Literally, if I could give this place less, I would. I am new to the neighborhood, from south, and our liquor stores treat you like a valued member of the community and a valued customer. Starting with the staff at this place, mainly the girl and guy, their attitudes are terrible, and they act as if they are doing you some favor by even speaking with you. Absolutely could use customer service basics and 101, just to start. They are out of most things we want. Irritated when we ask questions. I've quarried other people in the area who feel the same. The only saving grace for this place is the LA Dodgers dude, who generally has a great and humorous demeanor. I have gotten to the point where after several less than stellar interactions, I refuse to go here. I will drive wherever just to avoid it. Pretty sad as I live less than a mile away. read more

Located just a few short paces from my old office, Samis is your typical convenience store. Tons of magazines, beers and non-alcoholic beverages to choose from. I do like the fact that you can buy certain types of clothing here. I was never tempted to buy any for myself, but I'm always tempted to buy something for my faux friends. I also like the fact that their hard liquor selection is super diverse. Of course, you can go to either Stater Bros. or CVS across the street. But, you can't buy fifths of whisky at either of those places. Come on folks, we've all had days where we needed just a fifth of something. For the most part, the cashiers/owners are friendly. However, I did get reprimanded for sitting on a planter at the side of the store. Mind you, it was a huge concrete planter that others perform skateboard or bike tricks off of. Was I a target of bigotry? Who knows. All I know is that the cashier told me not to loiter and that if a police officer saw me there I would get cited. I usually come here for the convenience to save time getting in and out in a hurry, not to buy alcohol. However, I frequently get over-charged for my order... It's irritating they say my total is one thing but then my bank statement shows they charged me several dollars more. It shouldn't cost over $5 for a 2 liter bottle of coke, right? They never give me a receipt either... One day he charged my friend $20 for a disposable e-cig that only costs $9 at the liquor store on Rancho Calif rd. This liquor store is VERY sketchy. They try to over prize the things you buy when you're not looking. I bought 4 tall cans of beer and a bag of chips for almost $17! Any other liquor store would have been cheaper. They also charge you 50 cents for using your debit card wether you're buying a lot or a little. Most liquor stores charge 50 cents only if its under 5$. DO NOT COME HERE! Save your money for another liquor store because this one is not the place to come. The guys who work here even look suspicious and they try to talk in their native language so you can't understand them. read more
