of me. If we knew there would be 11 adults (including driver) we probably would not opt to go in a vehicle of that size. If at all possible, limit size to 10 or fewer passengers. Otherwise, all was good! read more

George was very attentive to what we were saying, I told him we were interested in going to the Renwick Gallery (not really knowing where it was located on the National Mall) he pointed it out on our tour and even gave some metro directions!!! History was not my thing in school but George gave so much information about the monuments in such a fun and entertaining way, he made learning fun!!! I wished I had George as a teacher! We saw and learned so much in 3 hours (if not for George we would not have been able to go to Jefferson Memorial cuz it is not on the National Mall, plus we saw the memorial for Iwo Jima that we would not have seen either!). I was in D.C. with my children, and after 8 days of being on yours on the east coast, they wanted nothing to do with museums or one more tour, so I searched Yelp for a bus tour to quickly show us all of the landmarks in the area. I was debating between the Hop On/Off Tours and the Big Bus tours, but they are large companies and so impersonal. As I was scrolling down, I saw Sam and Sal's Tours. Only eight reviews, but all of them addressed how much fun the tour was and how personal it was. So, we took a chance, and I am so glad we did! This tour was the highlight of our entire trip to Boston, NY, and DC for my 11- and 13-year olds! From the moment I called, George answered and was so friendly. Plus, he offered door to door service at no extra charge for us and the other family who was on the tour with a 7-year old. I called him about four hours before the tour began. We saw and/or stopped at every single site you could imagine in a 3-hour evening tour from 7:30pm to 10:30pm. The kids didn't want it to end AND they were hungry but didn't care! Anyone with kids knows that hunger beats anything, but not in this case. George was personable, friendly, shared relevant and interesting stories that were not too high level for my kids to understand, and he was like our own personal driver. All the other tourists on buses looked miserable waiting for other tourists and buses to come, but not ours! George was always happily waiting and opening doors for us. By the end of the tour, we were all friends with the other family and George. I have yet to experience that on any other tour on the east coast. Rave reviews for this group! read more
