I met this pair at a 1st birthday party. In this situation, Tudie was a face painter, and Sammie was a balloon maker. I'm sure they offer other things... I enjoyed watching Tudie paint the kids faces. She's quick but she makes the kids look good! See my pictures! She can do Cats, Butterflies, Princesses, Mermaids, Spider man, Batman..etc... Sammie can make the basic balloon shapes but can also do alot of impressive things. Hats, Flowers, Flowers in a vase, Swords, Wands, Crowns, etc... At this party, they pretty much blended into the background. But, Sammie also has a ukelele so I'm guessing, that if you asked, they can do a whole presentation for the kids at your kid's party! read more

The absolute best in children's entertainment. In a city with so many options Sammie and Tudie standout as the greatest. I have worked with tons of children's entertainers in the past ten years and nobody even compares to this duet. You can certainly find cheaper magicians, face painters and balloon artists but you will not get anywhere close to the service that Sammie & Tudie provide. Plus, they always show up early and stay late if they need to! Sammie can create balloons of anything your child can dream of! He is also extremely silly with his ukulele and will keep kids laughing for hours! Tudie is an exceptional face painter. She can create anything the kids ask for. She is also incredibly sweet which helps calm the little ones that are a little frightened with face painting. And together Sammie and Tudie are AMAZING! My son turned three during Covid and so a virtual birthday party was the way to go. Sammie (Applesauce) and Tudie were recommended through a NYTimes online article and I must admit I clicked their link and chose day/time for availability without much to go on bc their reviews are for live and in-person shows! We hired Sammi to make balloon animals at our almost four year old's early birthday party. But he did so much more than that! First, let's start with the balloons. There are balloons animals, and there are what Sammi makes. We've been to a string of kids birthday parties lately. Sammi's ballon animals were exponentially better than the others I've seen. They were so intricate and detailed that even the grown ups were awed and asked him to make this and that. But more importantly, Sammi put on a show for the kids even though that wasn't included in the price. He truly loves what he does. His performance and jokes made the kids laugh so hard. Excellent entertainers for my boy's 5th virtual birthday party amidst the covid-19 pandemic. As we were getting closer to his birthday and realizing that we would not be able to have a live celebration, I searched on-line for kid friendly virtual entertainers and found Sammie and Tudie. I showed my son a clip of one of their acts and he was all smiles and told me that he wanted them for his zoom party. Lots of good reviews were reassuring. I reached out to them and found their communication was prompt and informative. So I booked them and then wondered how in the world was I going to manage ten 5-year olds on a zoom meeting. I told myself to stop 2nd guessing because virtual birthday parties are new for everybody anyways, so just go with it. A couple days before the party Sammie and Tudie reached out and confirmed- great communicators! The day of the party they arrived to the Zoom meeting and immediately had all the kids (and adults) mesmerized and laughing for all 30 minutes. Entertaining, funny and with a little bit of magic, Sammie and Tudie were a hit. They even picked up a clue from my son's invite that he's into dinosaurs and made a dinosaur balloon animal for him. A nice personal touch that they sent a video clip afterwards with a sweet message for my son. Sammie and Tudie were perfect for our child's birthday party! They were able to keep the attention of over 35 kids (1-10 yrs old), which is hard to do for any entertainer. Samie and Tudie are the BEST! We first saw them at the Museum Mile Festival. For the next 9 months my 3 and 6 year old talked about them constantly and repeated some of their jokes. I have worked with Sammie and Tudie for the past five years at an annual event, and book them a year out to be sure we get them! Their skits engage children AND adults, their balloon animals and face paintings are spectacular, and overall they are highly entertaining. Some years the families are slow to arrive, and Sammie and Tudie do not hesitate to approach the adults and engage them as well. I have seen Sammie and Tudie work with small groups as well as large groups, and they adjust their performances accordingly so all children are accommodated. It is really fun for all involved. She was extremely professional and easy to deal with ahead of time, incredibly experienced, and is still the best face painter I have ever seen! The kids loved it.
