I tried their Capp few times and it was good. However, the coffee is sh)t water. It is super sour to a point I can't drink it. Please don't waste money. Starbucks is 100x better. Even Timmy is better then their coffee. If you really want to try, please only go for capp. read more

Despite the raving reviews for Sam James Coffee Bar, I found it an underwhelming experience. The coffee is quite expensive considering the size of the cups, and the latte that I received was lukewarm on more than one occasion. Overrated in my opinion. Came here this morning after hearing great things about it. I really liked the Americano I ordered. I found the espresso to be a bit on the sweeter side (not sure why so many reviews call it bitter...or maybe it's just me?!) and thoroughly delicious. Only minor moan is that the espresso beverages only come in one size. I'd love a larger Americano. The staff were friendly and did a great job at moving the long lines at rush hour. I look forward to trying their regular coffee soon, too. Note: at peak times it can be really confusing to try figure out which line is which in terms of which is waiting to order and which is waiting for drinks already ordered! They have Really good cappuccino! It is smooth and rich. People who don't like acid coffee would enjoy it very much. This is one of the very few cafes I would recommend to people and people who appreciate good coffee as suppose to just the hype. read more

One of a kind coffee bar that's worth the wait at times. Probably one of the best PATH-accessible espresso bars. In an underground full of Starbucks and Marche, SJCB is an independent diamond in the mass produced rough. I had a latte, which was excellent. I visited their St. Andrew location recently and got an americano and a bag of their Kenyan beans. The staff was very friendly and even offered some samples to help me decide on which beans to choose. It was quite busy and the line ups were a little chaotic, but they handled it well. The americano was great and the beans are fantastic, definitely one of the best roasts I've bought in Toronto. I'd definitely come back to try something different. read more

Best coffee bar to ever exist, along with some really cute and friendly barista's too! Kevin is my absolute fave, along with Alex and the girls are just super lovely! They play the most COOLEST music that you would ever expect from a group of young and hip baristas! All I have to do is say, "Gimme my usual", and they know I love my Americano. It's a cozy at home feel with a personal touch. You see the usual crowd there which tells you that they've developed a cult-like crowd! Who can resist the excellent quality coffee! First experience left with me with a bad taste in my mouth - literally. I'm not an espresso expert but I was very surprised to get an extremely sour espresso. I searched a few sites and they generally agree that espresso should not be sour. Some point to issues in grinding or steaming time, but regardless I'm left a little doubtful about whether I should return. read more
